This is not preg. related but I figured I'd get your attention better here. LOL

I saw that you & DH are in to muscle cars. Does he (or you for that matter) race? My husband is into drag racing, BIG time. I can't tell you the thousands of $$ he has spent. Right now he has a 74 Nova which he races and he has a 70 Chevelle that he wants to restore. The Chevelle needs to be totally done over - he wants to do it over for Gabe, who is only 4!!! Racing starts up this weekend. We spend EVERY Sunday at the races from now until the last week of October.

My 4 year old can tell you any car make, year and model. He isn't really into Matchbox/Hot Wheels b/c we have found Johnny Lightening and Muscle Machine brands that are all about muscle cars.

Just wanted to let you know you have a fellow muscle car fan here at Cathe!

You got a nice chuckle out of me. Your son is so adorable! Alexander (DS) will probably be the same. He loves cars too. DH once told me I never have to worry about another woman turning his head, but he can't say the same about old cars. To this day it has rang true.

We don't race, but that isn't to say that DH would not like to eventually. It sounds like a lot of fun! At the moment DH is having lots of fun with the motorcycle he bought the end of last year. It is his first and he loves the power. In other words, he doesn't obey the speed limit, but he follows all the safety rules and wears all the gear. He is even taking an advanced motorcycle class next weekend. Last year he took the beginner class.

So far the plans for my grandmother's '75 Nova is to fix it up for DS when he begins to drive. DS will only be 3 in June. The Nova isn't the cool looking one but rather the hatchback. It is an ugly green color. So we will need to paint it eventually. DH also wants to eventually repaint the Camaro. It is his "baby". He rebuilt the engine from the ground up about 6 years ago.

It is great to hear from another car enthusiast. They are so much fun. I don't think people realize how much fun they are until you actually drive one. They are so different from today's cars. My DH converted me after we got married.

Hope you two do not mind me eavesdropping!

DH and I raced when we were dating. He had a 1970-something Chevy Vega that was not street legal. We raced outside of Ft. Worth, Texas. After we married and moved to NC, we had to sell the car, trailer and truck because there were not enough tracks.

Now we are rebuilding a 1952 Chevy truck that he and his Dad started in 1978 but never finished. It is a lot of fun. We hope to have it done before the baby comes.

I love to hear about more women that enjoy cars-I think it is all a blast!

leighanntx1- Please feel free to join in the conversation. It is always great to meet others with common interests.

Leignanntx1 we don't mind at all. I don't really know many women whose husbands are into racing and/or cars. It's nice to know that I"m not the only one.

My DH is also always on e-bay either trying to find a certain part or selling one part or another.

It is an expensive hobby but it keeps him out of trouble. ;-)

Thanks for letting me join in :)

It is an expensive hobby but I love that what my husband likes to do in his free time is right at home in the garage. And we both enjoy so much going to car shows all over town on the weekends. It is nice that we both enjoy cars.
