Lawn Mower Question: Need Help

Hello Friends of the Forum.

My lawn mower wouldn't start yesterday after several tries. A friend told me the gasoline is too old in it and needs to be drained and cleaned. How do you drain a mower? What do you safely do with the old gas that is safe for the environment? What chemicals to do use prior to the new gas before going in?

I do have a lawn service so I'm not in BIG pressure here but it's good to have it working.

TIA

I have never heard that the gas is too old, but I could be wrong. Have you checked the oil and sparkplug?

The "old gas" thing sounds familiar. I think it's best to drain the gas after every season (then you could put it in your car, when the gas isn't 'old' yet).

I would take it somewhere, and have them do it. They have the know-how and the means of disposing of the old gas (ask to see what they do with it, some places maybe be more environmentally conscious than others).
