knee problem???

I am not sure what I did...but man oh man my knee hurts. I was just doing KPC on FitTV with Cathe...and during one of the jumps or something, I think I might have landed wrong. My left knee is really hurting - enough that I aborted the rest of the workout for tonight. It was major hard to use that knee to get up the stairs. The pain runs right along the front of my knee...not when I'm just walking around, but if I try to put more load on that leg - like with stairs or jumping with that leg. Do you think I just tightened something up, or should I be worried. I'm really bummed because I was just signing up for a cardio kickbox class as well as a step aerobics class. Maybe I'll ice it down, take a walk tonight and keep my fingers crossed that it'll be better in the morning.

Thanks!

Amy

Oh yeah - my husband said to me "no more Cathe for awhile"! Is he crazy or what?!?!?!?

I dont think yourve "tightened" something up Amy, I think yourve "pulled" something.

Ice is a good idea, but if it still troubles you tomorrow, I wouldnt step or kick anymore tell you get it checked out. Proberly the "worst" two things you can do with a "bummed" knee.

Dont dismiss ANY injury because they dont get better by ignoring them

You have to stay in shape. My grandmother started walking when she was 60. Today she is 97 and we don't know where the hell she is! - Ellen DeGeneres

i agree with claridge that its a pulled muscle. rr and some ice! i wouldnt even workout except abs then very gradually start exercising again. weights add pressure. see doc after couple of weeks.the older u get the longer it takes to heal. i pulled a muscle in june of 2004 and it is still not totally healed but almost. whatever hurts, dont do it.

I twisted my knee showing my dog in Agility, wearing high top sneakers, ( really stupid!), and when I turned, my knee did not.. I still feel better wearing one of those velcro knee braces whenever I do squats, step ups etc. You may want to get one of those, they really help.
