Ladybug, Ladybug, Fly AWAY! Please! :)

We are overrun with ladybugs.

Actually, they are invasive Japanese lady beetles.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Or have a brother, cousin, spouse in pest control who might be able to advise me? I've done some research but am getting all sorts of conflicting advice.

The situation is this: one day last fall I noticed hundreds of these ladies flying around the front porch. I went upstairs to find another hundred or so on the bedroom ceiling. To make a long story short, they were looking for a place to overwinter and decided I had the best rates in town apparently. Spent the next two weeks vacuuming lady beetles off my ceiling and windows. All was quiet for the winter. Now that it's spring they are back, though not in force, as most have already flown off for the spring/summer. But I can't just let it go because according to what I've read, if I don't treat them ASAP I'll end with tens of thousands of them eventually. So I'm trying to figure out the best way to treat them, and, if I should treat in spring and fall or just in fall. ANY help is appreciated!!

TIA!

We dealt with it too I just keep vacuuming them up. Then one year had sweet ants and I am a clean freak so everything is in containers and locked up We had our flooring redone last year so far this year is antfree. My mom and dad had someone spray for ladybugs and it did not stop them from returning. I notice some years just a few and other years they are taking over. My hubby told me it is poor siding job I don't know if that applies to you or not.

It's a relief to know that I am not alone! :) My house doesn't have poor siding but it's an antique home so there is no way I could seal everything up. Bummer to hear the spraying didn't do anything. :(

Ah well, it could be worse.
