KK's April Check-In

Good Evening!:)

Didn't get my workout in until late today -- just busy -- I did get in 10 pages -- so I think I'll target myself for 15 tomorrow. I have about 100 pages more to write.

Jeanette -- your workouts sounds fun -- we are having TV problems -- the picture won't come in -- so I may be opting to workout again on my computer.:+ Hope that climb today is fun. How's the new job, by the way? I know your boss --didn't you have a going away party for him? Anyway, hope that work it going well, too.

Rhea -- gee, I wish that "paint" bug would bite me. There's so much painting that needs to be done at my house. Your workouts sound tough to me -- so I'm impressed. And I hope that work is going well with you too. How's the weight, by the way?

It was Push/Pull for me today and my energy level was down -- I really have to go to bed earlier -- I feel better when I do. And to that end, I'd probably better end this.

Good morning,

Today's workout was Jari Love's GR 1000. Was a good one, though I should have added on some abs as she goes very light on abwork and triceps too. The short cardio element is good in these. I'm home this morning waiting for the furniture to be delivered. Should be here this morning sometime.

My bike time trial went very well last night, a non-windy evening and there were 5 of us ladies out there with the guys! I also beat my personal best by 50 seconds from last year so was very, very happy about that.

Rhea, sorry you pooped out for your workout. The only way I get mine in is to do it in the morning. You've been working pretty hard lately. What will you be painting?

Karen, sorry about your TV problems. Is it the cable or the TV itself? The time trial was great last night (see above). The job is going very well. Love it! My boss left our area, but I still work for him part time.

It was a short cardio -- I think it's from Step Works -- and stretch #1 for me today. Didn't make my target on pages -- only 6 today -- low for me, and I was working pretty steadily on getting those, too. Not sure why it's going so slowly, I'll have to backtrack and see.

Jari Love sounds really great, really great! Did I tell you I was looking at her stuff on Collage? They now have videos that you can play of the workouts. What technology we have nowadays, huh? Wasn't it only a few years ago, that we were mostly all on VHS?

Well Done on your Time Trial -- and 50 seconds better than last year -- and wasn't last years better than the year before? Good going, Jeanette!

Am happy that you are enjoying your work and your boss -- sometimes when there are switches -- well, one never knows...so am glad it's working out -- knock on wood (doing it here).

Rhea -- yes, what are you painting? Gee, I wish I got these kinds of urges...

It's Supersets for me tomorrow. Am feeling better and better -- today for the first time in weeks, my stomach wasn't unsettled -- and the blackness under the skin where the bite was is going away, too. It's still a little puffy, but it's better. (knock on wood again)

Okay -- target pages wise tomorrow is 15. I can do it, I can do it, I can do it... Whew!

Hi,
Today was Eoin Finn's Power Yoga For Happiness - the Magically Hips premix. This one always feels so good to my hips, opening the joints up. May do an easy spin on the bike after work if it's not too cold. I opened the back door up to let the dogs out this morning and we had a dusting of snow on the deck.

My new furniture was delivered yesterday. Looks nice and the couch and loveseat are very comfy. DH liked it too.

Karen, enjoy your Supersets workout today. So glad you are feeling better. Can't be fun to have an icky stomach like that. I remember when I was pregnant, my stomach was so unsettled for the longest time. Hope you get those pages written today.

Good Evening!:)

It was Supersets for me today, a workout that I really love -- something about that ball helps my form and I find I can go heavier on a lot of different things without injury -- and the biceps -- wow! Tomorrow is supposed to be IMAX1 1/2 of the workout -- we'll see though, I might substitute IMAX3 -- the last 1/2 -- I like the music from that. Also like the music from Supersets -- sometimes I think the music really helps.

Jeanette -- that yoga sounds terrific -- did you go for a spin. It was very windy here today and now it's cool, which I kinda like. New furniture -- what fun. What color is it -- and does it make the living room open up more? Love new things like that -- but I think our next important house things must be painting the inside and out.

Yes, am feeling better and better. Those black widow bites seem to be a little worse than the brown recluse -- I've had several of the brown recluse bites, and while not fun, I think the black widow is worse.

Oh, got some new workout clothes today. I couldn't resist. I often feel like I shouldn't do that, when I'm planning to buy a series yet this week, but I did. Also, I'm going to need some new sneakers soon. The ones that I love right now are Ryka's -- which I found at Zappo's online -- they are hard to find here in LA for some reason.

Well, here I am going on and on. Managed to get 9 pages today, but did some brainstorming on the ending of the book with my BIL today and so I feel I'm going in the right direction again and today's writing was a little easier. 2 1/2 weeks left -- 90 pages to go, or thereabouts. Whew!

Oh, and my daughter from New York flies in tomorrow for the weekend. Yea! She's flying in for a wedding down in Redondo Beach area, so I won't see her much, but what time we do have will be wonderful!

Today was Butts & Guts premix 59 1/2 minutes - floorwork and abs. Loved this premix. I've always enjoyed floorwork so this was just what I needed. Didn't do my bike ride when I got home from work yesterday as it had been a bit chilly and I was tired. Took a little nap instead and watched Space Cowboys with DH when he got home. Boy, I needed a rest and feel much better today.

Karen, glad you enjoyed Supersets. I'll be starting a new rotation next week, probably one of Fitnessfreaks as they are good ones for me. Ohh, so nice that you get to see your daughter this weekend! Bet it will be a fun one for you! The furniture is brown leather, a couch and loveseat and 2 lamps. I'll be shopping for some accent items like pillows and throws for them to break up the "brownness". They are really comfortable and have reclining foot rests in both pieces. Nice that you picked up some new workout clothes. I got a new catalog from Champion and it has some nice things in it. Did you order CTX yet? Knew that you had planned to. Hope you get lots written today.

Sunday evening -- time to look at the week ahead. I just love Fitnes Freak -- she helped me write a rotation for my daughter -- she just seems to know so much about exercise. I agree, she really has some good programs out there.

My work has suffered these past few days -- Trina came in on Friday and although I thought I'd get some work done -- cause she planned to be with friends, she stayed here most of the day and so of course we had to spend some time with each other. Unfortunately, she came here sick and so she's been sleeping a bit. But the wedding was yesterday and so she's here now -- sleeping. I think she just really needs the rest -- and it does give me the chance to really be the mom. It's been great -- she'll be here tomorrow and then leave on Tuesday.

Oh, and she is actually doing the rotation that I made up for her at Christmas. Yea.

Brown leather -- it sounds simply scrumptous. And what fun to go and look for accents for the new furniture.

Hope you'll keep us posted on your new rotation.

Page counts are down and on Friday, I looked at what I wrote and thought it was pretty bad -- so am not looking forward to correcting all those pages tomorrow -- but it has to be done. Just a little over 2 weeks left.

Anyway, here's the rotation. Was extraordinarily tired again on Friday, so I'm still going to go easy on myself until I'm over this completely. Oh, Friday was IMAX3 -- last 5 intervals -- like interval 9 and 10 the most -- and Saturday was a 41 or 42 minute premix of KPC.

Mon: IMAX2 interval 1-5
Tues: ME -- timesaver premix
Wed: cardio and stretch
Thurs: Supersets
Fri: IMAX1 interval 1-5
Sat: HSC -- premix about 51 minutes.
Sun: Off

Target for tomorrow is 10 pages -- not the 15 I should target, but since Trina leaves on Tues., I may not even get that in tomorrow.

Good morning!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I did, got a couple things done and a bike ride in, though a cold one. Have another hill climb after work as we didn't get the amount of climbing in that we were shooting for yesterday. It was just too cold up at the top of the summit. Also did some shopping with my mom for new pillows for the new couch and loveseat. Bought some at Walmart that look nice.

I started Fitnessfreak's "Get Ready for Summer Rotation". Today was Push/Pull upper body premix 3X and abs from Cardio & Weights. I did the PP premix for 2X as I don't want to spend that much time and then found out that my Imax2/Cardio & Weights DVD has a crack in it near the center so it wouldn't play for the abs. Got to see what the replacement policy is, otherwise I will be ordering another one soon.

Karen, glad you got to visit with your DD, even if she was sick. Know you were a good mama and kept her comfortable. Hope you have lots of energy today and get some pages written.

Spent a good deal of the day with my daughter and then did some other things that needed to be done -- so didn't get any pages done today at all. It's going to be a tough week this week as I have time to make up now.

But that's okay. I don't get to see my daughter that often.

Jeanette, so glad you got some pillows for the couch. Always fun to go shopping, and particularly with your mom, who probably loves shopping as much as you do, huh?

Wow, that's quite a workout, isn't it -- upper body work from Push/Pull three times and then abs -- sorry to hear about your IMAX2/Cario & Weights DVD. Did you find out what the replacement policy is? Hopefully you won't have to buy a new one. Wow, what a workout though, huh?

Well, my daughter leaves tomorrow early, so I'll be up early, and hopefully will get an early start on the day. Didn't get a workout in today, as again, I figured it was better to be with my daughter. Hopefully will be back on track tomorrow.

Good morning Karen and Rhea:

Got in a hill climb bike ride with a friend after work yesterday, so made up for the shorter ride on Sunday. Much nicer conditions too. I was soooo cold on Sunday, not even funny coming down the hill. One of the most unpleasant experiences I've had in quite a while. Just need to pack more clothes on me for the downhills.

Today's workout was Combos 2, 3 and the challenge from Step Blast (45 minute premix). It was really fun and just the right length. I wrote to customer support on this website and they are replacing my defective Imax2 DVD (has a crack in the center so won't play). I'll mail it off today. Today is a happy day because we are paying off our house AND our home equity loan WOOHOO AND our credit card!!! We should have a party or something to celebrate. Will be nice not to have those bills every month. Not sure how much longer DH's job will last out there so at least I won't worry about the bills.

Karen, glad you got some good time in with your daughter. What workout will you have today? Hope you get some good pages written. Did you ever get the Tai-chi lessons?

Rhea, have you been working in your yard? Yesterday was so pretty outside, but guess we're going to get some more weather.

Gosh! Jeanette, well done on paying off your house, and your 2nd and your credit cards. Oh my gosh. I'm so jealous. We are steadily working on our cards -- but it's a tough row to hoe, but we now have them down to four. But we owe much on our house and our 2nd and with the housing market dropping off...

But yes, you should definitely have a party. Once our cards are paid off, then we intend to put all that money on the mortgage and 2nd and hopefully get those paid off as well. It's tough, isn't it?

It's one reason I haven't yet got the CTX. We just paid off 2 cards completely, and I'm a little shy of charging up anything right now.

That sounds like a great premix you did -- it's just the right length for me, as well, right now.

You know, my daughter was sick when she came here -- well, I'm sick today, so again no workout. I don't like the sound of this -- 3 days without a workout now.

But today it might have been okay, because I really needed to work on the book, and I was procrastinating going back in there to make revisions. But now they are done -- only 7 pages today, but when I revise I never expect high page counts. However, I only have 2 weeks left now before deadline, so pedal to the metal.

That's really no fun being so cold and having to just continue on. I used to live in Vermont, and I remember being always cold and sometimes outrageously so.

Well, again, I can't say Well Done enough on your cards and house payments and such. A very, very well done! Not easy to do -- I know -- we are in the process right now.

I plan on IMAX2 tomorrow -- shortened version -- I really like the sound of your workouts -- I want to try to premix that you did today. Was it a combination of cardio and weights?

Okay, I'm going on and on again.

Morning,

Woke up late this morning as I was up late last night watching The Prestige (Netflix) but wanted to see the ending. Today's workout was GS Legs (floorwork) and then added on the planks and abs from Slow & Heavy. Good workout.

We got snow yesterday and there is about an inch on the ground right now. We definitely need the moisture.

Karen, the workout I did yesterday was all step cardio - Step Blast combos 2, 3 and the challenge at the end. It was really fun. Do you have Step Blast? I enjoy SB and SJP. Think this rotation will be fun using Cathe's again. I'm enjoying hearing the music.

Yes, it feels good to have the house and the loan on the shop and our one credit card down to "0", even the new furniture is paid off. DH's job isn't so secure so it will be nice not to worry about those payments.

Have a good Imax2 today. I sent my Imax2 DVD back yesterday to Cathe.com. They said they will replace it, so nice.

Hello!

I'm back finally. I was on "vacation" at home last week and at a seminar the first two days of this week. My internet at home was down until Sat when I finally got around to fixing it. (modem went out)

I painted the kitchen and the living room during my "vacation." Great way to spring clean. But very tiring and no workouts for me as the painting was enough. I was going to workout while I was at the seminar, but there wasn't enough room in the hotel. I would have been kicking something over or breaking something. So I just vegged. I'm very anxious to get back to working out today. I'll just do a little shorter workout to get myself back into the swing of things. I might try to move the workouts to a morning time.

Anyhoo....back to catching up at work.

Finally got back into working out today -- my energy was back and so I did 8 intervals from IMAX2 instead of the 5 I had planned. The body was ready to go -- like it was saying, "Why no workouts?" So I was even jumping around (I often opt for low impact). Was good.

Then wrote 10 pages. I'm in the midst of one scene at the moment -- but my computer decided to stop on me -- so I'm rebooting it right now. The way I figure it, I have about 2 more major scenes, besides this major one right now (there will be little ones in these two major scenes). Hopefully I'll get it done early next week so that I'll have time to do edits without too much stress.

I figure I have about 50-60 more pages to write, but I'm not sweating the pages right now. Now I'm at the point of just get to the end of the book -- tell the story.

Rhea -- it's so good to hear from you. Painting your kitchen and living room -- wow! I am so in awe of you and Jeanette and these projects that you do. Once I finish this deadline, I'll be heavily into scheduling the next tour -- in June and then...

Doesn't sound too much like a vacation, though, does it? Glad you got it done, though.

Jeanette -- yes, I have Step Blast and SJP -- I love them both. I'm going to have to try that premix. Sounds like a real winner -- and the time is right, again. GS legs sounds like a good option.

I understand how it must feel to get these things paid off. Again, like I said, we are in the midst. I just hope the economy holds up for a while, giving us the chance to get them all paid off.

Well, I do tend to go on and on and so I'll just say that I hope you both have some terrific workouts and a really super day.:7

Today was Rhythmic Step, the whole thing actually. Fun workout, DH says it sounds like circus music. I have a bike club meeting after work. If I have time and the weather is decent, may try to ride the bike (easy).

Rhea, glad you got the painting done. I remember you talking about it. Feels good to have that done, huh?

Karen, sounds like you are back to feeling good energy wise! That's great. I sent back Imax2 and they will replace it as it had a crack in the center and wouldn't play.

Good morning!

Got myself back into the mode of working out with Kickin Core yesterday. Not sure what today will be, but it will probably be a noon time workout, so it should be shorter. However, with my attitude at work right now, I don't care if I take a two hour lunch to get that workout done! I'm thinking that LIC or Boot Camp would be a great one to do today. I'm detoxing a bit from my very bad carb eating over the last few days. Being on the road and in the airport just doesn't give you very many choices, either fat or carbs.

Just finished writing for the day -- finished the one scene I was working on and am now down to the last -- it should probably be a combination of about 2 or 3 scenes, but am glad to be getting down to the end. My word count isn't where I'd like it to be -- but that's pretty easy to remedy once the book is written. Am looking forward to the work tomorrow.

It was Push/Pull for me today -- it was supposed to be an ME premix, but again, I didn't feel up to it today, so I opted for Push/Pull -- always a workout that I love. And it was short, which I needed today.

Oh, Jeanette, you just reminded me of Rhythmic Step -- I haven't done that one in a while. Hope you get that bike ride in today. I did one after work yesterday -- was good to get out and do it.

Rhea, am so glad to hear that you're back in the swing -- yeah, airports and such don't have much selection. Detox is probably good. Hmmm...work attitude, huh? You? You're about one of the sweetest people that I know.

And you reminded me of Bootcamp, one of my favorite workouts, as well. I'm going to have to broaden my workouts here.

You might not believe that I still have a bump on my hand where that bite was, but at least it's only a bump and isn't black any more. Who would think?

Bike ride didn't happen yesterday, but will try again tonite. It will probably be just an easy spin as Sunday, if the weather permits, will be a harder hill climb ride (again). Had a bike club meeting last night so didn't get home until around 8 p.m.

Today was Muscle Max Upper Body premix and then added on Tracey Staehle's Core Conditioning. Good ab workout. I like this DVD. I notice how tucking your hip helps with the ab work. Discovered this with Ab Jam. Really gets those lower abs better.

Karen, glad the writing is going well. I did Push/Pull earlier this week and liked how it moved along. Glad you got a bike ride in.

Rhea, what do you do to detox?

Good morning!

Jeanette - you made me laugh!! All I did to detox was to quite eating the yucky stuff like white flour and sugar. Hopefully you will get some riding in this weekend, but the weather doesn't look too hopefull. (even though right now there is not a cloud in the sky, it is still supposed to rain/snow this weekend)

Karen - you are so sweet....I can get very cranky, just don't show it to everyone except poor dh. Both of us are tired all all the whiny people we deal with at our offices. DH will at least get about two months away from all the crude (school teachers have it made in the summer)

Well, I did LIC yesterday. It was a good workout to choose, just the right amount of cardio. My shoulder is bothering me a bit again this morning. I really have to get that knot worked out or at least figure out what makes the shoulder flare up.

Just a short post before going to bed. It was cardio from BodyMax2 today and then a stretch on the ball. Really like exercising with the ball. Didn't get much writing done today, even though I'm so close to deadline -- lots of distraction. I did work, just didn't get much done. Means I'll be working all weekend long.

Jeanette -- have a good bike ride on Sunday -- sounds like a tough one. I bet it does make a difference on your abs -- by tuck, you mean sort of like when you do hip lifts? I bet it does get in there.

Rhea -- I don't know, I bet your cranky is pretty sweet... Yes, teachers do have it good in the summer, don't they? I love LIC -- love the song in the stretch. It's too bad you don't live closer -- my chiro is a man whose mother (she was Mexican) was a healer from the time she was a child -- and she taught him a system of muscle massage that really, really gets in there and...well, it just works. My knee that I always was wearing a bandage on whenever I worked out -- I finally mentioned to him once that it bothered me now and again, and he did that special kind of massage that his mother taught him, and I haven't had trouble with it or had to wear the bandage since. Interesting stuff...

Well, I'm off to bed -- have a full day planned tomorrow as we're going to go see Ron Paul speak and then I have to get home and work.
