Hey guys, i wasn't sure where to post this, there is no 'recipes' board. So not to get in trouble, i posted it on another forum and i'll send you the link.
Anyway, i found a FANTASTIC new york cheescake recipe in my cook's illustrated light/low fat cookbook. IT's got the same texture and flavor of a real cheescake, but it uses a mix of low fat cream cheese, low fat cottage cheese, and yogurt cheese (labne, sold in mid. east stores). Don't tell people what's inside it, but it tastes absolutely fantastic. when you whip all the cheeses together it comes out smooth and creamy (not lumpy like my sister thought it would be cuz of the cottage cheese)
also, i like this recipe cuz it has the active cultures from the yogurt.....so, you're not just eating empty calories, you're eating something that's good for you
i haven't tried to make this with splenda yet. I made this for 7/4 and it was an absolute hit (nobody knew it was low fat)
