KK's January 2010 Thread

Good afternoon!

Yesterday I ended up working out before the superbowl. Did Tracy Long's Step Forward..or something like that! Wow, what a leg workout. I was dripping at the end and my legs were fried.

This morning I was up really early and started Disc #25? First disc in Meso #4, got about 1/2 done, then at 5:15 was picked up by my buddies and went for a run, then came back and finished the weights! The running/jogging felt great. I don't get too far before I have to walk a bit, but my goal is to go the whole distance with a run. (It is about a two mile round trip.)

Well, back to work. One of these days, I'll remember to try and post a picture of the baby quilt I did. I just haven't had the time to learn the resizing of the picture thing. I know there has to be an easy way to do it, I just haven't figured it out yet. LOL.

KK, Been busy too lately. Not anything in particular, just busy. Cleaning house, Yes, working a little on my book, exercises, making up rotations and watching some great movies.

I just love working out with Joey. But, it's every other day when we lift weights. His cardio is different from mine. He doesn't like step or structured cardio.

Enjoy The Firm, I always do. It's a great workout.

Rhea, After a Tracy Long workout, sweat does happen:). She's a good instructor. Wish I could run, but my flat feet won't allow it. Sounds like you had a great time. You'll be running the two miles in know time.

Would love to see that baby quilt.

Just a quick post then I need to get to bed. I've stayed up to late tonight.

Did BBL Cardio Axe and Insanity Cardio Abs today. Whew. Love the dancing, was so much fun. Insanity was work. Had a great workout today.

Good afternoon!

This morning I got up and did Disc #26? (plyo legs) Yuck. Not the most fun disc to do first thing in the morning. I'm not real fond of all those jumps. I even chickened out of jumping up on the step with four risers, just seemed to high to me, so I jumped in place. My ankles get tired sometimes on those jumps. I guess i need to build up the endurance.

Tomorrow is just a short run. I think that will be enough after today's leg workout.

Today was Cardio Fusion all step premix, then added abs from STS Circuits (med ball w/out partner). Yesterday was STS Legs as I had slightly pulled a muscle in my bicep so didn't want to do upper body. Monday was a rest day...

Karen, hope your hair turned out okay. I get in such a rut and have had my hair the same way for years. Tried to do something different last year and just felt "old" while it was growing out. Gave in and went back to my usual way. Hope you aren't too swamped. Seems like you do enjoy being busy.

Janie, isn't STS great? I've gotten more results out of this series than any of them before. Looking forward to Meso #2 as that's where I saw the most difference. I'll post a picture of my finished quilt soon. I just need to go snap that picture...

Rhea, wish I could run too, but all I feel is my knees hurting, my hip hurting, thud, thud, thud. No runners high for me. Sigh. I haven't ridden my bike for a couple months. That's a long time for me. I'll be getting back into it soon. Will be going to D'Andrea in Reno to play golf with a girlfriend on Sat and Sunday. Looking forward to it.

Gosh, I can hardly believe I have so meant to be so much better about posting -- I get so busy...

Anyway, today was a rest day cause I had a hair appointment and so my time usually spent working out was spent at the hair dressers. Here's hoping the haircut is a good one. I'm so picky.:confused:

Monday, by the way was FIRM #4 and yesterday was Hiit 40/20 -- the one I think is the hardest. Last night I did 20 minutes of the MMA Boxing -- that's a really good workout. I must admit the Boxing part of it put me off, but goodness, that's a good workout.

Jeanette, I'm kinda in a rut on hair, too. While it's still long, I got it layered and I'll be derned if it isn't hard to grow it out again. I had a really bad cut when I was in Florida and have been growing it out since, and I must admit it's really difficult. But I seldom go out much nowadays and so it's not as big a deal as it would be if I were touring or something. Or by the way, I will be touring again in April

Oh, Jeanette, yesterday I blogged at www.petticoatsandpistols.com -- about sewing -- you and Rhea inspired that post. Just wanted you to know. :)

You know Rhea, I sure don't use 4 risers. Goodness! I figure they're a lot younger than I am -- and I have to do it so that I get a good workout without straining myself. And the way I do the workout, I still find that one really, really challenging.:eek:

Janie, I think it's just great that you and husband work out together at all. My husband gets lots of "weight workouts" just doing his job -- what he likes is the cardio -- and since he doesn't do it on his own, I've gotten into asking him to do it with me. Of course we both get a bit of a workout walking/running the dogs.;)

Would love to see that quilt, Rhea, but I sure understand about the computer and not knowing how to do it easily and quickly with little time lost.

Anyway, have a super day tomorrow. I'll try to be better about posting. I really do love to read your posts.:D
 
Did STS Disc 2 back & Triceps.

Rhea, Don't blame you about the legs. I modify too. Have to my body doesn't work like that...yet. Have a good time with your run tomorrow.

Jeanette, Oh no, I've never pulled a muscle in the bicep before. Use ice to help with the inflammation. All in all you did great workouts. Wise to let that bicep heal a bit. STS is my best results too. Just love the STS Series. Looking forward to your quilt pictures.

KK, You are so good at staying on track with your workouts. You just keep going and going. You can call your haircut day a rest day.:) How did your hair turn out?

Got up this am and ran. Did much better than before, ran almost an entire mile before I had to walk. So, I guess I'm gaining some improvement.

I have tomorrow and Monday off from work, plus I took Wed-Friday of next week off. YIPPPEEEEEE. DH will be at work W-F, so I'll have the house to myself. Whoo hooo. Probably will come up with lists or some project for me to do, I always do, darn it.

Today was Total Body Sculpting -- it was good. I don't know where the time goes. I have so much to do -- and when I look up, the time has just ticked away.:confused:

Janie, your workouts look great. The hair turned out okay -- something I can live with. The last time I got it done, my hair was something that was hard to live with -- which always makes it tough.

Rhea, that's great about the running. I have to get more running back into my workouts, too. I used to do it more than I do now. In my last post, I mentioned that you and Jeanette inspired that post -- it was about sewing and "what to wear."

Hi Jeanette! Hope all is going well with you. Gotta organize my day tomorrow so I get more done.

Did a lot of errands yesterday. Baby sat with Adriane for a few hours. Did more errands after that and finely got home late. Was beat, and didn't post. Time fly's so fast sometimes that before you know it, it's time for bed. Jeesh!

Yesterday early morning, did Insanity Core Cardio & Balance also Cardio Recovery.

Today did BBL Bum Bum and SC Double Wave Pyramid. Oh My Gosh! Modified and got through it.:confused: Whew! Have a rest day coming tomorrow and Monday.

KK, I am no where near as busy as you, but find that time is going by way too fast! Good job on your workout.

Hi all,
Can't remember what I did Friday. Oh wait, it was the Double Wave HIIT from STS Shock Cardio. Good one, then tacked on some abwork from MMA Kickbox. Yesterday morning, DH and I left for Reno, where we visited with DS and DSIL and DGS, then I got to golf a nice course 2 days in a row. I shot a 92 on Saturday, on a tough course, so I was thrilled. Today wasn't so good, but still was happy with it, plus it was a nice day. Went out for a Valentine's Dinner at Outback Steakhouse on Saturday night. Had a nice time.

Have tomorrow off too, President's Day. Will tackle STS Back & Biceps, what I didn't get done this week, as I didn't work out at all on Saturday and today. Hoping to get on my bike later on tomorrow too as it's supposed to be nice.

Everyone is staying with the workouts!!! Great job! I'll get back to eating better starting tomorrow. Had to indulge in Reno at Outback. Can't see just having a salad and such...:D
 
Good Evening!

Busy weekend. Had a writer's meeting on Saturday, and a call from my agent (whom I love), and then when I got home, it was weird, cause like you said, Janie, the time seemed to just slip away. Whew!

Today my DH and I did the Pyramid workout from Hiit. I love those workouts. Really, really love them. The hardest for me to do is 40-20 -- but the Pyramid is my favorite.

Lots of writing to do -- lots of promotion -- am scheduling that tour in April, also. But I'll be touring from home. Can't really get myself to go too far away.:)

Am planning -- gosh what am I planning to do tomorrow? Well, I'm not sure -- we'll see. Am hoping to get this new synopsis done within the next couple of days.

Janie, wonderful on your workouts! Gosh, I so know what you mean about time.

Jeanette, have fun on your new day -- that's right -- I forgot about it being a holiday. I have to do better on my eating, too. I'm still 5 lbs overweight.

Rhea, hope all is going well with you!

Good afternoon everyone!

Talk about time flying! I just don't seem to have the time to get on the computer when I'm at home. And I'm not sure if I'm actually getting anything accomplished. So many little things to do.

Today is gorgeous out, almost want to go and golf, but again, too many things to do here. Part of my mission this spring is to get this house in possible selling shape. If the market picks up, we may want to sell this house when the other one is finished. But lots of little things to finish or clean up (yardwise for the cleanup)

Workouts? Hmm, I was exhausted Friday, so didn't workout. In Reno on Saturday....so yesterday I had to make up the end of the week STS. Today I think I will do the Tracie Long's Step Forward, or whatever it is called. I have to put together the new DVD player though since ours decided to die last night. It just quit. Then I realized that I couldn't workout until I got a new one, so that was one of the first things that got done today.

Well, got to go set up the new DVD, have a great day!

Today was STS Disk 15 - Back and Biceps. Seems like forever since I've worked those parts as I slightly pulled my bicep last week, and the week before was a rest week. It was just fine today and I felt good and strong for it. I love it when I don't have to rush thru my workout. No work today due to President's Day.

Rhea, I agree, it was beautiful today. I even did a bike ride, though a short one. I'm way out of bike riding shape, but it'll come back, I hope. I just don't have the drive or time to do longer rides anymore.

Karen, you are always so productive. Shoot, I just kind of play and work a lot. Don't have a whole lot to show, but guess that's my life for now. I am working on another wallhanging, which makes me happy.

Hi Janie, how is STS going? Hope you are doing well.

Today was 1/2 of Cardio & Weights -- tomorrow, I think I'll do another Hiit -- or one of the other workouts -- and then finish up Cardio & Weights after that. Wish I could do a full hour workout, but it's just not to be.

Did any of you read the success story today of the woman who had cancer, went on nutrition and exercise and beat it? That was inspiring.

Rhea, wow! What would I do without my DVD player? I guess go back to VCR's for a while until I got another one. Funny how we get attached to these things, isn't it? Boy, I am so with you on this time thing. It seems to me like I'm getting alot done, and then by the end of the day, I still have so much to do... I guess I just have to do what I can and not beat myself up. I'm trying hard. :eek:

Jeanette, thanks for your compliments, but I have to be productive right now. I don't have a contract -- and that's my bread and butter. So I don't have a choice. Gotta get out there -- write like the wind (if I can) -- I actually don't write that fast -- and promote like mad, too. You'd be, too. I know you would be. So would Rhea and Janie, too, I'm sure.:)

Good afternoon!

Got up this am and joined the group run. It was a good one, went a little farther.

Will be doing the next disk....28?, I keep losing track of the number. It will be the chest and back for week #2, meso 3. So today is a nice long workout day. I think I'll get back on track for M,W. F and do plyo legs tomorrow with a run on Thurs and then the last disk on Friday. I have all those days off from work, so it will be quite a busy week. If the weather stays like it is, it will be lots of yard work I'm afraid. I wanted to get some of my quilting in...but the sunshine calls.

Today was premix (34 min) of Cardio Core -- that's a good workout.

Have done a really stupid and time consuming thing. Accidentally, I saved a file in the wrong name (the file with my chapters written) and lost those chapters -- a month's worth of work that I now have to redo.:( I'm beside myself. I've never done this before in all my time writing. I now have to recreate 35 pages.

As if I weren't busy enough. But no one did it to me. It's my mistake. I'm beside myself, though.

Yesterday's workout was Step Moves, with abs from MMA Boxing. Today was STS Disc 16 - Chest, Shoulders and Triceps. I walked on my break at work today, also played 9 holes of golf after work. Nice day...

Karen, I soooo feel for you losing the info. I can't even tell you how to retrieve it. A real bummer for sure.

Had to get ready for my Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy. Mon. I couldn't eat not one thing, only drank their stuff to spill out poop. Tues. had the procedures and came home nauseated. Weds./today felt nauseated most of the day. Couldn't eat yesterday and not very much today, except an apple. Trying to drink water, but not too much. I feel better tonight, and will drink chicken broth and have crackers for dinner. Hopefully tomorrow will be better than the last two days. LOL

The good thing is no ulcer, had two pa-laps burned off from inside colon. That's good. Guess I have GERD after all. But now I know for sure. And I do have Diverticulosis. Small pockets in the colon. But this is not a bad thing. Need to eat more fiber.

Hope now all this is behind me.
