KK's February Check-In

Good Afternoon!:)

It was solid work for me yesterday. After writing in the AM, I worked on promo and stuff from 1 PM to 1AM non-stop except for a break for dinner. By 1 AM I was ready for bed. Today it's been much the same -- straight promo for the new book all day today -- but hopefully, I've got it done enough so that I can concentrate on writing. Am not making those 7 pages a day and that could spell trouble for me later.

Janie, I'm really concerned about what I've read here. Because I have to immediately get down to writing could you either send me a private email on it of post something here. It doesn't sound too great. Also, if you want to vent privately, let's email each other and I'll give you my phone number. Grief should never be held in. Just never. I would be here to listen.

Jeanette, well, gotta tell you -- all bodies are different, but this workout at night makes my weight go down -- it's all cardio at night -- not sure why -- it must get that metab up and that works the night through. Cause I eat alot of raw fat -- maybe that's why that workout at night works.

Yesterday it was IMAX2 which I love and today it was ME -- I had scheduled something else, but ME was what I did -- I so love that workout.

I did Gin Miller Interval cardio today. She's tougher than I remembered. Tomorrow will be some kind of circut training, haven't decided yet.

OK, I'm over the pity party and ready to take the bull by the horns. Exercise is in dead a must.

Forgot to check in yesterday. It was a holiday here. I did the upper body weight work from Cardio & Weights, plus the abs. Did a Cardio Coach workout in the afternoon on my bike. This morning was Bryan Kest's Intensive Body Sculpting Yoga.

Janie, glad to see your determination. You are strong and will come out ahead in this. I have a Gin Miller step workout that is good. I like her.

Karen, you have been busy, busy writing to meet the deadlines I'm sure. Hey, cardio in the evening, whatever works. I'm going to try less cardio and upping my calories to see if I can get the metabolism to start moving again. I read somewhere the too little of calories makes the body retain fluid. Got to try something and I'm not interested in working out harder at this point. I'm noticing some good changes with my legs in this leg rotation.

Good morning!

Haven't been able to check in since I've been running about trying to fix my car. If it was not one thing, then it was another. Suffice it to say that it is now at the doctor's in Reno (lol) but this surgery will cost me!

Janie - glad to see that you are holding up well. I don't know what state you are in, but I could give you some info on what happens in Calif. during this type of process. I don't know if you knew, but I am a public defender, so this is part of my expertise. My work e-mail is [email protected] if you have any questions.

Been half way decent with the workouts except for the runs to Reno and to the physical therapist. Did Cardio Collectibles on Sat, the whole thing. Then on Sunday I did Supersets. I'm going to get down to the eating and the workouts even better. I have no excuses and just need to do it. I don't like the way my clothes feel.

Well, must get back to work. Since I have to go back to Reno soon, I've got to get all my work done in a shorter period of time. Darn it.

Tough day today. That radio show (I sent out a notice) turned out to be tough, tough, tough. At the last minute, they changed the program and invited someone else to "counter" me. A professor of literature. As soon as I learned that, I held my head in my hands -- could see where this was going. In brief, I was the dressed up like a Thanksgiving turkey having to defend what I do against...well, it was not what I'd thought it would be. In truth, I felt used. Maybe I wouldn't have minded it so much, but it's not easy to have to defend yourself for an entire hour on the air -- and then they didn't even mention that I have a book coming out in March or anything -- no website -- no go out and get the book, no nothing. It was as though I was there so they could have someone to pick on for Valentine's Day.

I'm pretty well informed and so I held my own, but oh, how I hate having to do that. And then to have nothing really to show for it except the knowledge that I defended myself okay...

Was bummed for the rest of the day. What a waste. Didn't exercise until tonight and then it was IMAX3 premix -- intervals 6-10, minus interval #7, my all time don't like it interval. Even then I had to really pep talk myself into doing it.

I've been on that show before and it wasn't like that -- I probably won't do it again -- it was my third time on their show. What a waste.

Anyway, Janie, I have an ear if you would ever like to talk -- it's an open invitation. Well done for getting down to things.

Jeanette, that's great that you're seeing some gain in your legs. Go, Jeanette! Go to it with that weight. Sometimes all it takes is the intention to take it off.

Rhea, how sweet of you to offer Janie some help. Wow. That's just...well, that's just wonderful of you. Hope the surgery on the car doesn't cost you an arm and a leg -- and great on your workouts.

I'm so sorry about the radio show. What's the matter with those people anyway? How terrible for you, it's appalling. Why do people have to be that way? don't blame you for not wanting to do that again. Why did you have to defend yourself? Proud of you though for holding your own. IMAX3...good for you.

Thank you for the ear invitation. I made need to, sometime down the road. Didn't have a really good day today. Angry today....yesterday, hopeful...jeesh. Got to get a hold on it. Tomorrow lets look towards grateful.

Today was Push Pull. Love this one. It sure uses a lot of equipment, but that's okay. Fun and I love the music in the Body Blast series. Did Cardio Coach #5 last night with the Garage Boys. Think it was harder for them than they thought it would be. That's all the cardio I'll do until Sunday. Trying to do less cardio and see how that works. More wasn't getting it. Have a haircut and color after work, then on to Reno to spend the night with DS and Cass. Cass and I will both have massages and facials on Friday. No workout that day, just a nice rest day. Looking forward to it.

Janie, so sorry about your day yesterday. Hoping you and DH are getting some counseling. (((hugs))) to you, know it can't be easy.

Rhea, we've had the car repair syndrome too. Spending way too much on that kind of stuff. Hope the shoulder is healing.

Karen, I feel bad for what you went thru on the radio interview. What were you having to defend? Bet you did just fine anyway. Hope you have a better day today.

My goodness Karen - what a fiasco. It is not nice for them to sandbag you like that....I'm glad you kept your own and stood up to them though.

Well, yesterday I ran home at lunch and did Turbo Jam Mix #1. I was really tired yesterday afternoon, but I think it was an food allergy reaction to the Atkins bar that I had (it has soy in it) Dang it, no more easy stuff. I'm going to have to learn make my own I guess.

Okay, I had better get to work. Hopefully I can get my car today. Have a great day everyone!

Another long day for me. I guess that's typical when I have a book coming out -- and probably more so now since I'm not touring with this book. I had to defend writing romance -- they had a professor of literature and the host himself was pretty well on the attack. Like I said, I'm pretty informed and could stand up for myself, but afterwards, I asked myself, why? They didn't even plug my book, my website, nothing. Oh, well...

Today was a better day!

Janie, yeah, I had an urge to email you today to see how you were doing. Had a feeling it might be a hard day for you. Hang in there. And yes, the invitaion stands.

Jeanette, I love Push/Pull as well and the Garage Boys really sound like fun. Yeah, that interview was not fun.

Rhea, I so remember the Turbo Jams -- I have given mine to my daughter and I now miss them. : )

Okay, so it's late and I'm off to bed. Have a really super day tomorrow -- oh, I forgot, today was Cardio & Weights and then tonight was CTX All Step, cardio only.:7

How's your shoulder doing? I understand (like CC's) that Turbo Jam is also a great workout. I think anything processed is bad news. There needs to be all kinds of preservatives in there for shelf life. Sorry you had a bad reaction to it. I have to admit fast foods is really nice sometimes, just because there is no time to make the real thing.

It was Boot Camp from 4DS cardio only for me and then tonight was 10-10-10 CTX.

Have a super weekend, everyone. Janie, let us know how things are going with you. Throwing yourself into something -- might help -- and one thing that always is a good thing to do is to take a walk daily, I think.

I forgot to add that yesterday I did "The Firm: Hare" and today I did the "Tortoise". I must be losing it because they were tough for me. I'm using them until STS comes out. Then it will be Cathe for a very long time. I can see myself doing it at least twice this year. I want some muscle!

Thanks Karen. Today I felt more like myself and got into my workouts. Tomorrow I'll start writing again. I have "Power Cardio" tomorrow but will leave out the weight lifting. It looks like I'll be sweating a lot.

Hi Morning!:)

Am checking in early today in an attempt to go to bed earlier and get up earlier. ;-)

Janie, I love the Tortoise & Hare workouts. I have them at home -- not here with me, though. Yeah, it seems that really throwing yourself headlong into something might help -- and long walks.

This week's rotation is going to be easy cause it's going to be the 4 DS. Will do one of the IMAX's on Monday and then Tues., Wed., Thurs., & Fri. will be the 4DS and then Sat -- probably some steady state cardio & a stretch and Sun. off. At least that's the plan right now.

I don't know about the STS -- the price is still offsetting for me, I'm afraid and since I don't have all of Cathe's earlier weight workouts, I'm thinking I might get those first.

Anyway, hope you're having a super weekend, everyone!

Today was IMAX3 -- 9 intervals and tonight was another cardio only CTX. I think my thyroid is what is giving me trouble with my weight. It was up this morning. Darn.x(

Writing wise -- only got 3 pages done today -- so much to do, it seems.

Anyway, hope you all had a terrific holiday and are ready to get back to work. Right...

Hi,
Had a great time in Reno on Friday, massage/facial was lovely, just lovely! Can't wait till the next one. The massage helped for the little pinching feeling I had under my scapula. The gal really worked that area good.

I will be leaving for Sacramento today and back on Thursday or Friday. Hotel has treadmill so will probably do a Cardio Coach and I will also bring some yoga DVD's.

Karen, I've been cutting down my cardio and upping the leg weighted workouts and also eating a bit more hoping to rev my metabolism. I feel less puffy with less cardio. Everyone is different though. I'll be counting my bike rides as my cardio instead of in addition to my step routines. Have to do something different.

Janie, hope you are doing okay. Many thoughts and good wishes going out to you re: your situation. Are you and DH getting counseling? Hare and Tortoise sounds good. I have never done a Firm workout.

So glad you had a good time in Reno. I once had a massage paid for from my daughter in law. It was so relaxing. Need one again soon.

I'm doing better. Yesterday and today am enjoying the quite around the house. Made vinegar, watched a movie. Tonight is Am. Idol. thinking about getting out my crochet stuff, or continue on a quilt that I've been doing for years. It's a hard one.

Good afternoon/evening!

Checking in late today, just too many things going on!

Keeping up with at least some sort of workout. Sat was Cardio Sculpt Express, plus Turbo Jam 20 minute workout; Sunday was another day spent in Reno picking up tile. Yesterday was Turbo Jam sculpt and then again added on the 20 minute cardio TJ. Today I had lunch early and did a workout, Cardio Collectibles, added on Great Abs from THorton (always gets me, I think I need to do that workout a couple of times a week for a while) The rest of the week will be whatever I can fit in. I'm thinking that the 4DS might be good or the CTXs. I know I need more weight workouts in there.

Shoulder is doing okay, not fully functional, so I modify all the time. I need to remember to do my PT exercises during the day more. I at least get one in, but I'm supposed to try and get three a day in. So, since I'm thinking of it....I'm going to finish up and do those darn things.

Well, I was going to do the 4DS this week, but time is short this week and so am doing the CTX series instead. Today was All Step all the way through and tonight was HIS on 4DS cardio only. That last interval just gets me on the step work -- I mostly just march through it and when Cathe says "Wasn't that fun?" I always say, "no." Hopefully sometime I'll get that down.

Jeanette, have fun in Sacramento. Gee, that massage and facial sounds absolutely wonderful!

Rhea, it's great to see you doing so well, though. One thing at a time. Those PT exercises will come. Loved that 20 minute workout -- again, I gave mine to my daughter. Sometimes I'll order another one.

Janie, LIS is a great workout -- actually like it better than HIS if only cause the footwork in HIS really stumps me and I don't have time to go back and learn it step by step. The quilt sounds great! You ok?

Wow, I lost my post. Am here at the hotel, just finished Cardio Coach #2 revised on the treadmill, finished with some stretches in my room. Tomorrow will be a yoga.

Rhea, glad you are working out again. Slowly but surely on the shoulder. How often do you have PT?

Karen, combo #3 on HIS is still tough for me. I fake it.

Janie, how was LIS? You have lots of projects to keep yourself busy.

Today was CTX Step & Intervals -- one of my favorites -- plus had a radio interview this morning -- which ate into my time a little, but not much. And tonight was one of Cathe's earlier cardio workouts -- can't remember the name of it. Lost that pound that went on.

Jeanette, I've found something here that might help with your metabolism and tendancy to retain water. I'll have to get the name of the CD's I've been listening to (I listen to them when I'm getting dressed and stuff). It's called Juice Feasting. Anyway, I'll try to get the name of the CD's and see if I can find a place where you can get this if you're interested.

The detox is getting better. My chiro/nutritionalist told me today that it appears that the detox is going well and almost done. Yea! I know that one cyst on my ear is almost gone now. Still slightly there but it's so very much smaller.

Yeah, that 3rd interval throws me -- I fake it, too.

Well, it's past my bedtime now. Writing isn't going as fast as I'd like cause I have my attention on so many other things with this book coming out here in a couple of weeks. But at least I'm getting in the time and a few pages written.
