Laura Lippman mysteries

Maddiesmum, I just wanted to thank you for suggesting these. I'm reading Baltimore Blues and really liking it. I know many here like Stephanie Plum, but she is a bit over the top for me. Tess Monaghan is just as spunky as Stephanie Plum, but a bit more believable. AND she's a runner whose goal is to bench press 120 lbs. I'd PM you, but I thought others might be interested. Thanks so much!! :)

Hey Nancy:

you are welcome. I love Tess Monaghan and re-read these novels every second year or so. They are well thought out mysteries, believable crimes, often humorous moments, and Tess grows and changes over the course of the novels, she grows up, gets better as a PI, but matures in the way she views relationships too, especially with Crow whom you may or may not have been introduced to yet. Hopefully, this is a teaser, not a spoiler! But Laura Lipmann is just so intelligent a writer, so hopeful about Baltimore's future, a great documentarist of Baltimore lore and history. It's also a welcome departure to read about a PI and her life that is not set in either LA or NY!!

Enjoy!
