KPC vs Amy Bento Kickbox Xtreme?

I Netflixed Amy Bento Kickbox Xtreme and previewed it briefly. Does anyone know how it compares to Cathe's KPC? In intensity level or calorie burn for those with HR monitors...

Thanks,
Heather

It depends on what you're looking for. KPC is a better KB workout, HLX burns more cals but is more hi/lo than KB. According to my HRM I burn an extra 75 cals or so w/HLX.

That said, if I had to choose I'd go w/KPC. It's lower impact & more serious KB.

Ooops, sorry, I kept calling KBX HLX. My bad!

Kickbox Xtreme is more choreographed than KPC so you probably won't get the intensity until you can get the choreography under your belt. Amy does put a few intervals in between each combo. KPC is more drill-type stuff but does have 3 combos. I get a nice sweaty workout with both but personally, I now prefer Kickbox Xtreme because it's just more fun for me.

apples and peaches in this case. while both are pretty good workouts and find them comparable in intensity, it also depends on how well you work with choregraphy. cathe builds up combos in KPC but nothing over the top fancy or switching directions and spinning. you will get all that with KBX. KBX also has intervals of fast paced combos that make it damn near impossible to do with true kickbox form unlike you get with cathe's KPC.

i love both workouts but if you want a kickbox workout KPC if you want a kickbox inspired workout, KBX

JMO!

I have both and love them both. KPC is strait forward kickboxing. but I love the music and the combos. Amy is her usual all over the place with choreography like said above. But if you like that then you'll have lots of fun! It takes a few times to get hers totally down. I can do it with my eyes closed now though. ha

Thanks for the replies everyone! I can pick up choreography really quickly (20+ years of dance training helps LOL). My sister made the decision for me on which one to do tonight though - she borrowed my KPC DVD over the weekend and only returned the case (grrrr). Oh well, it'll force me to try something new.

I like Amy's DVDs that I do have, to an extent. Sometimes her routines seem spastic to me. I almost always reach for Cathe's workout over any others.

Thanks again!
