KK's April Check In

Hi all,
Today was Butts & Guts standing & stability ball abs premix. Love this one. Yesterday I played a few holes of golf. Waiting for the range to open and get a lesson. Lordy I need one!

Karen, MM is a good one too. I like the pace of lifting in that one. Wow, you've been in Florida a LONG time now. You are one committed lady. Your DH must be very supportive. Don't think mine would want me gone that long.

Rhea, ooooh, new furniture!!! That's always fun! Hope it comes early and doesn't hold up your day. Yes, it's supposed to be nice. A few of of us will be riding around Lake Almanor on Sunday. Should be beee-autiful! Also have to help DH paint trim on the house tomorrow.

Janie, hope that back is better today. I have to watch myself on deadlifts. That one I can't go heavy on or I tweak myself, which I did the other day. I'm okay now, but just need to watch myself on those. Glad you are enjoying the writing again. How's the garden and what did you plant?

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Jeanette

Good morning!

Real quick post here....trying to get at least one of the motions done so I don't have to worry about it anymore.

Yesterday did Turbo Jam Mix #2. Was a little tired during the end, but made it through.

I can't wait for the weather to be consistently nice and for some time to get back to golf. My shoulder is almost there, but I'm really a little scared to go out and start wacking at the ball. That backwards motion is what makes my shoulder swell up. So I'll keep trying to remember to do those shoulder exercises.

Well, gotta run. Have a great day everyone! I might be able to be back later when I'm at home and things have slowed down a bit.

Rhea, Did you ever get your furniture? Todays weather here is glorious! Gardening time!

KK, Looks like you are on a roll writing! Keep up the good work.

Jeanette, My back is fine now and doing gargening! Yeah! Today was cardio and replaced it with garden work chores.

Where I live is a challenge for a veg. garden. I have to use plant heat pads (since there is freezing weather at night) until the 2nd week of June. So, I have 2 green houses. I use both to grow tomatoes, soybeans and winter squash. And I use one to start plants in. I use these tiny containers to start the seeds in and place them on the pads to keep them warm during freezing nights. After the 3rd or 4th leaves come out, I transplant them in bigger containers. During that time the weather is fairly warm during the day and I only need to warm them at night. Ater a while I don't need to warm them at night and start planting them in the garden the 2nd week of June. They can get fairly big during now and June, but hey it works for me.

This is my biggest year ever, since we will not be on a Fall trip. I'm growing onions, squash, tomatoes, lettuce, beans, peas, pumpkins, some herbs, cukes, summer squash, winter squash....you get the idea.

Got to go, have great workouts,

Janie

Good Evening!:)

Well, I sorta got my computer fixed. One of the keys is probably unfixable, but at least all the rest of the keys are on and working. Plus, I ordered a new PC card for the internet as the card I have is not working well.

Okay, so it was 14 pages today and 8 yesterday. Am using the weekends to get a little ahead. If I can keep up this pace, I just might make this deadline.x(

Yesterday I took a day off and today was Bootcamp -- Intensity series -- love that workout.

Jeanette, how was your bike ride at Lak Almason -- did I spell that right? Yes, I've been here much too long -- my DH is very supportive, thank goodness, but he wants me to finish this course as well and I'm beginning to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Hope you're doing well. Interesting what you said about deadlifts.

Rhea, yeah, it's probably a wise idea to stay away from those things that can make that shoulder go out. How are the motions going? Everytime you post about the turbo jams, I miss my series. I am going to have to replace it.

Janie, sounds like you are very far north. I used to live in Vermont, and it was like that in Vermont. You really couldn't do much planting until June...and even then... We really had one month of summer in Vermont -- July. ;-) You're garden sounds great -- do you also plant celery -- probably one of my favorite veggies.

Did I tell you that I'm collecting seeds? Mostly of the organic, heirloom variety.

Okay so now quickly, a look at the coming week. Here's he plan: it's an easy one with shorter workouts per day cause of the stress of needing to write more -- taking up more time:

So, you might have guessed it -- the CTX series. Boy, am I glad I have this series. I wish Cathe would do another CTX or Intensity series -- my favorites.

Okay, so have a really super day, everyone and some great workouts!:7

Good morning!

Well, I've had a wonderfully busy weekend. Redding on Sat, shopped, visited with sis and niece while shopping. It was very hot there (well for me it was; I swear the car told me it was 90 degrees outside in the later afternoon. Then yesterday was work on the bathroom (still last minute stuff) and then I cleaned out the pond. Yuck work, but lots of digging since I fixed my leaf skimmer and lowered it in the ground. My muscles are protesting today. I'll be stretching a lot. It was pretty warm out there too. This morning it was actually still 50 degrees. Very unusual for this time of year. I sure hope it doesn't make all the fruit trees bloom and then freeze off the blossoms!

Well, got to get back to my motions. One done, needs to be printed and then another to finish up.

Talk to you later!

Good Evening!:)

Wow, Rhea, sounds like you really accomplished alot, not only on your motions, but with the bathroom work and the pond -- I can imagine that work on the pond.x( Yeah, I bet stretching will be great! And Redding on Sun -- now, that's further north, right? Hope you get that other motion done.

It was CTX Power Circuit today -- I do really like the CTX series. Am planning on 10-10-10 tomorrow, but I didn't get as much writing donw today as I would have liked, so we'll see. 5 pages today.

Hi Jeanette and Janie!

Well, gotta get to bed early tonight -- see if I can get up early and really get some good work done. Georgie is getting more and more insistent about going outside. I've had several talks with him telling him that when we get home, he can go out to his heart's desire. But here at this motel, he tends to get lost.

Have a super day, everyone and some terrific workouts!:7

Good morning,
Didn't work out yesterday, just resting from the bike ride on Sunday. We did 44 miles. Nice ride around Lake Almanor for part of it. Beautiful day. Today was Christi Taylor Still Steppin, then 4DS Biceps and Triceps. Today is a bike ride after work, thought the weather turned colder. I'm also going to the dr. for this post nasal yuk. Tired of it.

Karen, so glad you enjoy the CTX. Yep, bet Georgie can't wait to get to a place where he can play and be a cat! But ya gotta do what ya gotta do..

Rhea, good for you for starting on the pond! Bet it will look great.

Janie, the veggies will be wonderful later this summer I'm sure. Especially when everyone else is paying big bucks for veggies at the store.

See all of you tomorrow,

Jeanette

Good Evening!:)

Took my day off today -- on some Tuesdays I go to Farmer's markets here locally -- just seems like the right thing to do. So anyway, no workout today -- involved in food.

44 miles. Jeanette, my goodness. Yeah, seems right to take the day off after. Bet it was utterly beautiful.

So tomorrow I restart the CTX series, which I really do love. I'm hoping that Cathe will do another CTX series type of workouts -- I find my hand reaching for them and the intensity series more than any other series.

5 pages today and 5 yesterday. Look forward to the weekends when I don't have to go anywhere and can just stay in my PJ's and write. 100 pages an counting.

Nice to have you back, Jeanette.

Hi Rhea! Hi Janie!

Have a super day tomorrow and terrific workouts.:7

Good morning,
Today was 4DS Kickbox (most of the cardio), then the Legs and Abs. Like this workout. Did a hill climb ride with 4 other riders after work yesterday. Was very cold coming down the hill. Also went to the dr. and she prescribed Clarinex for the post nasal drip stuff.

Karen, enjoy CTX today! Did you buy lots at the Farmer's Market?

Hi to Rhea and Janie,

Jeanette

Hi everyone,

I was sitting with my grandson this weekend, and just now got home. Couldn't exercise until today. My DH and I did MM. Poor thing, he has a hard time hearing women's voices, but when all the complaining is said and done, we high 5. Then he went on the scales, he has lost almost 13-14 pounds since he quit drinking and started exercising with me. He is so proud of himself, and so am I. Even if he does complain a lot about it, I know this is so very good for him. So I ignore it and continue on until we are done.

Tonight I will do a cardio then get ready for a long cardio tomorrow morning before breakfast.

You all seem very busy as usual, and see lots of great workouts.

Yes, I agree, after planting my garden I'll be saving a lot of money, compared to high prices of food at the grocery stores.

Haven't been writing since I've been gone, but today I can kind of catch up again.

We live in Olympia Wash. area, it's not as cold as Vermont area, but still not as warm as the other areas that grow all kinds of vegies.

I can't even think how 44 miles of biking could be. I would think that would be way too much for me.

KK, looks like you are doing very good on your book.

Take care everyone, have more great workouts.

Janie

Good morning!

Well, yesterday was a Cardio Collectible day. Took a while for my poor left hamstring/thigh/rear to warm up though. For some reason that is very tight from the lower body workout I did the day before. Everytime I stand up from sitting for a while, it reminds me that it is there and not totally hnappy with all that work it did. I'm not sure what is in store for today, I'm thinking 4DS Kickbox, but may opt for a straight strength tape like Butts and Gutts. I'll have to see what I'm in the mood for when I get home.

Have a great day everyone, back to the salt mines for me!

Good Evening!:)

It was CTX 10-10-10 today. Love these CTX's. Oh, I really like the 4DS workouts, too. Really like 4DS Kickbox as well. Got in 7 pages today. Gotta keep this up. Have about 95 pages yet to go. But I'm not at that place in the plot yet, where I say, okay, it's time to wrap this baby up. Hopefully soon.

Food prices. Wow. I sometimes wonder how smart it is to grow food for fuel instead of for food. :+ Interesting things going on, that's for certain.

Jeanette, I bought alot at the Farmer's Market. In fact, most of my food nowadays comes from the Farmer's Market. Sounds like you're doing great. Was the nasal drip from the bike ride, do you think?

Janie, gotta tell you how much I love your graphics. MM is one of my favorite workouts, that for certain. Love that you and your DH are exercising together -- and look at those pounds coming off. Wow! Yes, Olympia is pretty far north, but certainly not as cold as Vermont. I remember in Vermont it got so cold (with wind chill it was 64 below) that we literally ran from house to car, etc. Turn on car to warm it up, run back to house. Wait -- run to car. Etc.;)

Rhea, love those Cardio Collectibles -- sorry the left hamstring is giving you a problem. Sometimes my left hamstring gives me trouble, as well. Hope it all works out.

Okay, so hope you all have a super day tomorrow. I'm planning on writing all day, course in the evening and not doing much but that.

Have some terrific workouts!:7

Morning,
Today was 2 combos of Amy Bento's Hi-Lo Dome Challenge, then 4DS Chest and Back. Tonite will be a bike ride.

Karen, glad you are getting the writing in. How do you come up with the story lines? CTX 10-10-10 is great, mixes it up in a short time. The post nasal drip is worse when riding the bike for sure. The meds I believe are helping with less drip.

Rhea, I really like Butts & Guts. Did you get it in? I'm needing a golf lesson for sure. I have a lead on someone that might help me.

Janie, that's awesome weight loss for your DH and what a life change too!!! Congrats to both of you.

Will check in tomorrow, have great workouts today!

Jeanette

Good morning!

Well, yesterday I did the Turbo Jam lower body again since I was so sore on one side from the last time I did it. Needed to get that sore stuff worked out. Then I watched the stuff afterwards on the DVD, the jam'd, the slim in six ads and the beachbody.com ads. It actually motivated me to get up off my rear and do another workout (TJLB was only 30 minutes) so I did Slim in 6's core cardio express. Then when DH got home we had a yummy dinner of shrimp in butter, garlic with some broccoli. Then I was a wno and drank too much wine, ate popcorn, cashews, and dark chocolate while watching American Gangster. Oh well, today is another day. Not sure what the workout will be but am thinking a nice sweaty cardio to get all that yuck out.

Jeanette - I've have heard that Chuck Spirk, who is now retired from the prison, is going to get a pro certification so he can teach. He is an awesome golfer (a 2 handicap) and my DH loves to golf with him. Chuck is working at the golf course part time. I have yet to swing a golf club; my shoulder is better, but it is the direction of the swinging that I'm still stiff and sore at. I'm just going to keep up the stretches (okay, I'd better get better at remembering to do them during the day) so that I can play by May.

Okay, better get to work, I've procratinated enough.

Have a great day!!

Good Evening!:)

It was CTX Interals for me today. That's another really good one. Like I said, my hand reaches for these CTX workouts a lot. I think time is an issue, as well and these just really hit the spot.

Didn't do as well on writing today -- only 3 pages, but believe it or not I was happy with that cause I'd had to go way back in the mss. to fix something (on about pg. 150) and then had to come forward, editing, and then I got stuck in one part that just wasn't quie right -- so I had to fix that. But I'm back up to where I should be and so I'm hoping that tomorrow will be another day.

Jeanette, hope that nasal drip goes away quickly. Amy Bento is one I really do intend to get as soon as I'm getting more workouts. I didn't order Cathe's new series, mostly cause of the cost, but also because when the workouts are long (and these look like they might be for me, cause I include also cardio everyday pretty much) -- I just don't do them. Time is a factor unfortunately.

Story ideas are about the easiest part of writing -- they come from anywhere, daydreaming, research, life and livingness, other people, any and all of life is kinda a subject of research. The real hard part is getting things in your head to make sense on a piece of paper so that someone else not only understands what you're talking about, but can visualize it, as well. That's my take on it, but I think I've heard other writers say similar things, as well.

Rhea, talking about your dinner and then your munchies made my mouth water and after reading your post, I went and had some of the cheesecake that I make. That's another thing I really liked about Charlene's workouts is all that extra stuff. It is motivating, plus I really like learning about the other people in the videos, as well. Hope those motions are going well, or all done.

Hi Janie!

Have a super day -- and since we don't always post on the weekends, let me say now to have a really super weekend.:7

Good morning,
Did Tracey Staehle's Glute Camp with abs this morning. Did a 30 mile bike ride last night. The allergy meds helped a lot and didn't have all the mucous (finally).

Rhea, Randy Rice had recommended Chuck Spirk for lessons. I thought he was still working at the prison, but will check the pro shop and give him a call. I tried calling there, but the phone is not in service so guess

Karen, interesting how you come up with a story. Don't think I could ever do that. I read on the STS forum that the new workouts will be 45-55 minutes each, which I'm pleased about.

Hi Janie,

Hope everyone has a good weekend, looks like it's turning cooler again.

Jeanette

Good morning!

Looks like you are doing well on the book Karen. Even with rewrites, it is getting done! I used to love to write stories, but never finished them. No discipline for sitting at the computer and writing. Too many other things that I like to do....

Jeanette - I know the pro shop is open and they are working on filling it, etc. Tomorrow is the first "play day" for the woman's club with a meeting afterward. I'm not going to play, but if I remember I might go to the meeting. I've got tons planned to do tomorrow, sewing, cleaning, weeding, which one I do depends on the weather.

Yesterday was Cardio Party #3. I hadn't done that one for ages. It was fun. Longer, about 50 minutes, but the time goes pretty fast with Chalene. Then I hopped outside and replanted some of my water lilies. Need to get more aquatic soil for the rest. Hopefully this weekend won't be too cold and I can get that chore finally done.

Today might be a day off. Have a massage today and don't know if I will be able to squeeze in a workout before that. DH will be gone this weekend, so I have plenty of time to workout this weekend.

Have a great day everyone and don't work too hard.

Rhea, I love Christy Taylor also. Was it you that got me started on her? How is your hamstring doing lately? don't worry abut your night of food and wine. It happens to the best of us. If you had a great time then it was worth it. I bet the water lilies look good in the pond.

KK, Doing MM again today and 10.10.10 tonight. Just love these workouts. You are such a natural at what you do. A true artist.

Jeanette, Love Amy Benton too! How are you feeling lately? Hope all is good with your health. I admire you so very much doing those long bike rides. Very impressive.

Good Evening!:)

Love those graphics, Janie! Today was CTX All Step, another fabulous workout. Hope to finish them up this weekend, Kickbox and legs. Todaoy was only 6 pages and then some research tonight.

I look forward to the weekends, cause I can just kick back and work. That's my plan this weekend is work -- am hoping to get in 30 pages written over the weekend. Goodness knows I need to do this.

Jeanette, 30 mile ride sounds incredible to me. Ah, so the new workouts are 45-55 minutes -- still with cardio added, it would probably get into the 75-90 minute range, which is an amount of time I can rarely grab. Am hoping to see what her next plan is, though.

Rhea, hope you get alot done this weekend. Sometimes it's nice to be by yourself and just do what you want to do -- not as a steady diet -- just eometimes. Hope you get a lot of sewing done.

Janie, are you doing two workouts, then, in a day -- I used to do that but stopped when I starte having this green drink that seems to help me keep my weight in check -- those workouts at night, though really helped me to sleep.

Have a super weekend, everyone!:7

KK, I really have fun with my Meez. Yes, I am doing 2 workouts a day. I have to be careful though and make sure I have at least 6 hours in-between workouts. And then only for a half hour or so. I'm gaining weight for some reason. I'm careful with calories. It could be the estrogen I'm taking once a week. Anyway I've gained and the only way to get rid of it is cardio for me. Glad to here your writing is doing well. What kind of research? What green stuff are you taking?

Wish me luck!
