Klutz Club Check In

Keep running into things? Dropping them weights?

So far for me:

hit my head on the barbell off our new Smith Machine
put my fingers into the ceiling fan
dropped 15lb plates on my two middle fingers
fell from a few workouts (off ball and on head) not at one time. LOL

Charlotte~~

Not workout related, but I fell/walked in the wall the other night when trying to get out of bed. My sense of balance. . . sheesh. . .

Hey Charlotte. I can relate. I just put my head into the ceiling fan while doing Bootcamp. That could've been a disaster. The other day I stepped too much to the front of my step and went headfirst into the entertainment unit. Again, that could've been worse.
And Sunday night, not workout related, I fell down my steps. No injuries thankfully.
I walk into things and hurt my fingers a lot. DH says it's because I move way too fast. My thoughts are too fast for my body to execute.:7
Oh well.
Kali

Not workout related but I dropped a knife right on the top of my bare foot!!! Yeow!!...(I said something worse) thankfully it was the wooden handle and not the blade part....:)...Carole

I fell down my stairs in February and still have problems with a broken tailbone -- keeps my off my butt though! :)

My boyfriend keeps asking me to work on my balance before our scuba trip in August. Last August we went shore diving and I had to walk over algae covered rocks with waves crashing over them with all my scuba gear on - NOT fun for someone as klutzy as me! BUT - my "turtle stuck upside down" impression was very entertaining. :p

Not work out related---I constantly bang my arm, elbow or hand into corners and door jams as I walk by them. I guess I swing my arms freely w/o even realizing it and walk too close to something and WHAM! I curse every time! x(

No work out injuries to report since before I started doing Cathe. I was doing a Firm work out with in the first couple months of my pregnancy and I was using the purple portion of the FL for one of thier aerobic/step work outs and I tripped over it and fell on my a$$! LOL :7 Actually tho, there were no injuries to speak off..except for a bruised ego ;( ...but it COULD have resulted in something pretty awful as I was very close to taking a header into a piece of furniture...or the wall!

...Oh god I hope I don't jinx myself...I have yet to do BC today and I'd really hate to drop a dumb bell on my foot or something!

Ya'll are cracking me up! LOL!
:+ :+ :+ :+
Keep them coming!

I usually do something klutzy everyday, but just thought I would list my "workout" klutzie's. My hubby calls me his little drummer girl because I am always banging things around that sometimes end up falling on my foot, etc. I put my shoes on half way when just going to the mailbox etc. I have almost twisted my ankle several times from just being in a rush.

This isn't workout related either but about 3 years ago we were living in a trailer while DH was building our house. The hallway was very long, narrow and dark. I got home from work one day and I had to pee so badly I ran full force down the hallway. Someone (probably me) had left the closet door open and I ran right into the door. I saw stars. And my forehead had a nice bruise on it for a few weeks.

Workout related: was doing LowMax on Sunday and totally misjudged the step. Thank goodness I caught myself before I tripped.

I was exercising on my step one morning when I tripped and fell over my exercise equipment and hit the wall. this was at 5 in the morning and I just knew my dh heard this. I was so embarrassed. But he said he heard nothing. yeah right! It sounded like a bomb hit the house. I have also caught my finger in the fan doing cathe workout. I have also while putting my handweights down smashed my fingers. Yikes!!

Yesterday when I was doing that ab exercise in CoreMax where you hold the stability ball between your legs and rotate your waste - I dropped my stability ball right on my face. It hurt like a punch in the nose. Luckily, I'm not bruised.

Charlotte, I haven't done dangerous things like you, but I am very klutzy with coreographies. It took me about two months to master Mega Step Blast. Also, when walking around at home, I hit the walls and, ouch! the corner of the table or desk! Happens a lot. LOL.

BTW, I saw you your pictures and you are very pretty. You live in a beautiful place, also. Where is it?

I am a HUGE klutz! Let's see my first step class in a gym we were going sideways over the step and the instructor got on one end of my step to show me how and I got so flustered that after she left I hit the side of the step and the step went flying. Also, I spilled RED nailpolish on my step (it's still there :(!), sat on a pair of scissors (not workout related thank goodness!), have dropped too many glasses to count ... oh the list is endless! My mom is also a klutz so when I was 3 yrs old she signed me up for ballet lessons...I took them for 8 years and well ... still a klutzo! But hey it makes for some funny stories right?! :(!!!

I've had a few humbling experience working out. I have been hit by the ceiling fan doing power 15's more times than I care to mention, that smarts. I crashed (with style and grace, of course ;-) ) during AllStep about 5 weeks ago and sprained my ankle, I'm just getting my full range of motion back now. Last year doing PUB I was being a lazy sod and stayed down on the bench between sets, when I was putting my 12#ers down after chest work I let them go to soon and caught my ring fingertip between my 15's and the 12's, I lived with a blue nail for a few months then the whole thing fell off. It was pretty yukky but I always get up between sets now.
I used to workout around 5 a.m. and was a lot more prone to clumsiness at that hour.
I fell off of the roof of my house in '98 and didn't hurt myself at all, I broke the fall with a bounce and roll off of a sloped roof shed then 'POOF' spread eagle on my back in a big pile of snow:+
I fell down 6 steps in my house over a year ago and had to get my kids to call an ambulance to peel my sorry carcass off of the floor. I tore some sacral ligament and my lats and still feel that one to this day.
I could go on but that's enough for now.:p

Take Care
Laurie:)

I'm a huge klutz. I swear EVERY time I get weights out I smash my fingers, either between plates, or between dumbells.

I haven't ever fallen off my step, but I've come close SO many times. Or I won't lift my foot high enough and I trip.

Not workout related, but I have constant bruises on my legs from walking into the corner of my desk at work.

Around Christmas, I was going downstairs at home, and didn't turn the light on. I slipped and fell down the stairs, hitting the metal railing with my butt on the way. Had HUGE black and purple bruises.

I shut my fingers in drawers all the time.

When I did quick jacks in KPC or KM, my two hands always hit each other. One time, my left hand gave my right hand a long deep scratch. When I did Imax 3 in early 5:00am, I tripped myself, almost fell to the concrete floor.

Not workout related, occationally, I had my figners jammed when I closed the door or draw. Ouch...x(

Oh, here's a good one. I sliced my butt open with my razor while shaving my legs in the shower. Reached behind me to rinse the foam out of the razor and misjudged and sliced myself. Think: big paper cut on your backside:p

About 1 1/2 years ago, I fell down the stairs in my own house. It was awful! My foot slipped on the first few and my spine hit about 4 steps. I was in so much pain and I tried to stand (I was about halfway down by then). I must've went into shock because I fainted. This time I fell forward.

When I opened my eyes again, I was lying with my face on the floor and my body sprawled on the stairs. I also had pieces of a tooth I chipped on the way down. I had some ugly scabs all over my face for about a week. It looked like I got a good beating!:p

I was doing IMAX 3 a couple months ago and I think it's in the 1st blast, when you jump with both feet on the step and down the step on the other side and so on. Well, I didn't jump high enough and got stuck on the step and crashed on my side! x( That hurt, I had a bruise on my shin and a big bruise on my ego to do IMAX 3. I stopped right after it happenend and haven't attempt it since :(

Kristine :)
