KK's March Check-In

Rhea, I think you can count tiling as weight lifting. Sounds like you are very busy. Slow down a little if you can. I'm running out of breath just reading about it!:7 I bet the entry way will be beautiful. I see your vacation will be just as busy.:-( Your bathroom will be beautiful as well. When do you think you will be finished with all the tiling?

KK, I'm so sorry to hear about your cut finger. Did you get stitches? Can you still type? How did it happen? Hope everything will be fine with you.:-( Sounds like your computer is still broken. Hope everything will be OK soon.

Jeanette, I can't believe it's golf time already! Good for you. Joey and I used to work out years ago, but since this incident, he has started exercising with me once again. It was on my list of "Things That Would Make Me Happy". He's trying so hard and succeeding. I'm proud of him and starting to trust him again.

Today is cardio for us. I'll be doing HIS cardio only and maybe a treadmill interval for 30 min later tonight. Joe will do his own thing today.

You guys, are so great. I couldn't have picked a better Check-In for myself.

Janie

Good Evening!:)

Writing wasn't all that it should have been today -- not many pages. When I went out for groceries, I hit a bird (I was going very slowly thank goodness.) I stopped and went back and found the bird which was still alive, but couldn't fly -- it was a gray bird with white on its wings and tail. So I petted it (her), got a box for it and called around and someone from the Humane Society came and picked it up and said that they would fix her foot -- she had broken her foot -- and let her go back into the wild when she was well. I was with her for about 1 1 /2 hours until the Humane Society came, talking softly to her and petting her. I'm not sure if I should go and visit the bird or not -- am thinking about it, though. It did my heart good to see these good people doing these good things for these animals.

Anyway, it was CTX Power Circuits today. Love these CTX workouts.

Jeanette, I love Cardio & Weights -- the Intensity series is still my favorite series I think -- all those workouts are phenomenal. Bet it was beautiful playing golf -- the area you live in is so gorgeous. You'll love Bootcamp from 4DS. I really like those workouts, also.

Rhea, love how you throw yourself into these projects. I'm impressed. Bet it will be beautiful, too. I need to get some more of Charlene's workouts. I really liked them, that's for sure.

Janie, the finger is doing really well -- it doesn't even hurt and I thought it would cause it bled so much. I didn't get stitches -- just am wrapping it tightly. No, my computer's not fixed yet -- am awaiting my computer guy to come home and then I'll take it in -- maybe -- depends on my writing -- I really must concentrate. x( Thanks for all your compliments, Janie -- you know that we feel the same way about you.

Edited to add that I cut the finger while cutting up lemon for my juice feasting drink. Deep sigh.

Have a super day tomorrow and some wonderful workouts!:7

Good morning,
No workout for me this morning, but I'm doing a bike ride after work today. Got my hair cut and colored yesterday. Looks good (I think).

Karen, hope the finger is feeling better. So glad someone could take care of the little bird. You have a kind heart.

Rhea, the tiling sounds good. Maybe sometime I can come over and see the tiling in your bathroom once you start? I'd like to do ours too.

Janie, I like HIS too. So wonderful that you and your DH are working out together! Bliss!!

Gotta run,

Jeanette

Good Evening!:)

It was CTX 10-10-10 for me today. Really like this CTX series -- I've written to Cathe to suggest she do anohter CTX series. I find myself reaching for this over and over.

Jeanette, are you okay, or still suffering with the cold? Remember that colostrum (mother's milk) should help to get you over that -- you can get in a Health Food store.

Am glad that you like your hair -- us women -- it really makes a difference, doesn't it? My hairdresser from LA is here for a few days and I was asking her if she might consider doing my hair while she is here -- but I don't think she'll have the time. ;) ;)

My time is so limited here I've gotten into washing it and just letting it dry -- something I do at home, but never out and about. But with the time being such a factor right now...

Hi Rhea! Hi Janie!

Got 7 pages written today -- am hoping to do more tomorrow.

Have a super day everyone and some terrific workouts!:7

Morning,
Did LIS (cardio only) and then Pyramid Upper Body Up premix (no abs). Good workout. Never got the bike ride in yesterday as it was raining after work. Will try again for that bike ride today.

Karen, nice you can wash and dry your hair. I have to dry with a blower, then curl a little bit. Doesn't take me long as my hair is short. I'll have to hit the health food store for the colostrum. This cold is pesky and hanging on to a bit of cough. I heard someone else refer to it as the 100 day cough.

Hi to Rhea and Janie,

Jeanette

Good morning!

Guess I forgot to post yesterday. I don't even remember if I got to read them....hmmm. You know, probably not. I was very busy yesterday until the afternoon. My body was so tired that I just went home and took a nap. My darn neck was spasming a bit, so no workout and no tiling. I must have just moved a bit wrong during court yesterday and my neck didn't like it.

Well, I had better run. Not sure if there are any workouts for today. I have got to get the rest of the tile down since we may need to walk on that area tomorrow evening.

KK, You are so much like me. I would have helped the bird also. You should feel good about yourself, most people wouldn't have done that.

Jeanette, I'm also thinking about a new hairdo, just don't know yet what I want. Hope you feel better soon. Colds are just miserable.

Rhea, you are working to hard. Glad you were able to rest a little. Take care of yourself.

Today was a rest day for me. Tomorrow will do deep muscle exercises.

I'm so proud of myself! I designed a stand alone ballet bar and had no help in building it at all. I must have saved at least a couple of hundred dollars. It's sturdy and mobile. I used my husbands old conduit pipes (I eyed them because they were 3" round and wouldn't hurt when you put your foot or leg onto it) and then went to Lowe's to get pvc connectors to put it all together.

Now I'm ready for Calanetics and The Bar Method. I like to do these kind of exercises when I have a week off from weight lifting. I start doing them tomorrow. I used a chair before, yuck!

I tried it out a little bit today, and it holds weight very well and it's comfortable.

Now to try and talk my hubby in joining me. He was proud of me because he wowed! Made me feel good.

Great exercises everyone.

Janie

Good Evening!:)

Let's see -- it was CTX Intervals for me today -- how I love the CTX series. And 6 pages today, as well. Not enough, but it's okay production.

Jeanette, do you have that footwork down on the HIS -- I see that you did LIS, which I think I like a little better than HIS, if only cause I can do the footwork.:+ Sounds like a great workout. Oh, now I'm not saying my hair looks good to just wash and wear -- it's that it's what I have time for -- my hair take 30-40 minutes to dry cause it's long and also coarse, so... Yeah, the colostrum should help.

Rhea, am so sorry about your neck. It does seem as if these courtrooms are stressful, I must admit. Hope you get that tiling done -- it does sound beautiful, if a bit of work.

Janie, I'm impressed. You did a ballet bar all by yourself, even going to get the equipment needed to do it. Wow! Wow, again. All three of you ladies astound me with how good you are in doing these projects.

Well, again it's late -- so I'm off to bed -- hope to get in 10 pages tomorrow. Have some really super workouts and a great day!:7

Morning,
Today was a timesaver premix from Butts & Guts for standing legs and stability ball abs. Good workout. I think B&G is my favorite from that series. Did a bike ride yesterday after work. It was windy, but I got to ride with a girlfriend and catch up a bit on things.

Rhea, so sorry about the neck bothering you. You've sure had your share, darn it. Hope you can give it a rest. That tiling is a workout.

Janie, way to go on building the bar! Love it when we can get something accomplished that we've never tried before. Enjoy that barre work today. I don't know anything about that method. Do you like it?

Karen, I always struggle with LIS and HIS as the moves come fast and I don't think Cathe is "on" with her cuing in these. I don't have them memorized so I have to listen to her, but with the late cuing, it doesn't work real well at first. After a while I get it, but I think it could be better. Hope you meet your page quota today.

Hope everyone has a good weekend,

Jeanette

Good morning!

I think I'm a bit tired. I could go back to sleep right here at my desk.

I went home and did Turbo Jam #1 yesterday, had my foot detox bath and then tiled the rest of the entry way last night. Don't know where all that energy came from, but only six hours of sleep and I'm a bit bushed. I'll wake up eventualy I know. Probably not going to workout much today, if any.

Neck is actually all better. Strange how our bodies are. I think it was just a little stress over the type of hearing I was doing on Thursday, not a fun one that is for sure.

Good for you on the bar Janie! I used to do Calenetics ages ago.

Hi Karen and Jeanette! (going to be a great weekend for golfing Jeanette, it is beautiful out there today!)

Well, I had better get this motion done so I can go home and work on the house again.

Good Evening!:)

Boy, the Easter weekend really slipped up on me. It came early this year and with all I've got going on, I didn't realize it was here already.

Golf this weekend in a beautiful are -- sounds wonderful -- have fun with it, Jeanette and Rhea.

It was CTX All Step today and tomorrow I plan CTX Kickbox -- just to wrap up the upper body work as well.

Jeanette, I hadn't noticed on the cuing -- so that's what's off on this workout -- usually Cathe is about a beat early -- that's what I'm used to. I do like the workouts, however -- I find them challenging weight wise -- but that footwork... Your bike ride sounds great -- to be able to catch up with friends is certainly a moment of pleasure, huh?

Rhea, am glad to hear that your neck is better. Yeah, when you said that it happened in court I was thinking that it must've been one heck of a court case... That foot detox sounds fascinating, as well.

Well, like I said, have fun on the golf course. I'll be here in my room writing. Only 4 pages today, but I was happy to get that as I was up very late last night and had to sleep in. Deep sigh.

Hi Janie!

Have a super weekend, everyone!:7

Good Evening!:)

Okay, so yesterday was CTX Kick Box and today was CTX legs -- that's a terrific workout, by the way. Hope everyone had a terrific Easter and a great weekend.

So it's Sunday and time to look at the week ahead workout wise. So here's the plan:

Mon: IMAX 3
Tues: Supersets -- I love this workout
Wed: Cardio & Stretch
Thurs:premix of SJP -- both cardio and weights
Fri: Cardio only from 4DS Bootcamp
Sat: HSTA
Sun: Off

That's the plan. Oh, and then 7-10 pages a day. I only got 2 pages done today cause I was doing so much kitchen work (I've changed my schedule so I have weekends off to write until the deadline is met) -- and yesterday, I got 6 pages written.

Have a super day everyone and enjoy your workouts!:7

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Saturday was different step combos from Amy Bento and Cathe. Fun. Sunday was a 28 mile bike ride, then 9 holes of golf. Today was the standing and floor work from Legs & Glutes. Followed with abs from KPC.

Karen, that Leaner Legs from CTX is a tough one! Hope you get lots of writing in today.

Rhea, funny about the neck. My Dad is going thru that with a leg. One day he can hardly walk, the next the pain is completely gone.

Hi Janie, have you been using your new barre?

Jeanette

Good morning!

Hectic and tiring weekend for me. Sat was a quick, well sort of, run to Reno with car to get it worked on once again. (Found out the dealer mechanics had pinched an oil line on the valve cover, or something like that, so they had to fix the stinky mess) But I did get to pick up supplies at Lowes and Costco. When I got home in the evening, I grouted the entry way tile.

Yesterday was a complete tile day. I, along with my designated tile cutter, DH, did the dry lay (layout and cuts)for the bathroom floor. Then I tried to clean the pond (decided that it was too much time for now. It will take an entire day to clean it right, so it will have to wait; patched the wall in the bathroom, taped one of the new seams in the wall, fixed holes, then set the tile for about 3/4 of the floor. I was pooped. I figure that the lifting of all those tiles is a pretty good upper body workout. If I haven't told you, and if I already did, sorry for repeating, the tiles are 18 x 18 travertine...a natural stone tile. They weight about ten pounds a piece. I can't tell you how many little scrapes I have on my fingers.

Well, I had better get going. Got to get that motion finished. Looks like everyone had a great weekend. Talk to you later!!

Jeanett, I envy you being able ride your bike this time of year. Calenetics and The Bar Method are great workouts for me. It keeps me stretched out and conditioned. Your workouts amaze me! I have been using the barre, but only this resting week. Today we start another month of weight lifting and cardio.

Rhea, Glad to see you are much better. Would love to see pics of what you are working on at home. Would also like to know more about the foot detox. Does it work? Are you feeling different?

KK, Your workout plan looks super. Yeah! You are doing great on your pages. I'm doing OK in my book as well. Need to pick it up a little more though.

The day before Easter I ate a chicken patty and I guess I didn't cook it all the way, because I got food poisoning. Easter, I was still very sick from regurgitating the night before. Told my DH to have Easter with the kids without me. Today still feel burning in my tummy, especially after I eat something, but will try to exercise today as I planed out the week.

Here's the plan, hope I can do it, from P90X.

Chest & Back, Abs
Plyometrics
Shoulders and Arms, Abs
Yoga
Legs & Back, Abs
Kenpo
Rest

Have great workouts, everyone.

Good Evening!:)

Today was 8 intervals on IMAX3 -- good workout. Got up late and have been running literally to get things done and my writing suffered because of it -- I host the blog tomorrow which takes up time both today and tomorrow. Deep sigh.

Jeanette, I envy you your bike rides, as well. And a 28 mile hike -- were you exhausted afterwards -- 28 miles. Wow! Great going, Jeanette.

Rhea, just reading your post made me tired.;-) What a weekend for you, huh? I agree with you. I think you got all your exercise in with work. Glad that the trouble with your transportation got fixed. Sometimes it seems it's almost worse having something broken in your car than in your own body.

Janie, I am so inflexible -- putting my legs on a bar or stretching out on a bar is so unreal to me. I'd be in terrible pain, I think. Doing all the stretches with Cathe has loosened me up, but I admire yor flexibility. By the way, what's Kenpo?

Well, it's another day tomorrow and I hope I get more done on writing tomorrow than I did today. Have a super day, everyone and some fun and exhilarating workouts.:7

KK, Kenpo is part of the P90X Series which consist of various Kick boxing manuvers. Such as;

twist and pivot
jabs
jab cross
jab cross hook
jab cross hook uppercut
hook uppercut switch
ball kicks
side kicks
back kicks
3 direction kick
etc...

You get the idea. A whole hours worth.

The Barre is just to make you more flexible, and it's simple. You just start slow and work yourself up.

Hope you get a lot done like you want. You work so hard!

Dang, lost my post again.

Today was Muscle Max upper premix only. Good burn there. Did get a bike ride in yesterday afternoon. Windy but good ride anyway. Had a tailwind coming past your house, Rhea. Nice. Have a tax appointment after work today. Need to just get it over with.

Rhea, bet the tiling is beautiful. I enjoyed it when we did our hearth last year. Haven't convinced DH to start the bathroom yet.

Janie, so sorry about the stomach problem. Hope you are over it now. Take it easy.

Karen, hope you get more writing in today. You of all people know how that deadline is looming. You will make it.

Great workouts everyone.

Jeanette

Good Evening!:)

It was a day off for me today. Many things happened last night -- my brother-in-law had a physical problem and my daughter called and it just didn't happen today, I'm afraid.

But tomorrow is supposed to be Supersets, one of my favorite workouts and so I'm looking forward to that.

Janie, oh, that's right -- I remember Jeanette doing the P90X's and all -- wow, great that you are doing all that. I don't know of I could even get my leg up high enough for a barre. I'd have to take it real slow.

Jeanette, Muscle Max is amongst my favorites -- it really will give you a burn. The bike rides sound a little like heaven -- which is great to counter-balance that tax appointment. Never fun...

Hi Rhea! Hope you're doing great!

Didn't get much writing in today, as I had my attention on my brother-in-law and my daughter. But they are both doing fine -- yea! and tomorrow is another day.:)

Have a super day, everyone!:7
