KK's April Check In

Good Evening!:)

Wow! That's quite a graphic. Wish my kickboxing looked like that.:)

Yeah, the only way I could find (prior to my doing this juice feasting) was to do 2 workouts a day. A short one in the evening right before I went to bed -- boy, I sure did sleep well after those. Only 25-30 minutes and all cardio.

Have you thought, Janie, about using phyto-estrogens? Or plant estrogens? I went through all of Menopause using the phyo-estrogens -- from a place called White Wing Labs -- I forget their website -- there's several out there with that name -- and all my symtoms went away without the danger of gaining weight and the real danger of cancer. You might google it -- it might take a few times to find the right White Wing Labs -- and get their tapes and listen to their information -- it's really helpful. And the tapes are free.

Anyway, here's the plan for this coming week:

Mon: Day off
Tues: IMAX2
Wed: ME
Thurs:Cardio & Stretch
Fri: Boot Camp (Intensity series)
Sat: Bootcamp cardio only -- 4DS
Sun: Cardio & Weights

My production this weekend is down -- mostly due to the need to do more research and think... 5 pages yesterday and 6 so far today, but I have the night before me.

Have a super day, everyone and some terrific workouts!:7

Good morning!

How are y'all doing! I'm a bit pooped and not a wit of working out this weekend. Saturday consisted of heavy furniture moving and painting. Yes, something made me do it. However, my bedroom looks pretty good. It is sure clean. Since I was painting, I also rearranged the furniture and when I did that I cleaned the back of the furniture, vaccumed, etc. So yesterday was spent finishing up the room, doing some of the little chores for the bathroom (like taking out the old molding around the door, installing the new molding and painting it. (that was an experience, I had to use both the table saw and the nail gun, oooh, power tools) Let's see, oh then I installed the new shower curtain rod. Yes, I said install....those really cool curved ones....they have to be screwed into the wall. I'm not quite done with things, still a lot of "stuff" hanging around the house. I need to start purging things. I have way too much stuff for two people.

Well, looks like y'all had a great weekend. It was cooooold here, so no outdoor stuff. I've got to take off early today and finish up the house and get a workout in before DH gets home. Think he'll notice? Well, he should notice something since the bed is on the opposite wall!

Have a great day everyone!

KK thank you for your suggestions. The estrogen I'm taking is a plant derivative, so I'm fairly sure it's OK. Still not a lot of research done on it, but feel good about it. Taking it off and on for 16 years. I need it in my life probably for the long term from being so dry you know where. Getting older is no fun. I'll check into that green drink.

Rhea, you are such a busy girl! How do you do it?

Will be doing a split weight training today with hubby, just haven't picked it out yet. Have to wait for DH to get home anyway.

Jeanette, hi to ya, hope you are good.

Take care and have great workouts.

Janie

Good Evening!:)

Love this graphic -- I play piano -- but did you also look at the background?

Anyway, no workout for me today and not a lot written either as this was my day off -- did some things on food -- and of course the blog takes my time on these Mondays. Tomorrow I should get back on track again.

Rhea, my goodness! You did all this by yourself? And power tools, no less? Wow! Again, Wow! Yeah, I think just maybe your DH might notice the bed is in a different place. Made me smile. So well done, Rhea!

Janie, oh, good, I'm so glad that it's from plant estrogens -- personally I think they're safer. You know, the workout in the evening really does work for me -- I might throw it back in there eventually -- just with the deadline, I'm so busy.

Hi Jeanette!

Well, it's late and so I gotta run! Have a super day!:7

Hi,
Forgot to post yesterday, but I was off my rhythm. Took yesterday as a rest day. Was going to ride my bike after work, but it was just too windy and cool. Today will probably be windy too, but again have a bike ride planned. I did Slow & Heavy Legs today, then supermans, planks and abs from S&H.

Rhea, wow, you got lots done!!! I'm impressed. I need to do that too. I did go to the golf course on Saturday and told the guy at the desk that I would like to take lessons. Turns out, it was Chuck Spirk. Very nice man. I will call him this week to schedule a lesson for next week. Looking forward to it!

Karen, I see you and I took yesterday off from exercising, though busy anyway with other things. Are you wrapping things up on the book yet?

Janie, which weight workout did you do today? My DH is still painting so he thinks that's the same as a workout.

Gotta run,

Jeanette

Even though the background is futuristic, piano will never go out of style.;-)

Joe and I did back work yesterday. We chose 4 great exercises including pull ups and did 8 reps each. I had made a ballet barre not too long ago and I used it to do my pull ups. Like Cathe uses her new contraption to pull her up. It was great! Joe used the Smith Machine and we were able to do the exercises together.

Today will be Butts and Guts. Joey doesn't know what he is in for today!

Jeanette, have a great bike ride!

If you have time check out the elephant painting it's portrait from u-tube. I but it on the Open Discussion. It's something else!

Rhea, see you around girl.

Take care everyone.

Good Evening!:)

Another great graphic. Janie, do you have a link for the elephant painting -- or if I go to open discussion, I'll be able to see it? Did you do the painting?

Wow, Jeanette, you and I both took yesterday off. It's getting so that Monday's and Tuesday's are my busiest times and so these are the days for me to take off while I'm here, I guess.

Today was IMAX2 -- always a favorite for me and tomorrow am planning ME. 7 pages today, but I'm not yet at that point where it's time to just wrap things up -- I'm getting there. This book is interesting in that it has a strong pace, which I'm not really used to writing. But each book is different.

I am at the point where I'm no longer worried about pages, but just telling the rest of the story and getting to the end of the book. I have a ways to go on that.

Anway...

Jeanette, yes, Rhea had mentioned that it was cold, so I can understand not getting that ride in. S & H, huh? That's one of the series that I don't have, but am seriously thinking about. Superman's are some of my favorite abs type workout.

Janie, great on Buttes and Guts -- that's not an easy workout. And Joe is hanging right in there. I love it.

Hi Rhrea!

Okay, so have a super day, everyone!:7

Morning,
Had a good bike ride climb after work yesterday with 2 other ladies. We plan on a longer ride on Sunday to get us ready for an event in the valley on the 4th of May. Today was 4 combos of Christi Taylor's Solid Gold Step, the Bi's and Tri's from 4DS. Have a good pump going in my arms right now.

Karen, enjoy ME today. Know how much you like that one. I do like S&H, think it is worth it. Glad you are not pushed for the page count now.

Janie, how did your DH like B&G??? Mine would be dying from it I'm sure. He never likes working his legs, just the glamor muscles of the arms and abs. He needs to start working out again, but it's got to be his choice.

Hi Rhea, hope you are well.

Jeanette

Good morning!

Forgot to post yesterday!

Oh Yeah, yesterday was Tuesday, busy court date, no wonder I forgot.

Anyhoo.....Monday I did Turbo Jam Lower Body; yesterday I did Turbo Jam's Cardio Party #3. I'll probably throw in the lower body again today just for some consistency. Then next week I'll put some more Cathe into the rotation again. Well, after my trial that is.

Sounds like everyone is keeping busy.

Hey Jeanette - the "working gals" golf on Tuesday evenings at 5:30 starts May 6th. We play nine holes. I'm going to try to golf by then. Sure hope it warms a little. I'm not fond of golfing in the sleet/wind/snow. We did that once that year and froze!!

Here is the elephant link. It is so cool!

Elephant Paints Self Portrait!

KK, I'm glad you are nearing yet another book. There is talent written all over you. It just aws me.:D

Jeanette, Enjoy your wonderful bike rides. I love reading about them. What is the name of the event on May 4th? Joey says his glamor muscles is his BUTT.:7 He's now 204 from 218 pounds. Says it was a very tough workout. He did hang in there, bless his heart.

Rhea, hope you had good weather during golfing. Looks like a great workout.

Today's exercises for us are biceps. This will be another Janie's workout. We'll do; hammer curls, barbell curls, concentration curls, but on this one we will hold too much weight and then use gravity to take it down as slow as we can. We also will do hammer angle curls, and just maybe chin ups, depends how we feel when we are done. All with 8 reps as much weight as we can handle until failure.

Have a great middle of the week (hump day).

Janie

Good Evening!:)

ME was great today. Did the entire workout, it's been a while since I've done the full thing. Am still working on my writing, I must admit -- so no page count as of right now.

Jeanette, that bike climb sounds great. Like Janie, I love reading about them. So cool that you have a pump going in your upper body right now, as well. Christi Taylor -- sounds great!

Rhea -- court -- I don't know how you do it all, Rhea. But I do admire all that you do. Love the Turbo Jams. When I can think again, I need to check those out again.

Janie, I love your Janie workout. ;-) That is so creative. Thanks for your compliments, Janie. Comes at a great time, whilc I'm under deadline. It seems to me that you're very creative, as well.

Well, gotta get down to work. Haven't done quite enough yet.

Have a super day! :7

Morning,
Today was 4DS Kickbox, then 4DS Chest & Back, then the core from 4DS LIS. I went heavy on the barbell rows and did better than my last round.

Karen, knew you'd enjoy ME as that's one of your favorites. I haven't done it in quite a while either.

Janie, I was in awe of the elephant U-tube clip. Amazing. My event on May 4th is the Shasta Jamboree. I've done distance variations of it for the last 3 years. We'll be doing the metric, which is really 50 miles, but lots of climbing. Made me very happy to read your post on OD about your DH. Life is good!

Rhea, I would love to golf on Tuesdays, but that is the only day that my friend Lisa can ride so we've already settled on Tuesdays for our hill climb ride. If it changes, I'd sure be interested. I scheduled a lesson with Chuck Spirk on May 2 at 4:30. Looking forward to it.

Gotta run,

Jeanette

Hmm, thought I posted already today. Guess not.

Yesterday I did Turbo Jam Lower Body and then added on the first 1/2 of Christi Taylor's Solid Gold Cardio. DH wasn't home when I finished up the Turbo Jam, so I decided to keep working out until he got home. I though maybe I would get in 10 more minutes. I was very glad when he finally got home at the end of the first half of the workout. (about 30-40 minutes later) I wasn't going to be able to go any more!!

Today will end up being a rest day since I'm going to drive with Rick to a second interview in Redding. I don't think this jobi s very promising though since it doesn't pay too much. Probably not even more than he would make as a teacher here.

Well, have to make this short. The IT nazis are complaining about use of internet at work....sheeze.

Have a great day everyone!

Good Evening!:)

It was Body Max 1 -- first part cardio only for me today. Really like that workout. I like the warm up -- something fun about it. Then a stretch #1 from Hardcore series. Was good. 6 pages today -- so few because I'm really having to delve into research here -- my couple has finally arrived that the Iroquois village and I really need to know what I'm describing here.

Anyway, word count it good, now it's a matter of getting in the rest of the book and wrapping it up.

Jeanette, yes, I so love ME -- it always makes me feel good. But boy, I sure like Body Max 1, as well. Oh, I so like 4DS Kickbox -- what a great workout that is. Sounds like you're really on track.

Rhea, that's so cool that you were able to get in that extra time exercising. Have a fun trip to Redding. Redding is very pretty, isn't it? Although you and Jeanette live in a town that borders on paradise as far as its beauty. You made me laugh again with you wise comments on the IT nazis.

Hi Janie! Boy do I love your graphics.

Anyway, have a super day! Good workouts everyone.

Morning,
Today was Legs & Glutes. Hoping for a short bike ride right after work today. Have a longer ride planned on Sunday.

Karen, BM1 is a workout I don't have. Glad you enjoyed it. Bet you've learned so much about the Iroquois people.

Rhea, I'm surprised that you have IT nazis but only because I keep thinking you work in a private company. How did your DH's interview go? Bet it was beautiful in Redding yesterday.

Hi Janie,

Hope everyone has a good weekend planned,

Jeanette

Good morning!

I'm bushed. It was a stressful ride and evening. DH was late from Reno. He didn't get here until almost 3:15. We had to be in Redding by 5 pm. We made it with four minutes to spare. Ate dinner at Red Lobster. We didn't get home until almost 10:00. However, as we were getting ready for bed, we heard a bang out front and knew that the neighbor dog had been hit. So we had to go out and stay with him until CHP arrived and they went and got the owners. Sort of strange, I think that the only injury Hank had was either his hips or his back legs because after a while he tried to get up. We couldn't just leave him there. I know the neighbors came and got him, but I don't know if they will take him to a vet. I sure hope that he doesn't suffer any. Suffice it to say that I took a long time to get to sleep last night, my darn nervous system went wacko because of the stress. Then for some reason, I was back up awake at 5 this morning. Stomach all messed up and everything. Pfft, getting older just sucks. Hopefully, today will be better.

Redding was nice and warm. After this second interview, DH doesn't want that job. He really grilled them about things and it seemed to him that the school board micromanaged and did whatever the teachers wanted. That is not a good situation for a principal. The administration has to be able to make tough decisions sometimes with support of the board.

Well, I'll see if I have any energy to workout this afternoon. Have a couple of hearings today. Not a regular Friday darn it.

Have a great day!

KK, If you like these grapics you can have them too. They are characters you create and can dress them up, animate and have various backgrounds. Here is the link. meez.com They are a lot of fun, I'm a kid at heart.
Half the stuff for your meez is free and the other half you need to buy. It's enough free stuff to make it worth your while. Good luck on your book, it sounds like it's just about done. WOW!

Jeanette, We will be doing 4DS this week and looking forward to it. Glad you liked the U tube of the elephant. It amazed me.

Rhea, sounds like you are unhappy at work. I hope you find something made just for you with your searching. How is the dog that got hit by a car doing? Hope you have a great weekend and a much relaxed one too.

See yas Monday,

Janie

Wow, everyone must have been real busy this weekend.

Janie - I don't know how the dog is. I have a feeling that he had to be put down. I'm still a little sad everytime I think about it. He was a sweetheart and was very lovable.

Well, I did not get to workout this weekend. My lower back is out of wack. Very stiff. I'm hoping that sitting today isn't going to set me back. Yesterday was okay since I moved around a lot. Oh well.

I have to prep for my trial today. OH joy. At least it is a fast one. Have a great day everyone!

Hi Rhea,

I'm sorry about the dog. I could just cry.

Today I can't workout either, so don't feel bad. We all can only do what we can do. I have a cold and it's really getting me down.

Hope your back survives the day. Take a hot bath when you get home and soak.

Take care,

Janie

Good Afternoon!:)

Can't believe I forgot to post. It's been a really busy weekend. I only have 3 more days to deadline and I have a lot to do -- got real stuck on something in the Iroquois village and couldn't find my way out and so ended up doing more research. I think I'm out of it now, but... I have one more scene to write and then the ending sequence, however long that takes (it might take 50 pages). Deep breath. I'm so stressed out with this that on my workout this morning I was jumping really, really high, trying to work off that stress.

Anyway,...

Oh, Rhea, my heart goes out to that dog. I have 3 dogs and they are precious -- and I love my cats, too. And there's Georgie. My heart just goes out to it. But you did the right thing. Rescuing the animal and doing the best you could do. Not everyone would do that, so thank you for that. Hope your back heals up real well, as well. Yeah, it sounds like the ride to Redding was stressful -- being late and everything. Anyway, here's to things looking up and going better.

Janie, thank you for the link. Wow, I could have my own graphics. I love it. Of course my little laptop here probably couldn't handle the load, but once I get home... How was 4DS this weekend. Love those workouts.

Hi Jeanette! How was your weekend. Did you ride?

Okay, so this week I'm doing CTX -- cause they are shorter (which I need) and I don't have to think of rotations. Today was the 1st one -- can't remember what it's called -- maybe power circuits. Anyway, am very stressed, jumping all over the place here.

Gotta run! Have a really super day!:7
