Hope you are safe with the flood waters left by Irene. Watching the news all the time. Upstate NY got it bad but it looks like your area is worse.

I live in upstate NY and there are thousands of people without power. A friend was just here that lives maybe 3 miles from me. She has no water, no power and a flooded house. We were very lucky to get our power back Tuesday evening. I live in town so that probably helped. Where does LauraMax live? Some parts of this area are devastated. Upstate NY has never seen anything like this. Hope all is well with her.

LauraMax lives in NJ not far from Philly. My sister lives in upstate NY and has power without flooding. Although, far different not too far from their home.

Aw thanks JT, so sweet of you to be thinking of me! Actually I live in north Jersey just outside of NYC. We got hit pretty hard. Didn't lose power, but went without water for 3 days. I will never take a flushing toilet & a hot shower for granted again! Some of my friends lost power AND water. Some are still waiting to have it restored. Still have to boil water for drinking, but at least I have a working restroom again.

Biggest problem this week has been the cleanup. I live in an old community with lots & lots of large trees, many of which fell. Lots of roads blocked, lots of property damage (fortunately none of which was mine), horrible traffic jams b/c so many roads blocked.

But I think we were pretty lucky. Compare it with NOLA & this was a cakewalk. I just hope I never have to go without water again.
