We are overrun with ladybugs.
Actually, they are invasive Japanese lady beetles.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Or have a brother, cousin, spouse in pest control who might be able to advise me? I've done some research but am getting all sorts of conflicting advice.
The situation is this: one day last fall I noticed hundreds of these ladies flying around the front porch. I went upstairs to find another hundred or so on the bedroom ceiling. To make a long story short, they were looking for a place to overwinter and decided I had the best rates in town apparently. Spent the next two weeks vacuuming lady beetles off my ceiling and windows. All was quiet for the winter. Now that it's spring they are back, though not in force, as most have already flown off for the spring/summer. But I can't just let it go because according to what I've read, if I don't treat them ASAP I'll end with tens of thousands of them eventually. So I'm trying to figure out the best way to treat them, and, if I should treat in spring and fall or just in fall. ANY help is appreciated!!
TIA!

Even after all this time the earth never says to the sun, "you owe me." Look what happens with a love like that.
It lights the whole sky.
