KK's May Check In

Hello...

Jeanette - sorry to hear of your loss. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Good Afternoon!:)

Jeanette, my heart goes out to you, as well. Thank you for being so kindhearted that you stayed with her to the end. I'm sure in another place and in another time, she will be the source of great happiness for others.

Love,
Kay

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all had a nice Mother's Day.

Now, for me anyway, is time for weeks of really great workouts. Hitting it hard cause I've gained weight. It just creeps up on you all of a sudden.

Today, Joey and I will do lower body and will continue weight training every other day. Probably Butts and Guts again. It's a tough one, but oh so worth it. The next day will be interval cardio, every other day, or the days where weight lifting is not involved.

Have to work in the garden until Joey get home from class, then we'll do our exercises.

Have a great day!

Good morning,
Today was the Upper Body Premix from Muscle Endurance. Good workout. I will do a bike hill climb tonite. Last night was playing golf with a girlfriend. It was a beautiful evening. The course was so pretty and green. My lesson helped a lot. Yesterday I didn't workout in the morning as Monday is my new rest day.

Janie, how was Butts and Guts? That's a goodie for sure. I decided not to work legs this morning as I have the local tough hill to climb after work. Want those legs as fresh as possible for that bad boy. My triathlon relay is on Sunday so after today's hill climb, won't do any more hard leg days or riding.

Hi Rhea and Karen.

Thanks to everyone for your sympathies during Grandma's passing. We will miss her.

Jeanette

Hi!

Just a really quick post. I'm in a rush to get home -- my brother-in-law is dying and so I am hurrying home. I'll catch up a bit later, but just thought I'd better let you know what's happening.

More later.

Love,
Kay

Oh My Gosh KK!

First Jeanette and then you.

Lots of (((((hugs))))) to you both. This is so sad.

Take your time coming back to the forums. We'll be here when you get back.

Karen,
I'm so sorry to hear of your BIL. Many prayers and hugs to you. Be careful in your travels and post when you can. ((((Hugs))))

Jeanette

Morning,
Today was Christi Taylor's Cardio Collectibles (step). It's warmer here this morning and I was sweating like crazy. Did a tough hill climb last night (Janesville Grade), but I made it to the top without stopping. There were 4 of us riders for it. That one never gets any easier. However, I'm pretty well set for my triathlon relay in Auburn this Sunday. I'll be doing the bike segment of it. Should be fun!

Karen, (((hugs))) to you. Got to be a tough time. Prayers out to your BIL.

Hi to Janie & Rhea, hope you guys are okay too.

Jeanette

Good mornin,

Good Lord Jeanette, you are so strong. Keep it going, you are terrific!

It is warmer here as well. Within the next two days coming, it should finely reach about 80. I's about time.

Joey and I will do MM today and our own cardio tomorrow. Christi Taylor's Collectibles sounds good to me.

Rhea and KK have great workouts too.

Take care everyone,

Janie

Hi,
Today was an upper body premix from Supersets, then added on the abs from this one. Great, short workout. Done in around 45 minutes max. Love those.

Janie, enjoy your cardio of choice today. I just love Christi's stuff. It's warmer here again. Should be in the 90's by this weekend! Yikes. I'm going down to the valley on Saturday and it's expected to be around 101 degrees. Good thing my bike relay is in the morning before it heats up!

Jeanette

Good morning!

Is it really supposed to be that warm here this weekend? Wow.

Karen - hope things are going okay with you. ((((Hugs)))) to you and DH.

Janie - I love Christi's stuff too. Her workouts get me good and sweaty.

Jeanette - I sure hope you do well on the triathlon. Glad it is in the morning. I can't believe it is supposed to be so warm this weekend. I guess I had better get out the summer clothes.

Well, no workout for me yesterday. It was a trip to the dentist to replace the filling I lost. The new stuff they give us for numbing has adreneline in it and that wires me. I can't workout after without getting a low blood sugar surge. Plus I was just bummed since the x-ray showed an internal abcess on another tooth and I have to go to a specialist for the root canal. Doc was wondering if I was having problems with my sinuses this year. I thought it was just allergy stuff. Plus, it would explain why I would be nice and healthy for a while, but tend to run out of umpf. Sometimes being healthy can mask the little stuff! I've been fighting off an infection for who knows how long. Of course this morning I woke up with a stuffed head, gooey eyes and now I know why. I'm also a bit sore from my workouts. I did GS legs timesaver on Tues before golfing. Even with the short workout, my little leggies are sore. Golf was fun, surprised me how well I hit the ball. Shoulder survivied. I want to keep up the distance I've been hitting though, I almost drove the ball over the ditch on number four!! I was only about 10 feet short. That got me hooked again. I just have to be careful about my shoulder.

Anyhoo, I've been rambling. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning,
Today was Cardio Fusion (step only). Tonite will be the easy bike spin. I'll be leaving sometime tomorrow for Auburn but will be back on Sunday afternoon.

Rhea, darn on the dental work. I've heard of people getting the adrenaline surge and reactions to novacaine or whatever it is they inject. Glad you enjoyed the golf. Wow, hitting it almost over the ditch on #4? Wow, takes me 2 drives to get over it. Know you will be careful with the shoulder.

Janie, hope you are doing okay. How's the writing coming?

Karen, prayers and thoughts out to your family.

Jeanette

Mornin,

Having a cup of Joe before I work out in the garden. It's already 60 degrees and will be near 90 today. Yikes!

Jeanette, It was fun doing Christy's stuff. I did sweat. Good luck in Auburn for the triathlon. Go Jeanette! Haven't written for a while but started up again yesterday. The cold I had was an excuse not to do it. I have to motivate myself better than that. shame on me.

Rhea, Eeeeeewwwww, all that talk bout abscesses. I'm so sorry you have to go through this. But glad yo are doing something about it. Your golfing! WOW! That's all I can say. Have fun!

KK, (((((hugs))))) to you girl. We love you.

Stay healthy everyone.

Good Evening!:)

The drive home was intense -- 12 hour driving days and it took me 3 1/2 days, but I had too much stuff to fly, plus I really don't like flying. My daughters were here when I got here and my mother-in-law is still here. My brother-in-law is still with us, but hanging on by a thread. He's a toughy. The kind of cancer he has, people usually die within 6-9 months, but he's been holding on for 3 1/2 years. But right now, he has lost so much weight and can barely move, let alone talk, it's very hard for him, for us, as well, I think, but in a different way.

Some of my stuff I put in storage, and that included in error, all of my exercise DVD's. So I'm here working out on only those that I have on VHS -- and I don't have many of Cathe's on VHS -- so I'll probably be working out to the Intensity series the entire 1-2 months that I'm home.

Now, how wonderful it is to be home. What will-power it is going to take to go back and finish off this course. But anyway, I'm here to help in anyway that I can, and I hope I'll be able to be of assistance to my husband and to my BIL, himself.

This is the first day I've exercised since I heard about my BIL and it was Cardio & Weights. Tomorrow I'll try to do more -- probably IMAX2.

Jeanette, have you ever read Dr. Weston A. Price's work on root canals? If you can get ahold of a copy of his work, he did much, much research on root canals, and declared them to be dangerous. I'm only mentioning this because I had an intense reaction to a root canal that sent me into a spin physically. After years of thinking my health was deteriorating, I found Dr. Price's work and had the tooth removed. We discovered that the tooth was cracked (it didn't show up as cracked on X-ray) and so all the poisonous material inside the root canal was seeping into my body, thus making me very sick. After the tooth was removed, my health returned and I've never looked back. But I don't think I'd ever get another root canal. Any chance of doing a bridge?

Some people do okay with root canals, but I know in Europe, they use different, more bio compatible material, than we do here. For health reasons. Sorry to mention this, but it was a real situation for me that sent my into a spin health wise, and lasted for about 2 years or so until I read Dr. Price's work. If you can get a copy of the book, HEALING WITH WHOLE FOODS, by Paul Pitchford, on page 627, he goes into Dr. Price's work pretty well and discusses what happens. At least it's something to think about. Health food stores often have this book for sale, and you might just go and read that section. He also discusses alternatives and recommendations.

Okay, so that's all for now. Hi Jeanette & Janie! Thank you for your well wishes. So appreciated. You doing okay, Rhea?

Have a super day!:7

KK,

I''m so glad you made it home safely. I've driven that far every Fall, so I know how it can be. But never in a sad and worried state of mined.

I'm so sorry you have to go back to finish the course. That will be hard. And yet you are here for us as you say. Bless your heart sweety.

You just do what needs to be done to get through this, we'll always be here. What can we do for you? Prayers your way and to your beautiful family.

(((((hugs))))),

Janie

Good Evening!:)

Thanks, Janie. Makes me feel good. It is tough, I must say. So hard to see this sweet, sweet man in this condition.

It was no workout for me today. Since I've been home, it seems all I've done is try to make the environment better and that means cleaning, cleaning, and more cleaning. But maybe that's good. Today I cleaned up Bob's room, the porches outside of his and my workroom and finished cleaning the rest of the house, laundry, and made a cake for my DH's birthday. Plus we had visitors, which was wonderful to see my friends.

Tomorrow, I'm hoping to get back on the exercise lineup as I've fallen off of it lately. I'll try to do IMAX2 -- one of my favorites.

Jeanette, do you know if Rhea is Okay? Haven't heard from her in a while.

Take care, everyone and have a super day!:7

Good morning,
No workout for me yesterday except playing golf in the evening. My triathlon bike relay was fun but very tough on Sunday, due to the heat in Auburn. Think it was in the upper 90's and really affected me, but I made it thru. We have had no HOT weather up here yet so I haven't acclimated yet. Usually takes me a couple weeks before I feel okay riding in the heat on the climbs.

Today's workout was Pyramid Upper Body - up premix only. The stability ball abs is always hard for me as I think my arms give out as they are fried. Will do a bike hill climb tonite with the ladies.

Karen, (((hugs))) to you. Know it's incredibly hard to watch someone dying. Just went thru it with Grandma. I hope your BIL doesn't have to suffer too long. Must feel good to be home though. You have been gone such a long time. Did the dogs remember you? Think you were meaning to tell Rhea about the root canal, not me. Not sure where she is but I imagine she's just been busy.

Janie, hope that cold of yours is history. Mine turned out to be allergy that hung on. No more post nasal drip, thank goodness. Bet the garden is really growing with the heat.

Rhea, hope you are doing well. I golfed the back nine last night. It was a bit warm but nice to be out. Hope your shoulder isn't bothering you any more.

Gotta run,

Jeanette

Morning!

Haven't been able to check in......not much time at work M-W.

(((HUGS))) to you and your family Karen. I know what you mean with the cleaning. I'm getting anxious over our house which is in complete chaos again.

No workouts for me since the laundry room and the other bathroom is completely ripped apart. So getting them done is first priority. Of course when I put my clothes on this morning I was frustrated. I need the workouts and diet to be more up there in the priorities! So I guess I need to really concentrate on the diet for a while since workouts need to be put on hold. Can't be without laundry facilities for long.

Well, tomorrow I'm in training in Reno and then a dentist appointment on Thursday morning. Yes, it was me that is getting the darn root canal, maybe, depends on the specialist. I can say that the antibiotics have had an effect on whatever is going on since my head is not so clogged when I get up in the morning.

Well, gotta run, court in a few minutes. Have a great day everyone!

KK, We've been so busy around here with our projects. For me the garden and for Joe, a protected enclosure for our animals to run and play outside, so other animals can't harm them. Neighbors dogs and other cats, and local wild life. Weeds have taken over and one area a little at a time I', conquering. Using vinegar and salt on the paths and pulling them in the gardens. I will win, it's a matter of time. Bringing in bark and shoveling over those nasty things. Staying out there for hours, at a time, so haven't been working out with DVD's. It would be too much. Rainy today so will do a CC or iTrain. That's another story to be told. I asked both Cardio (CC) and iTrain for a free full length version of one of their products to try and they both gave me one. That was wonderful of them! WOW! So, today is treadmill with CC in my head. Look like you are kind of sorta getting back to normal. I've also been with with loved ones before they passed away. It's so very hard. Do take care of yourself. I'm afraid that soon I'll be next to my mom any month now. It's just a matter of time.

Jeanette, I've been thinking about you with the triathlon. Heat can be miserable. How did you do in it? Glad you still find the time to golf. My cold is completely gone now, and doing more than normal things, since the nice weather is trying to get here. I'm planting more plants outside as it continues to get warmer. Not everything is out yet but it will be in 2 or 3 weeks.

Rhea, Did you go for more dentist work for the abscessed tooth? If so, how did it go? Haven't heard from you for awhile, so assuming you are having a hard time. Hope not. Let us know how your are doing.

Take care everyone,

Janie
