Okay gals, I need a little reassurance here.
I've got the obnoxious roll of fat above my belly button that I can't get off. I've been doing fat loss rotations since January, often adding in extra cardio and yoga. I've been doing mainly circuit and total body workouts but lifting as heavy as I can. I'm also eating clean, watching my portions, and increasing my lean protein (mostly tofu).
I'm now in my second week of Cathe's Hardcore strength rotation, and this is a leap of faith for me. I build muscle easily (short, Scottish ancestry, with calf muscles to rival any linebacker's). Consequently, I hadn't even tried the Gym Style workouts until last week--but I'm loving them. I'm also running for extra cardio.
I "know" it takes at least 3 weeks to see results of tweaking my exercise program. And I "know" that I'm gaining muscle. And I "know" that I shouldn't care what the scale says. And I "know" that it's getting to be TTOTM (because my whole body has turned into a giant zit!). And I "think" I'm getting leaner. But my weight is creeping up in half-pound increments and part of me is getting a little nervous.
So, if you've had success with concentrating more on strength training, would you please share?
Thanks,
Carol F
