Legs & Glutes question

Cathe, during L&G when we put our heel on the 3 lb weight and do lunges, where are we supposed to be feeling it? Does having the heel elevated put the emphasis on one part of the leg over another? I'm not sure what I'm supposed to focus on when doing this exercise.
BTW - I LOVE this workout!

Angela, I'd also like to know the answer to this. I THOUGHT the first time I did the workout, it was concentrated in the hams/glutes. The last couple times I have done it, it seemed focused equally in those areas AND the quads??? Maybe, because I have been sore from the new workouts? I LOVE this workout too.

Hi Angela! Yes, having the heel slightly elevated shifts the focus a little more to the quads. But I strongly do not recommend elevating the heel any higher than the wedge that a 3 pound dumbbell provides(inch to inch and a half) as to not aggrivate the knees and or grossly throw off your alignment. As always, if it simply is not comfortable for you, do the exercise flat on the floor:)

Thanks Cathe - I actually do feel this more in my quads and I guess I'm just not used to the lunge "feeling" this way. ;-)
