Let's talk food...

Chef Antoine is making you the dinner of your dreams. What would it be? Appetizer, main course and dessert.

Name one food that you wouldn't miss if you couldn't ever have it again.

Name one food that you would rather die than do without:p

Have fun!

This is one I'd have to think long and hard about! Food is a big button that LOVES to be pushed with me, hence why I started Weight Watchers 2 yrs ago!!!

Great question even though I can't answer it yet!

This will take some thought; I've gotta have my coffee first.

ahem, I guess COFFEE is the answer to "Name one food you would rather die than go without"

The food I wouldn't miss? umm, I love almost all food. I guess I wouldn't miss COLLARD GREENS.

The meal: I would leave to the creativities to the tasting menu (with wine) of a seasoned chef. The few I've enjoyed have been so extremely well paired with a wine for each course and a marriage of unexpected tastes. We have enjoyed in New Orleans, Toronto, and Boston and have done our research on the restaurant ahead of time.

If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.

There are too many things to choose from for the first question so I can't answer that. :p

The food I wouldn't miss: EGGS, blech!x(
The food I couldn't live w/o: cheese!:9

This is a tough question...but i did some thinking...
First I would start off with some calamari. I would want a glass of sangria to accompany my dinner. For a main course I would want seafood. Like scollops, shrimp , lobster. And for desert i would want the most decadent chocolate whatever with ice creams and hot fudge.

I wouldnt miss licorice the black kind

I couldnt live with out ice cream...lol

melissa

I wouldn't miss oatmeal! Yuck, I have tried just can't stand the consistancy.
Couldn't do w/out pizza!
I think I would start out with chips and salsa. Followed with a chimicahanga, rice. Maybe a margarita for dessert. I am not really a sweet person. Gimme the salt!

Appetizer: a variety of fluke ceviches
Main course: organic chilean turbot
Dessert: tiny bits of a variety of exotic cheeses

Food I wouldn't miss if I could never have it again: brownies

Food I would rather die than do without: mustard
ETA: if mustard is not a food, then lettuce

Fun one Shelley! :D I love thinking about food.

I'll answer too, now that I have more time...

Appetizer - baked brie en croute with mango chutney and roasted garlic
Main course - fusilli in a basil cream sauce with toasted pine nuts and sundried tomatoes
Dessert - either Dufflet's white chocolate mousse cake or creme caramel

Food I wouldn't miss - lobster
Food I would die rather than do without - CEREAL!!!:p

Limecat... Miss Kitty says she thought your fave meal would include salmon or Whiskas--and catnip! :p

Mmmmmm, I think Shelley's meun sounds pretty good, except for the brie part. I don't do smelly cheese.

For an appetizer, the Lime Inn on St John makes a smoked fish salad to die for.

Entree, something new and exciting with salmon. I once has a salmon dish served with caramelized onions that was darned tasty.

Dessert would have to be something chocolate, with lots of texture. Maybe a chocolate mousse cake sort of thing.

The whole meal would be accompanied by a wine flight of expensive wines I would never get a chance to taste otherwise.

I could live without liver.

I could not live without chocolate.

Nope, it smells to me. Actually, the only kind of cheese I "like" is a nice sharp cheddar, especially if it's smoked. Cheese is not high on my list of favorites.

mmmm

appetizer - oysters on the halfshell . . baked and topped w/a creamy blend of cheeses
meal - steamed crab legs - a perfectly seasoned and grilled filet mignon - stuffed baked potato - ceasar salad and hot dark bread served w/butter
dessert - no room for it .. are you kidding ..

food I could live without - any morning/breakfast food

food I could NOT live without - steak and potato!

That's a hard one!

Appetizer - Try to stay away from them but if I had one, I would go for stuffed mushrooms. Entree - Lobster tail with lots of grilled veggies, new potatoes and salad - Dessert - Anything chocolate.

I can live without brussel sprouts.
I have a salad every day. So, guess I couldn't make it without it.

I've given this matter careful consideration and here's my ideal.

First, Antoine becomes Antonio Giuseppe :D

Appetizer - a lovely tray of Italian meats, cheeses, and grilled vegetables, served with crostini and a warm loaf of ciabatta.

Main course - Rigatoni with a plain, simple tomato sauce and meatballs made with my granny's recipe. I was raised on this and it's still my favorite meal of all time. I wish I could duplicate my Nonna's sauce -- I can't but I'm sure Antonio can, after all, this is my dream:p

Dessert - While Antonio was working on my appetizer and main course, Antoine was busy making a decadent Chocolate Soufflé with Crème Anglaise

One food that I wouldn't miss if I could never have it again? TOFU! ICK!!!

A food that I would rather die than do without? Chocolate :9

Okay, dinner of my dreams- (doesn't flow- but all my favorites!)
appetizer- french onion soup
main course- veal marsala, steamed broccli, and spegetti
dessert- N.Y. style cheesecake

one food I wouldn't miss- tofu

one food that I would rather die than do without- Peanut butter:)

Deanie
PS- Shelly- I love your ?"s of the day- even my boys ask what it is each day- LOL!! Thanks!

I'd start with a creamy lobster bisque & crab cakes, a nice juicy steak, follwed by raspberries over ice cream with a little bite of chocolate.

I could not live without pizza, no way, no how. Or popcorn.

And since I'm a picky eater, my wouldn't miss it list is pretty long: mushrooms, brussel sprouts, oysters.... I won't bore you with the rest!

That's a toughie! Sometimes fine dining is the perfect fit and sometimes good ol' 'pub grub' is. I love a good Indian dinner as much as a good German dinner but I do know what I would love.....
I want Chef Antoine to channel my MIL's spirit to prepare a classic English roast beef dinner with Yorkshire Pudding:9 She was an awesome cook who grew up in Yorkshire so this meal is her birthright.:) For dessert it's her peach crisp pie, just tastes like summer. We have 2 theories among our extended family of why everything she prepared was a taste sensation, she always put love into her cooking and/or she spit in it:+

I could happily live without salmon (it gets in my mouth:p )

No surprise, I couldn't live without Peanut Butter, it's my DRUG!

ROTFLOL!! You know, I think maybe my Nonna spit in her tomato sauce. Love was definitely a main ingredient, and she made the sign of the cross over every pot that sat on her stove top or went into her oven.

Michele, a meal prepared like a prayer, that is so beautiful and sentimental. Your beloved Nonna sounds like such a wonderful woman, how could her food not be delicious when it was filled with love, faith and, perhaps, just a little spit of love:+ Thanks for sharing that Michele, it really struck a cord with me.:)

Take Care
