KK's April Rotation

Hi Everyone,

Rhea, I sent off an email to Beach Body inquiring on my TJ status, haven't heard anything back yet. Glad you like them. I'm excited that Karen ordered them too! Wow, 666 calorie burn is a lot. Sure it wasn't 667? I like that number better, LOL!

Yesterday, I waited at my mom's for the DSL installation man to come. Guess they determined that she wouldn't be able to get it at her house, but never called her or myself. I ran home and the installer had already been to my house but left the DSL package for me to install myself, which I did (thanks to the handy dandy CD). I'm still investigating options for my mom though. I won't give up!

I was also supposed to go down to the valley today for a branding but decided against it and it's raining today so guess it was a good call. Hopefully, the weather will be okay for the group bike ride. DH left with his buddies last night for the pig hunt down in the valley. Think they have rain now. I did see a lot of beer loaded in the trailer so bet they are staying warm and hydrated anyway.

Last night I worked out on the Bowflex. I worked the weights like a pyramid workout and it was good. Today's workout was TLT's Finding Your Core. I haven't done these for a while and this one worked me pretty good, though last time I did it it wasn't as taxing. I made sure I went fairly light on any shoulder weight work due to last night's bowflex workout. I still feel these TLT's are important for me, just need to fit them in.

Oh yeah, I ordered Eoin Finn's Power Yoga For Happiness DVD. Have read good reviews and it's chaptered and premixed so think I'll be able to use it better. I only have yoga videos and don't reach for videos much There's a 30 minute premix that I've read is good.

Like I said, a rainy day here so will find something useful to do inside today.

Jeanette

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Natalie & Jeanie!:)

Am so glad to see that everyone is keeping in with their rotations. Yes, I hadn't seen the TJ's video and it just happened to be on one morning and the workouts looked like so much fun, that I decided to try them -- it wasn't as expensive as I had thought it might be -- so I'm excited to get them, too.

Well, have finished touring in Atlanta and am so ready to be moving on westward tomorrow morning. Have been keeping the workouts in, though today's was short as I didn't have a great deal of time. It was the 37 minute version of KPC for me today and yesterday I think I did a step workout and the day before Push/Pull.

Wow, Jeanette, you were able to get some rides in with shorts -- what fun -- would say more, but am on the hotel's computer and someone is waiting for their turn at it -- so I might not post a rotation, only because I'm not sure of the time schedule and all. But I know that I do plan an anaerobics workout of some kind tomorrow -- it's been raining and storming here a bit and so my workouts have been inside.

Another moldy hotel here in Atlanta. Am off to call the hotel tomorrow and ask about their beds...

Have a super day everyone and terrific workouts.:7

Hi Karen, Rhea, Natalie & Jeanie:

It was Cool It Off for me today, a 1 hour stretch, which felt great. I really need to do the hip openers in my chair at work. So easy to do and would help me a lot. Will do a Bowflex workout with DH tonite.

Yesterday's group bike ride didn't materialize as it was drizzling, but I called a girlfriend and we rode around 11:30. We did about 45 miles with a good climb. She's getting stronger and riding well. Good bike workout for me. We will have another group ride Tuesday after work with the ladies. Should be fun.

DH got home from his wild pig hunting trip. Even though they didn't get anything, they had a blast and he sure wished I'd been there as the property they were on had miles of mtn. bike riding trails. Said there was lots of running water. He was really impressed with it and hopes for us all to go in the fall.

Rhea, guess you know my friend Vickie? She's a kick to be around. In fact, she and I are going to Folsom on Friday afternoon, staying the night and riding the American River Bike trail on Saturday. Should be lots of fun and hopefully, the weather will cooperate. I love the bikeway there. Got to ride it when I was down in Sac for training a couple years ago. It's a blast and has so much variety, nice change from here.

Karen, glad you are getting in the workouts, even shorter ones. Hopefully, when you return to LA, you can concentrate on them more. I'm hoping to hear from Beach Body today as I emailed them, but don't hold out a lot of hope. I may have to call someone. Wonder why their service is so bad. Wouldn't you think they'd work on that and get a better reputation?

Must go now. Will have to mow the lawn after work today. It's getting scary!

Jeanette

Good morning all!

Jeanette, the best way to contact BB is through the on-line chat.
Yeah, I guess so, I just met her this Saturday. She's dating the gentleman across the street and came with him to the BBQ we all had. Mutual friends of ours that moved came for a visit, so we all got together this weekend. They're my excuse for not working out on Sat! Vickie was a kick in the pants. When she asked me about you she used your last name, and I was like..."who?" Took me a minute, what can I say, I have blonde moments. I hope that weather cooperates for you.

Drive safe Karen......

Oh, workouts, Friday I did P90 circuit 3/4 and Ab Jam....nothing this weekend. Gardening all yesterday, so that was a good back workout. Today should be a cardio of some sort.

Have a great day.

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Natalie & Jeanie!:)

Whew! Well, here I am in Birmingham, AL -- my goodness, but it is beautiful here -- I had no idea it was so utterly gorgeous in Alabama -- my previous conceptions of this state are all blown away.

Just a few more book signings left -- a few more drop ins and then it's homeward bound for me. Can't tell you how homesick I am.

It was a Sprint 8 for me today -- tomorrow am planning on Supersets -- glad to see all is going well with the both of you.

This particular hotel has a gorgeous business center and also a workout center -- yea! Well, must sign off for now -- it's vrey late and I have to be up early.

Have a wonderful day tomorrow, everybody -- and great workouts.:7

Good morning!

Hi Rhea! Great to see you yesterday at the store. So fun to share exercise with someone else. I'm the lone exerciser where I work. Lots of good intentions but they can't seem to find anything they'll stick with. I love working out to DVD's. Without them, I'd probably not do it either. Actually Vickie gave me a Yoga Zone for beginners video 2 years ago and that's what got me started. I can't wait to get my TJ's, you definitely have my interest peeked. By the way, you look great! Very healthy and trim. I did go home, eat, and mowed both lawns. Later, DH and I did an upper body workout on the Bowflex. He hadn't lifted since last Wednesday cuz he was getting ready for his trip. Think he felt a little weaker but know he will get into it. He's down another pound from last week and he feels really good for being able to lose. Slow and steady should do it for him. He's not even doing any cardio (yet). He's cut back on his beer and that's helping. He also walked a lot over the weekend while they were hunting so that helped too.

This morning's workout was the hi/lo (most of up until real high impact) of MIC and then I switched to CTX Power Circuit (without the weights), including the planks and abwork. Great workout. Have a bike ride with the gals after work today. Looking forward to it. Hope we don't get thunderstorms.

Karen, I have friends that moved to Huntsville, Alabama and from the pictures, it's very pretty. Are you getting used to the humidity? Always wondered how I'd do in that. Rhea and I are both anxious for you to be back home. It's not like you're going to be less busy or anything. Glad you've got a workout center where you are.

Take care all!

Jeanette

Good morning!

Hi Jeanette - It was aweseome talking to you at the store yesterday. You are so right, it is great to talk about the exercise, I just love it. You looked absolutely wonderful. So petite and trim. I really wouldn't worry about getting cardio in, your biking does that for you. I have a mountain bike that I need to get fixed. I love riding the Biz Johnson trail, but my wrists hurt when I ride, so I don't ride much. Maybe with all these push-ups I've done lately, they will be a little stronger.

I can't wait for you and Karen to get the TJs. I sure hope you have fun with them. I'm totally addicted, I'm forcing myself to do something else today so I don't burn out on them.

I went home and did the Kick, Punch and Jam one of the newest set of TJs. I didn't use the gloves, my shoulders were not up to it. I was going to add on some Cathe, but realized part way through, I was just whipped, and hungry. It was a long time since I had eaten!

Have a great day everyone!

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Natalie & Jeanie!:)

Wow, it's great that you two got together -- and you are both right -- you both are trim and pretty.

Can't wait to get home. Have one more booksigning to do -- it's on Thursday -- have some driving to do to get there -- and then after that, it's pretty much a straight shot home -- am very anxious to get home, myself -- miss my life -- my cats -- my hubby -- everything -- and touring is never easy. But at least in this hotel, the bed is not moldy...and the room is big and nice.

Today it was Supersets -- and I did it in the workout room -- I was the only one there -- it was fun using an exercise room -- have never done that before.

Tomorrow is a short cardio -- probably a run -- and then a stretch. Then packing up yet again and heading further west.

Have a great day, everyone and wonderful workouts.:7

Good morning,

Karen, so glad you're near the end of the tour. I like the idea of heading west. Into the sunset and all... I don't have Supersets, but want to get that one some day.

Rhea, I'd love to go mtn. biking sometime with you on the Biz. I'm not a very good mtn. biker as far as technical stuff goes, but I can handle the Biz LOL. Of course, when I get into the tunnels, I have to take off my sunglasses as it's pretty dark in there. I wonder if they fixed the long tunnel yet. Probably not. Last year you had to go around it as it was closed due to the ceiling crumbling. For the marathon last year they put some kind of a tube inside to protect the runners. Susanville Ranch is fun too.

Today's workout was upper body only (premix) from Muscle Max. Good workout and the Slim Series and Bowflex haven't hurt me one single bit. I didn't do any leg work as I want fresh legs for my hill climb ride (race) tomorrow after work. My bike ride yesterday with 3 other ladies was really fun and a nice pace, not necessarily a training pace. We did 26 miles and the weather was awesome. Nice conversational pace, just what I was looking for workout wise. Tonite will be a walk after work with DH and the dogs and then will help DH with the Bowflex and maybe some ab work for me as I didn't do any this morning.

Tomorrow the bosses are taking us to lunch. It will be Mexican food so I'm hoping for some low-cal options. Hmmm. After work will be the hill climb and then a baseball game for my grandson.

Have good workouts, okay?

Jeanette

Good morning!

Karen- I double the soooo glad that you are almost done. Drive safe though. I know with wanting to get home you may push for longer drive times. (at least I would)

Jeanette- I'll have to get that bike fixed! Plus, a couple of practice runs since I have no idea what my "bike" cardio capacity is like.

Yesterday I did the Gauntlet from the Terminator DVD. That was quite fun. The TJs are definately helping my aerobic capacity. I was not that worn out during this workout. Oh, the terminator DVD, if you don't have it, is a compilation of workouts from the intensity series. The Gauntlet is an IMAX 2, with the blast, followed by Cardio and Weights and then a couple of Boot Camps, these rotate supposedly seven times. But I don't remember that many. I even did better on those terminators! (and I detest those)Whew.

Well, have a great day everyone!

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Jeanie & Natalie!:)

Both your workouts sound so motivating. Since I was moving on today -- and had a long drive ahead of me -- I only did about a 30 minute walk/run and then stretch. I've heard that the Gauntlet is really advanced workout, Rhea, so that's cool that you enjoyed it.

And Jeanette, I'm always so impressed with how many miles you put in with the bike.

Again, am using the hotel's computer and so must be short -- am planning some sort of anaerobic workout tomorrow -- and then as soon as this signing is done -- tomorrow evening, it's pretty much a straight shot home. Am looking forward to it -- to getting home.

Have some great workouts everyone and a super day.:7

Good morning Karen, Rhea, Jeanie & Natalie:

It was Bryan Kest's Power Yoga #1 for me this morning and I have my bike hill climb ride after work (for cardio). That'll be a toughy and I'll push. After that, it's off to my grandson's baseball game. Oh yeah, helped DH on the Bowflex last night. I didn't do the ab work like I thought, but spent time helping him. He's really trying harder with his eating and beer drinking.

Today the bosses are taking us out for Mexican food for lunch (Administrative Professional's Week). I'm hoping to pick a light lunch as I don't need anything heavy sitting there before my ride.

Rhea, get that bike ready. Your cardio will be great for the cycling, it's the different leg muscles that will probably be more fatigued at first (plus your butt hurting). Heck, I walked around the block yesterday with the dogs and my legs were tired from that! What a wimp I felt like. I like the Gauntlet too and will probably revisit my circuit workouts later on. Haven't done that one for quite some time. Maybe I'll do it tomorrow as I'll be off. Vickie & I will be leaving in the afternoon for Folsom. Really looking forward to riding the American River Bikeway on Saturday. Should be beautiful down there. Rhea, your energy level seems to have gone thru the roof, compared to some of your postings last year. Something's working for you, girl! And you do exude energy in person too!

Karen, glad it's about over, but know it's probably been very successful for your book. Can't wait until you are back home with your family. Seems like you've been gone for sooooo long.

Must get going now,

Jeanette

How about next month changing this thread to the new Check In area that was created yesterday?

Good morning!

Jeanette, I look forward to anything that challenges the fat on the legs. :D This over 40 thing is starting to show....eeek...Have a great time with Vickie tomorrow. I'm just stoked that the weather is wonderful. I was actually tooo warm yesterday, but am not going to complain, just comment that it is noticeably warmer.

I guess the energy is better. Either that or I'm just not being as lazy.

Karen - drive safe.....have a wonderful trip home!

Good morning Karen, Rhea, Natalie & Jeanie:

My day off today, will be leaving later for the valley (Folsom) to ride the American River Bikeway with a friend. Should be fun. I'm late getting going here, need to shower, clean up house a bit, pack, etc.

Rhea & Karen, I received my Turbo Jam in the mail yesterday! I previewed and then did 20 minute Turbo Jam and then did the Turbo Sculpt workout. So much fun!! Love the music!! Karen, I think you will like these for the fun factor! I also previewed Cardio Party and I love it! I've been hoping for something fun to do and I think these will really fit the bill!!! Can't wait to do the Cardio Party workout in a couple days!

My hill climb bike ride yesterday was good. I didn't finish as badly as I thought. It was windy so the first part up to the climb was tough, but I just keyed into my body and breathing and managed just fine. It felt good to push myself and then recover with a nice downhill.

Must get going, when I return, will start some yard work.

Jeanette

Hi ladies!

Beautiful day here, yippee! Had a great trip down to Folsom, did some shopping at the outlet stores across the street from the hotel (got some new workout shoes - New Balance 609's), some goodies for DH and then hit the American River Parkway early next morning. Did 47 miles, it was absolutely fabulous, weather was perfect for cycling, lots of wildflowers, nice shady trees to ride underneath. Lots of people out but not too crowded. Lots of Team In Training people, Bikeathon kids, runners, walkers, just people staying fit. So great to see. It was actually pretty mild weather there, slight overcast. Much hotter up here for some reason.

Today's workout was the 45 minute Turbo Jam Cardio Party. What fun and the time flies! Will do un upper body workout tonite on the Bowflex. Today's other workout will be cleaning up the yard. Lots of stuff to do out there.

Good workouts

Jeanette

Hi Jeanette & Rhea -- Natalie & Jeanie!:)

Finally am at a hotel where I can log on to the internet -- am in Albuquerque and my DH has joined me here and it is great. We'll be here tomorrow as well and then head home -- it's like a little one day vacation for us -- gosh, it's good to see him.

Have been continuing to work out though the schedule is a little tough as I've been so wanting to get home -- won't post a schedule, as I'm unsure of what I'll be doing from day to day -- today was a simple walk -- yesterday was KPC -- short version and day before was Supersets.

Can't wait to get home -- even though I know a thousand and one things will be awaiting me, including an all out line for the next book. Pant...pant...

Am so glad that the turbo jams are fun -- I can't wait to get them, too. When I saw them on TV, they looked incredibly fun -- a good addition to the regular rotations. Still am wanting the CTX series, but it might wait for now as I'm hoping the turbo jams will be there when I get there.

Have almost forgotten how much I love the west with the dry air and mountains and landscapes that go on forever. Of course Albuquerque is quite a beautiful city, too.

Went way off my diet today, but overall I've been really good and so I am not going to fret over it -- it was great to cheat for a day.

Anyway, have some wonderful workouts and a terrific Monday!:7

Hi everyone,

Sounds like you are having a good trip, Karen. When do you get to go home?

I just printed the May rotation but not sure if I will do it because I don't have the PS or S&H series. Guess I could just use the gym style workouts but might get a little monotonous.

The weather has been cool and windy here. Hopefully will warm up later this week as I would really like to get in some walks.

Natalie

Hi Natalie!

Nice to hear from you. I too saw the May rotation. I do have S&H, but not the PS series. Not sure what I will do. I need to get some structure though and sit down and plan something.

I moved the May Check In over to the new forum - Check Ins & Challenges.

See you guys over there!

Jeanette

Karen and Natalie---

Just in case, it took me a while to find the Check Ins and Challenges section. It just didn't show up on the list of threads. If you don't see it at the complete bottom of the page of threads, go up to the top section of the boxes that says: top > cathe friedrich> etc...
Click on the "top" section and it will show you the last thread on the bottom of the page which is the check ins thread. Hope to see you there soon!
