"Knit and Fit" Thursday

Happy Thursday Fit Knitters:

My two daughters knit. They got the knitting gene. Therefore, my stash includes their yarn as well. Not only do they knit from the stash, but also they contribute to it. Lately I have been making an effort to knit from the stash. The cotton sweater that I am knitting is from the stash. I will knit the sweater for the KAL that I joined in the fall from the stash.

Joycet: Most of the time you can estimate how much yarn you will need to knit something. Part of the fun of having a stash is finding the perfect pattern or adapting the pattern to the yarn you have on hand. If you meet the gauge, usually the yardage required in the pattern will hold true.

Amy: I buy yarn when it “calls” to me. Usually the color and feel are the deciding factors….and don’t forget cost. I have a lot of quilting projects to finish, however I have not felt the “calling”. I also have some Knitty Gritty shows saved on my DVR. Last night I saw a program with fingerless gloves made with patterning sock yarn. Time to hit the stash.......

Joanne: Although I have not watched it, another program about knitting on DIY Network is “Knit One, Purl Two”. http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/shows_knt/

Time to go the basement and do the Kickmax Low Impact Time Saver and Abs.

Regards,

Rhonda
