KK's December Check-In

Good morning,
I didn't have time to post this morning as I was finishing up a French Toast Casserole for DH to take to work. I skipped my regular computer posting time so I could get to work early and eat with his crew. The casserole was good and there was sausage and ham on the side.

My workout this morning was Push/Pull. Fun workout with lots of variety. Tonite should have been the Garage Boys spin session but it's just too darned cold. All I could think about was getting home and curling up in front of the wood stove, which I did, taking a little nap too.

Karen, I totally understand if you need to spend less time on the computer. Hoping you can be done and home by Christmas. Go, go, go!!!

Janie, hoping we can do STS together at some point. It's going to be something for sure! Are you going to do your 1rm's? I haven't wrapped my mind around doing them. Seem like there are soooo many!

Rhea, stay warm! Talked to someone from Bieber this morning. It was 13 below. Yikes!

Good Mornin,

KK, Go Karen, Go, GO GO GO, and get home for Christmas.YEAH LOL!

Jeanette, That casserole sounds delicious! Curling up in front of a fireplace when it is so cold outside, is the bestest wonderful thing you can do. Enjoy.
I've done most of my 1rm. As you do them, you will find out that most of the exercises for each group of muscles, will be using the same weight. It's fairly easy, you'll get through it quicker than you think. I used a couple of days to figure it out and used it as my total body weight workout for those days. I'm going to start my STS Jan., 2009. Can you start then also?

Rhea, you are no dork, I have to admit, I've done that too. I bet your house is clean and the wood is ready to use on these very cold days. While you're at it, curl up in a blanket next to that warm fireplace and enjoy a book. That's what I suggested to Jeanette too. Hope you ladies do it, you deserve a little break.

Came back on to let you know that it is snowing really hard here and have about 9" so far. Decided to take out my snowshoes and had a great time with my Mollygoo (my little doggy) walking around for an hour. That felt so good!

I also ordered AOS Newport. I'm serious you guys, I'm going to workout hard and safe (of course). Now I have to purchase a kettlebell, I think I'll go to Target next time I'm out. About a 25#er sound right? I have to get rid of some weight before the 1st, maybe 8 pounds. I'll be snowshoeing for a couple of hours tomorrow, even the next day. The snow it suppose to be around for at least a week. YEAH!

Have a great day,

Janie

Good morning,
Today was the up premix of Pyramid Upper Body (no abs), then tacked on abs from Christi's Fit To Dance Cardio. Yesterday was about 50 minutes of Fit To Dance.

Janie, that's great that you've done your 1rm's. I don't even know what a lot of the exercises are. That's what's throwing me off. Guess I'll wait for the tutorial showing the exercises. Not sure exactly when I'll start STS but probably some time in January. Bet the snowshoe walk was fun. I should get mine out too. I forgot I had them. Maybe this weekend for a walk. I have the 18# KB and a 9#er. A lot of the work is shoulder work and I can't do them yet with my 18#er so that's why I got the 9#. You're probably lots stronger than I am. I think you will be fine with the swings for sure at 25#.

Hope everyone has a good weekend, will check back M or T.

Jeanette

Good Evening!

Just a quick post before bed. Am getting in only about 1/2 hr of exercise right now. Have upped my schedule even more to about 70 hours this week -- but hey, it's only for a week and then I should be done. Am getting excited.

Love reading all your posts just can't respond right now.

Have a super weekend.:D

Good Evening!

:D Today was cardio only from 4DS Bootcamp -- a short workout which I need right now.

Real quick here, Jeanette, you made my mouth water, just mentioning your casserole. Yum!

Janie, go girl. Yeah, get right back in there -- safely.

Hi Rhea! Thanks for the encouragement.

I'm off again, just back here at my apt for supper -- then it's back to the races. :D

Bought some Christmas cookies but dropped them on the ground (all of them) so can't eat them. Hmmm....

Have a super weekend.!:D

Very snowy night, it's about one foot! I don't remember this much snow since I was a little girl, if then.

Went snowshoeing today, will again tomorrow.

KK, I'm so glad you will be home for Christmas. Hope this class taught you what you wanted, and I'm sure it was worth it.

So sorry you lost your cookies! LOL! Would that be a sign?:rolleyes:LOL!

Just kidding, I won't even tell you what I've been eating lately. I feel I'm going to make up for it in a big way once the New Year is here.

See yas, soon.

Here it is Sun. and still a foot of snow and snowing still. Went snowshoeing, got all sweaty and loved every minute of it. My Mollygoo went with me. She is so small though, the snow swallowed her up, so she decided to follow in my tracks. She was able to get around then. It was so cute! Aren't animals just darling? She had enough of the snow within a half hour, so I put her back in the warm house and continued to have my fun.

Ate very well yesterday, all the right stuff, and today plan on eating this way again.

KK, I'm almost done reading your book "Night Thunder's Bride". You have described so many beautiful ways they lived and so many hardships that the Blackfoot Indians had to endure. Didn't know how passionate they were about so many areas in their lives, and how deep their beliefs were. The humor you presented was precious. WOW! What a great book, but Oh My, Was It Hot In Some Areas. I had to call on my hubby. LOL!

Must have been an Indian in a past life, if there is such a thing as a previous life. Have always been very attracted to their clothes, jewelry, tepees and their ways. Very unique, resourceful and interesting people in my opinion. We have Indian friends in Monument Valley that we visited at one time. Shared a meal, a special smoke and music with them. It was quite an experience. We were grateful to have known them and felt very privileged to allow us into their home.

You have a talent and skill that is so beyond me. I admire this in you. It's amazing that you can put into a book what you are thinking/imagining. That's Incredible! If we were to compare our artist ways, I suppose you have a way with words as I have a way with acrylics. We both paint a picture what we see, and show it in different ways to people. Isn't life grand that way?

Rhea and Jeanette, hope you are snuggled in a blanket and warming yourselves by the fireplace. Are you able to get around in the snow? Did you get snow?

See you all tomorrow,

Janie

Good Sunday!

Janie - it has been pretty nice here, cold, but no more snow at the moment. There is supposed to be another storm coming in tonight. It is cloudy and has been all morning, so it will probably dump on us later. My animals are getting bored already. Geeze.

Did P90 core cardio today. I love those workouts because they are so much shorter (all under an hour, most under 59 minutes.). I'm hoping that the STS has shorter versions.

Well, hope everyone is having a great weekend. Hope that class is even closer to being done Karen!

Talk to you later.

Good Mornin,

Rhea, my animals are bored too. I let my little Mollygoo outside with me for a little while, while I create a snowman, or a snowwoman. I don't know which one yet. I haven't made one since I was a young teenager. Didn't realize how much fun it is. Oh boy do I sweat under all those warm clothes! Maybe I should make one of each.

The P90 core cardio sounds like a great workout. I think it's the Master Series, right? I'm going to have to look into that one.

Jeanette, KK, know you are out there and hope you are having a wonderful time in the snow, (for Jeanette) or at classes (for KK). Miss you both.

Take care and have great workouts, I sure am,

I decided to make a snowman named Bubba:

Good morning,
No workout for me yesterday as Mondays are my rest day. Today was TLT's Strength in Movement. I enjoyed it and it was tough for me. Lots of balancing moves too. Good to shake things up.

Janie, love your snowman!!!!! Boy, you do have some snow, don't you? We don't have too much here. A lot melted yesterday.

Karen, will you be done this week? Are you driving home? Good vibes going out to you that you can finish and get home safely.

I'll be working all week, except for Thursday, of course.

Hi Jeanette,

I just wrapped up presents today all day long and started making a sponge to bake bread for tomorrow. Will bring the bread as part of our Christmas dinner.

I wanted to make another snowperson, but just didn't have a lot of time. No workout today at all. I need to be careful until the New Year anyway, since I took the antibiotics, could have a tendon rupture if I'm not careful.

Worried about all the snow on the ground, and at nights it freezes. We may just stay home and be safe.

What are your plans for Christmas?

KK, Hope you made it home for the Holidays.

Rhea, What are your plans for Christmas?

If I don't talk with you, tomorrow, have a great Christmas and be safe out on the roads.

Janie

I'm looking out my window right now and we are nearing 2 feet of snow as I type. It's so beautiful outside! Don't remember all the years I've lived in this part of the country where the snow was this deep.

Suppose to go to to our daughters for Christmas, and may not make it out of our driveway. We have everything packed and ready to go. Bread is rising and will bake it sometime today. Thinking about taking the ferry this time. Would most likely be safer.

Do you remember my little meez. I finely got her back! Cuter than ever.

Enjoy your Christmas everyone, if we can't make it over towards Seattle, then you'll be hearing from me here, safe and sound in my own home.

Good morning!

Not much in plans for Christmas day. It is snowing here too. No traveling planned. the only thing we are going to do is bring breakfast over to DH's dad's house. They are elderly and are not doing as well as they used to. They eat horribly. So I'm going to force a good morning meal on them. (step-mom can't cook anymore, she doesn't remember things well at all and father-in-law has never cooked in his life)

Drive safe if you go Janie. Have a wonderful holiday.

KK - hope you are getting home safe and sound.

Jeanette - are you still working? I took this week off. Nice snowy weather we are having. Have a wonder holiday too!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Cute Meez, glad you got her back Janie!

I'm not sure if I will work out today. I think DH and I are going to see the Curious Case of Benjamin Button today. Something to do besides watch the boob tube.

Have a great one
!

Rhea,

I want to see that movie too. I have it on saved in Netflix.

I'm playing with my iRobot Roomba. It vacuums the carpet automatically. It's a little robot for rugs. It's darling. I'm going to look at other ones, they are so interesting.

I'll start my exercises Jan. 1st. It will be hard hit.

Good Afternoon!

I'm finished!!!! I'm done with this very long and immense course!!!!:D

There is a short, accompanying course that I may do -- or not -- I don't know for sure right now, but the thing is, I'm only a few weeks to 1 month away from coming home and being home! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it. In truth, I've been so busy trying to finish this, that I didn't have much time to remember how homesidk I am.

Tues, Wed and Thurs were spent completely on course -- from 8:30 AM to 11 or 12 PM each day -- no workouts. But now I'm done and I'm back to my more regular schedule. I am going to catch up with you all and go and read all your posts, but I just wanted you to know that it's done. This is the biggest and most immense course I have done since...well, since probably my younger days in school.

Hope you are all doing well -- I'll go catch up now.:D

Good Afternoon!

In catching up with all the posts, I noticed, Janie, that you paid me some wonderful compliments. Thank you so much! Yes, this culture is very important to me, too. Yes, I know the books are a bit hot...it's part of the genre. My current editor wanted me to write more of those scenes in my latest book, and I did accomodate her, but always I try to make the hot scenes beautiful.

Rhea and Jeanette, you have snow -- and you, too, Janie. What a wonderful Christmas that would be. It's warm here in Florida and I am only a few weeks from being home. I am so excited.

Have a super few days here leading up to the New Year -- let me close this post with words from an Irving Berlin song -- from the movie, HOLIDAY INN.

"So let the old year die, with a fond good-bye,
And our hopes as high as a kite.
How can our love go wrong if...
We start the New Year right?"

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!

KK, you are not home yet? You are not done with classes yet? Shoot.

Glad to here from you and that you are safe.

The hot scenes are beautiful.

Great poem, by the way.

Bubba got snowed in, could hardly find him (he is a little taller than me), it snowed so much here. Last I measured the snow was over 24". I think it got to 26+". Seriously. Then I saw the carrot for Bubba's nose! LOL  He looked like a tree stump with a carrot sticking out.

Jeanette, and Rhea, hope you are having fun where ever you are.

Janie
