KK's February Check-In

Jeannette,
Loved LIS. It was a lot of fun.Today I did chest and biceps. Tomorrow another LIS. Can't wait!

KK,
Was the radio show OK this time? Any problems? You are doing just fine on your writing. You'll meet the deadline, you always do. Don't you?

Rhea,
I have Cardio Collectibles. Must get it out sometime soon. Glad your shoulder is better.

Have a good evening everyone.

Janie

Good morning,
Today was Shiva Rea's Yoga Shakti - Basic Flow. Had breakfast at IHOP down the street. I'll be back home tonite. Will spend this weekend watching Grandma as Mom and Dad are out of town attending someone's 58th anniversary party down south.

Janie, glad you enjoyed LIS yesterday. Think I will do that rotation soon. I never did when it came out, just the cardio in it. I'm trying to steer away from too much cardio and want to focus on heavy weights again. Liking the leg blast rotation I'm doing. I have strong legs from cycling, but you wouldn't know to look at them.

Karen, what is the thing you've found for metabolism? Please tell! Glad you kicked that pound to the curb. Good job on the writing. Good job on the disappearing cyst. That's the walnut hull doing that, right?

Got to go, will check in tomorrow!

Jeanette

Good morning!

Fast checkin this morning. Very busy at work, covering bosse's calendar....err....I'll tell you later.

Drum roll please.....Rhea actually got out of bed this am and did a 1/2 hour workout!! Whoo hooo.....I'm not a very good morning person. But I'm going to try and at least get a 1/2 workout in the ams just in case I run out of time during the day, like yesterday. This morning I did Tony Horton's Power 1/2 hour Thighs. I was real awake to get super into it, but it at least got my hr up a bit! If I have any type of time before the scheduled foot bath this evening, then I'll tackle the turbo jam 20 minute workout. This might shake up my metobolism too. I actually weighed myself for the first time in a long time this morning. Oh my. Not good. Must behave in the food/wine category.

Well, got to run to court. I'll "post" at you later!. LOL.

Have a great day!

Good Evening!:)

Let's see -- it was CTX 10-10-10 for me today. Gee, how I love these workouts. I can't thank you enough, Jeanette, for really putting my nose in that direction. Nothing tonight -- woke up tired today and have had a hard time kicking it so am hoping to go to bed soon. But that extra workout seems to do the trick with my weight.

Janie, I like LIS, too, it's just that third interval -- goodness! My feet don't go in those directions all at once. This radio interviewer was kind and it was a fun interview to do. How you doing?

Jeanette, okay, so here's the link for what might just kick your metabolism into gear: www.juicefeasting.com -- I've been listening to a set of 6 CD's on this -- and the results speak for themselves -- and then a few days ago, I had a drink of this green juice and my whole energy level picked up -- it's been sluggish lately due to the amount of detox I'm going through. So soon, I'm going to be juicing green things. I notice it has really helped with elimination right off -- if you catch my drift. This is a good thing considering that I'm in a detox right now. Have fun with your grandma -- do you ever ask her to tell you about her childhood? I think it might be fascinating.

Rhea, I loved the drum roll. And wow! Got up that early. You know, I don't know why these two workouts a day thing works, but it is for me, and it's not too hard to do. I actually look forward to it at night. You made me smile. Hope your boss gets back soon.:7

Have a super day tomorrow. On Saturday I'm going to a meeting to learn how to do this juicing thing -- Saturday morning before my all day class. I'll worry about Georgie cause I won't be around for the entire day. I hope he'll forgive me.

Have some great workouts!:7

Good morning,
I got back to town last night around 9. Was snowing coming back, but made it safe. Good to be back home. Today was the upper body only premix from Supersets. Fun. Ate terribly while I was out of town, got to do better today.

Karen, interesting about the juice feasting. I'll send the link to my work so I can read about it there. I just briefly looked at it last night. Glad you are feeling better. I'm sure Georgie will forgive you for being gone, but know he will be so happy to see you when you get back. How much longer will you need to stay in Florida? Seems like it's been forever.

Rhea, good for you for getting up early to work out. Know it's difficult for some. I'm a morning person so no problem there. I poop out at night and like to just veg. You don't even want to know what I had to eat while out of town. So bad.

Hi to Janie,

Jeanette

Goooooood morning!

Yep, those cats sure adjusted fast, they were jumping at my feet and 4:55 a.m. How do they know? Made it up out of bed and did another 1/2 hour workout. Did the Power Hour Chest, triceps, biceps and shoulders. DH got up early and wanted to do yoga, so I did that too. I'm really glad since I'm so sore from yesterday. I ended up getting out of work early enough to do Turbo Jam #1 last night. Between that and all the thigh work in the morning, I think my poor lil behind got a few muscles worked.

Jeanette, glad to hear that you are back at home safe and sound. We have to go to Reno tomorrow for the brakes on the car. I'm really hoping that the next storm takes its time getting here and waits until we are back Sat afternoon.

Karen- I'm sure Georgie will be a good boy and wait patiently for you. He is nothing like my little devils that engage in revenge behavior. I can't wait until the snow is gone and the weather is better so they can go outside and play. They are getting so bored.

Hi Janie! HOw are you doing?

Well, I had better stop procrastinating and get to work.

Have great workouts!

p.s. have you checked out the men that are going to be in the STS program, nice muscles!!!

Good Evening!:)

Hope you all had a terrific weekend. Mine is spent mostly on course -- but you're right -- Georgie forgave me.:) Sure love that little cat.

Rhea, so well done on getting up and doing the workouts and adding on when you can. Don't know what it is about that extra workout -- maybe it's just doing it before I got to bed so the metab is going throughout the night -- but at least it keeps the weight in a range i can handle. Your cats sound so cute and it makes me miss mine at home.

Jeanette, how was your weekend with your grandmother? Am glad you made it home safe.

Hi Janie! How you doing? What are you doing nowadays?

This week's workouts I need to plan, so here's the plan:

Mon: IMAX2

Tues: Supersets

Wed: Steady-State Cardio

Thurs. SJP Premix -- due to time constraints

Fri: Boot Camp cardio from 4DS

Sat: Boot Camp from Intensive Series

Sun: Off

And then in the eveing any short cardio -- just to get the heart rate up.

Jeanette, I'm doing the Juice Feasting -- except not in full -- instead of doing the 92 day juicing only -- am only doing 1 quart of juice feasting a day -- the reason is because I have so much going on in my life right now, that adding another new thing onto it just seems a bit much. But one thing is certain -- it really is giving me energy. Amazing.

Have a super day, everyone and some terrific workouts!

Good morning,
Had a good weekend taking care of Grandma. Yesterday was a more alert day for her. She loves to read and reads Nora Roberts books. She ate well also, for Grandma. DH came over Saturday afternoon with the dogs and kept me company overnight. He shoveled the snow from the walkway, made a fire in the kitchen woodstove. Also made a nice dinner for last night and brought it over.

Today was Pyramid Upper Body (up premix) and abs. Boy, I need to work my core more as this one was tough. I think because your arms are so fatigued it's hard to hold yourself up for pikes and planks on the ball. My upper body is nice and toasty right now.

Karen, glad the juicing is going well for you. That's wonderful about the extra energy it is providing. I'm really close to ordering STS. Need to do it before the presale ends, which is March 8th or 10th, can't remember.

Rhea, hope all went well in Reno. Mom and Dad are driving home today so hopefully will miss any snow. Glad they didn't come yesterday.

Hi Janie, hope you are doing well too and staying busy no doubt.

Gotta run,

Jeanette

Good Evening!:)

Grandma sounds like a good soul -- am so glad that you got to spend time with her -- and that hubby came over and kept you company. Actually sounds like a really good time.

Here I sit once again with Georgie on my arm. In about another month I'll be able to safely take him in. In the meantime...

Am so busy right now that I haven't had time to go and check out those guys with the muscles. Goodness me.

It was IMAX2 for me today and tonight was IMAX3 with no blasts -- about 31 minutes. Yes, that juice feasting is quite good. Really puts that energy into you.

Doing the full pyramids -- especially when you haven't done them for a while really does shock the muscles, I think.

Tomorrow is Supersets without the ball --still a terrific workout.

Rhea, hope you are doing well, and you, too, Janie. Was good talking to you on email today, Janie.:7

Have a super day!:7

Good Evening, or is it morning,

Been watching the Alias Series. That is a really great show!

I've been working with D4S and getting stronger every workout. I can feel that lifting is more doable than a hardship. I'm very impressed with these workouts.

You all seem good. Working hard and full of great workouts. Take care and will be back soon.

Janie

Morning,
Today was GS Legs, actually did the whole thing for a change. What a burner on those slow lunges.

I finally pre-ordered STS. Excited about a new program.

Janie, I think soon I will do 4DS as I never really pursued it much when I got it. Mostly did just the cardio.

Karen, enjoy Supersets today. Love that one. I have a stability ball that has "bumps" on it so I have to be careful on the preacher curls, that I don't dig my elbow into a bump. Oh that Georgie! What a lover he's trying to be!

Hi Rhea, hope you aren't too busy at work today.

Jeanette

Good Evening!:)

Supersets was great today. How I love the music in that series and in the Intensity series, as well. I love the new 4DS -- love the weight work in it and the cardio, as well, but I wish the music were better. But they are truly wonderful workouts and I notice good results with them, too. The CTX series is what I tend to do at night -- they usually work out to be about 30 minutes or so.

So glad you were able to get the STS workouts. I don't know. It's an awful lot of money to spend at a time when I'm low in finance due to me being here. Now, there's no cardio in them, right? They are all of them strength/weight workouts?

Finally went over to the blog to have a look at what's going on there. Cathe is so creative on these workouts. Goodness!

Anyway, well done on getting them, Jeanette. And Janie, I know you'll get better and better results with the 4DS -- I really like them, too.

Hi Rhea! You must really be busy.

Have a super day, everyone!:7

Morning,
Today was a yoga stretch from Karen Voight's Yoga Focus. Goodness, haven't done that one in ages and ages. Felt good as my legs are tight and a bit sore from GS Legs yesterday. Have a bike spin session tonite.

Karen, glad you enjoyed Supersets today. That one is fun, isn't it? However the bicep concentration curls get me every time. How is the detox going? Yes, STS is all weight work, 3X a week. You put in your own cardio during the week. It is based on the periodization system of weight training. What do you think of the new cast members in STS? I think it will be a nice change. Change is good, huh?

Hi to Karen and Rhea,

Jeanette

Good afternoon!

Finally have a chance to post and not just read. Mon-Wed can be very busy for me. I even have to squeeze in Physical therapy today. I've got to work on that shoulder more, the weather is warming up and I fell golf in the air! Right now I wouldn't be allowed to swing that golf club though.

Workouts have been good. Yesterday I did Low Impact Circuit. I haven't done that one for a while and had a lot of fun doing it. Since it was in the evening, I almost ran out of steam, but made it through. Tomorrow I'll probably have to get up in the morning and do some sort of weight workout. I might try and do a cardio workout when I get home after PT this afternoon.

Well, I had better get back to work since I'm leaving in 30 minutes. Have a great day everyone!

Hi all,
Today was Christi Taylor's Solid Gold Step for 4 combos, then followed with the abs from Cathe's KPC (stability ball abs). Last night was a bike spin session.

Rhea, I did LIC recently, the whole thing and it's a good one. Really made me sweat. Hope the shoulder is making progress. Would be fun to golf together this year.

Karen, hope you are okay, and probably busy today.

Hi Janie!

Jeanette

Good morning!

Jeanette - shoulder has stalled a bit, but probably because I've pushed a little too much on the exercises and not enough on the PT exercises. So my goal this week is to do PT three times a day like I'm supposed to. So as soon as I'm done with this post, I'm going to do the first for the day. Now that the weather is getting warmer, the golf bug is starting to itch and I do not have the ability to swing a club yet.

This morning, got up and did part of the pyramid up pre-mix. Did lower body standing upper only. I didn't have time for any more. But it was enough for first thing in the morning. Takes me a while to wake up and I was dragged out of bed by Ms. Daisy Mae this morning. She decided that I needed to get up and kept jumping on me and meowing in my ear. I swear she was about to wap me with her paw if I didn't comply. Knowing her, she would.

Karen - how's Mr. Georgie? I'm so glad that he was "sent" to you to keep you company in FL. ARe you still doing the twice a day workouts? I'm trying to do a little weight work in the mornings I know that I'll be short on time, longer workouts when I know I'll have the time. I'll have to see how that goes.

Hi Janie - hope everything is going okay at your end!

Talk to y'all later.

Good Afternoon!:)

Don't believe I forgot to post last night. I remembered as I was drifting off to sleep, but was too sleepy to get up. Goodness! Let's see -- yesterday was BM 2 first cardio part only and then last night was CTX Kickbox. And today was a premix of both Step Blast and SJP. Funny, though I had to add onto the SJP as it didn't play all of the weight work.

So glad to hear from you, Rhea. Figured you were really busy. Daisy Mae sounds wonderful. Georgie is a blessing. He plays almost all night -- and seems to really love my arm. I think that he thinks this is the proper thing for him to do because this didn't start up until after Paul left.;) He is just a sweetheart and I am so glad that I have him.

The pyramids are great, aren't they?

Jeanette, yeah, those biceps on the Supersets are really tough. I haven't had time to check out the STS -- so tell me -- who are the people in it this time -- is Jae still there? She's one of my favorites, I must admit. So you do these 3 times a week and then you do your own cardio on other days? That's how it works. I haven't been real interested because it looks to me so much like they are beyond my ability. And the cost...

Hi Janie! Hope all is going well with you!

Well, tomorrow is leap year. If you know anyone who isn't married and wants to be -- it's on leap year -- on the 29th, that a man cannot refuse the woman who asks him. :7 Don't you love it?

Have a super day tomorrow!:7

Hi all,

Today was Joe's (my husband) court date. The court lifted the "no contact" order. Since this was an abuse case, he can't come home until all the weapons (guns) are out of the house and no longer under his control. His son will be coming to collect them in a day or two. The court asked me if there was any statement that I would like the court to consider in making their sentencing decision. I made up a couple of paragraphs and read this to the court:

"It will do no good to sentence Joseph to jail. We as married partners need to work through these circumstances. I'm requesting that Joseph attend an alcoholic program and an anger management program. For myself, a program that can guide me through this trauma.

In our sixteen years of marriage he never physically abused me. I'm asking to allow him to come home so we can learn from the appropriate programs and heal together. Since I wasn't able to contact him or anyone surrounding him, I don't know how he feels about coming back home. I do know that whatever he decides to do concerning him and myself, I will respect that decision.

I believe our love for one another would warrant him to choose to come home and put this experience behind us so we can move on with our lives."

You know, he told the court that he believes that he is not an alcoholic and that if and when we drinks it will be sociable. He is giving me the key to give him permission to drink.

That really made me cringe. He is taking the responsibility off his shoulders and giving it up to me and therefore making me out to be the bad guy.

We still aren't able to sit down and talk yet. But I have to tell you, that there is a list of non-negotiable, negotiable and also a list of the things that will make me happy. On the non-negotiable list is that he goes into an alcoholic and anger management program. If there is any drinking at all for the rest of his life, me present or not, I will leave immediately and will never ever return to his life. I know it might sound horrid, but for my safety it truly has to be that way. Joe gave me no alternative.

There's a lot of fines that happened today. We won't be able to go for our Fall trip this year because of him. Also it is a learning process in progress. There will be more things that I will add or delete from my list for a long time to come.

I'm now going to go to a group gathering on Tuesdays for information about my trauma and on Thursdays meeting for other people like myself who have gone through what I have endured. Each meeting will take 6 weeks to complete. I'm putting in place a plan of escape for if and when I need it. So now for healing and learning.

Thanks for your ears, everyone, I truly needed to vent and you all were there. Thank you beyond words.

Janie

HI Janie!:)

Thank you for posting in detail all that you have thought about and put to paper. I think that you are acting very responsibly and I think your requests are reasonable. I also think you are very courageous.

He may not agree to the anger management program, and I'm not sure if I would blame him, darlin', since these programs often send one straight into the new psychotropic drugs -- fighting one drug by addicting one to another. And the new psychotopic drugs are linked to every single -- without exception -- shooting case in the country. It is also a scientific fact that they are cocaine related, but worse, that they perform a chemical lobotomy by destroying brain cells.

And nowadays, these programs are really pushing these new drugs. So... I don't know if you've ever checked into it or not but AAA gets people off alcohol without the added side effect of addicting the client to another (and sometimes worse) drug. (I think of alcohol as a drug).

Also, in my experience it seems that those people who are forced to do something and don't do it on their own self-determinism, seldom benefit from it. That's the only thing I might add.

Anyway, darlin', if you want -- do you still have my phone number? If you want to talk, don't hesitate to call -- make it during the day, as I'm almost always on course in the evenings and my phone is off.

I applaud your courage, Janie. This is not easy. 16 years is a long time and lots of love.

I'm sending you lots of love, too.
