Leaner Legs--3rd Time's The Charm!!

I am so happy!! I just finished my 3rd attempt at LL, and this is the first time that I actually made it thru everything without having to put down the barbell!!! Even those deadly static lunges, and that second set of plies!

Then I even did the abs---I know I'm a bad girl, here is my true confession--lots of times I don't do the abs at the end of a tough workout....I save 'em and do them later in the day. But this time I tried to pretend that I was one of the cast members of the video and pretended that I had no choice, I just HAD to keep up and do everything and not poop out early. It worked!!

I'm so glad to have my whole workout, including abwork, done for the day!!!

But, since the Cross Trainers arrived, even when I THINK I'm done working out for the day, later on in the day I always seem to get that yearning to do one of those fun cardio segments from the new tapes! They are just irresistible, aren't they?!

Yow, my legs are tired!!

Yeeeeah Deb!

This tape must be a killer! I can't wait to get it and try it out. I love an intense w/o. You are too funny about being one of the cast members! You are right though. I know when I teach my Hi/Lo classes I have lots more energy when I know I have to pull through for my students and sometimes at home when I am practicing, I can barely crawl!! Keep us informed on the results you receive, Deb.

Hi Debbie!

Good for you! Funny how you mentioned that you pretended to be one of the video cast members to get through the workout. I do that too. If there is a day that I have to teach but don't feel like I have the energy to do it, I pretend that I am shooting a video. Suddenly my awarenes and energy snap right to it.

Glad you are enjoying the tapes!

Congrats! It's Good to Know There's Hope

Congratulations Debbie -

I've only done Leaner Legs once and boy was it a humbling experience (like just about every other weight section in these new tapes!). Cathe packs something into every single second. Even though it's shorter than Pure Strength Strong Legs and Abs, I think it's more challenging because she keeps it intense throughout, my heartrate was up there most of the time.

Anyway, job well done!

Debbie, that's terrific!!

Isn't it an awesom e feeling knowing you've conquered it

! Keep it up girl!!

thanks!!!--Muscles adapting--question?

I did feel very proud of myself for finally making it thru that tape with the 35 lb. barbell. But, I was sad to wake up this morning to discover that i'm not even sore--well, just a tiny bit in the inner thighs, but that's all. The last two times doing this tape, I was very very sore in the quads, hams, butt, everywhere!!

I do realize that muscle soreness, or lack thereof, is not necessarily an indicator of a great workout. I suppose my muscles have adapted somewhat to this particular routine, since it was my 3rd time thru it.

So---now I guess I should further challenge myself with this tape by slowly increasing the weight of my barbell, right?

Comments anyone?
Thanks, Debbie

Not too fast!

Hi Debbie! The first time you ever do a new routine you will be your "sore-est". While that kind of soreness is rare with the second workout, your muscles are still being very challenged. I would not add weight to that bar for at least three more weeks. Rather focus on form, technique, and precision with every rep and with every exercise. Happy lifting!

Thanks, Cathe!

I really appreciate your sound advice. And I also still can't get over the way you respond to us so generously!!!! THANKS SO MUCH!
Oh, and I'm quite relieved that I don't have to up my weight for Leaner Legs for 3 weeks! Ha ha!
It's still plenty hard enough (nearly impossible!!) to get thru with 35 lbs. as it is!!!
Thanks again!
Debbie
