Thanks for posting this, Nance. I've seen it before and yes, it made a pretty big impression on me, too. DH just watched it with me and he was really moved by it, too.
My DH was standing nearby when I opened your post. He had heard about this as well and watched the video with me. We were both moved by Randy Pausch's words. He certainly has me thinking about the things I am doing well (and not so well) in my own life. Thanks for posting this.
I've seen this a couple of times and it's unbelievable. He is quite a phenomenal human being. It's too bad that such talented, inspirational, amazing people have to die so early.
Thank you so much for posting this. My DH and I have been through some tough times lately and there were so many lessons to be learned by watching this. Thanks again.
The original lecture at Carnegie Mellon took place a few months earlier, and was over an hour long. If you search under his name, you can find the full lecture on youtube.
I don't get Parade, but thank you so much for posting this article. The thing that impresses me most about this guy is the legacy he is leaving for his kids. It occurs to me that even if Prof. Pausch dies tomorrow, his kids will have had more fathering than many kids get in a lifetime. This guy is a total winner in every sense of the word.
There's also an ABC Primetime Special coming on this Wednesday 10pm called The Last Lecture: A Love Story for Your Life.
I think it's Diane Sawyer that is going to be interviewing him.
