Although I don't post much and tend to lurk, I have followed all your posts about Cosmo. Just by your posts I can see the love you have for her, and how much pain you must be enduring. I am truly sorry. I am dealing with a similar situation with my lab Zola. She was just recently diagnosed with a nasal tumor that is inoperable. The vet told us that she has 2 to 4 weeks to live. She is on a ton of meds to keep her comfortable. I don't know which is worst, not knowing or just keep looking for a sign when we will need to make the call. Dh and I feel like we are in mourning everyday. Once again, I am very sorry.

Oh Melissa I'm so sorry. I know just what your going thru. Poor old Cosmo was taking 14 pills a day for the last 6 months.

But if I can give you one piece of advice it's this: don't mourn Zola yet. Dogs are so sensitive & she'll feel your sorrow. Make her last weeks or months (or even years--you just never know!) happy ones. Give her lots of love, let her pig out whenever she wants, keep the treats handy, & make her feel special. When it's time for her it's time, but do your best to not let her know something is wrong.

And always remember, we're all here for you. I know a lot of people I've talked to about this don't think it's a big deal b/c they just don't get it. So many of us here have gone thru this painful experience, & we do understand.
