Hi Lauramax,

I noticed in a previous post that you use the Atkin's diet. I also noticed in your meal plan for the day, your only source of carb was veggies. How do you workout without eating brown rice, whole grain pasta, bread etc.? Don't you feel fatigued and hungry ? Do you have enough energy to function well throughout the day ? I tried cutting back my brown rice to 1/2 cup and was famished still. Do you include fruits in your meal plan? What is your w/o plan like ? Is it 1hr each day or more , is cardio + wts everyday or do you alternate them?

Hi Traci-Lee--no, my energy level hasn't really dropped. It definitely did the first two weeks or so but then my body adjusted.

You have to understand the underlying philosophy of Atkins, which is basically that your body has two sources of energy: fat & carbs. Your body burns carbs first & when it runs out of carbs to burn it starts burning fat.

So, if you're not taking in any carbs your body goes straight to burning fat, which is why the diet is so effective & works so fast, especially for people who exercise regularly. Evidently I have enough fat to keep my energy level pretty high. ;-)
