Good Morning

today was resolution II. I really like this resolution. I am thinking after this week to cut out resolution III and just doing I and II- repeating I or II so I do resolution 3X a week, on alternate SIM weeks.

todays workout:

Resolution II
Goal: complete 8 rounds in 30 minutes

30 seconds rest between rounds (one 45 seconds rest)
total workout: 21:51 minutes

warm up: tgu 5l/5r: 25# (may have been 6- lost count so I did an extra one)
c&p:
30#
pullups:
as prescribed
deadlifts:

(starting with 70% of 1 rm; adding 5# each round thru round 5 as per the workout)
5@ 115#
4@ 120#
3@125#
2@ 130#
1@ 135#
1@ 135#
2@135#
(not sure if typo or not, but did 2 anyway)

1@135#

moved 8539# today in 21ish minutes!

NOTES:
**beginner level: 8 rounds
** messed up in round 3- lost count of what # ladder I was on, said 3 in my head, but didn't remember doing 1 and 2, so I did all 3 ladders again. i think this killed my time!!
**don't know where my head was today. mad about round 3 - was doing great with the 30 seconds rest- round 3 killed my time (mad!) last time i did 7 rounds in 20 min. and today ended round 7 at 10:52 and last time I took some 1 min. rests
**lost count with the tgu in the warm up and round 3 - head not totally there today!!

ironically, I still got a good workout and am sorta happy about todays workout. Still ended with 8:08 left. eventually I have to do 10 rounds in 30 min. so i feel I can accomplish that.

waves to everyone!!
bbl for personals, busy day!
Have a good one!

Deanie, sorry about losing count - I hate that!!! I actually do that so much that I have to write down on a sheet of paper the rounds and mark off each round after I complete it so I will know where I am at. It sounds like you still got a great workout, though. :)

I ran a 5k yesterday, and was going to do yoga this morning but DS was up when I got home from dropping DD off at school this morning. I will find some other time to workout, but if I get the chance to work out today I think I will do Diva instead because I just can't do yoga with the boys up. Something about noise and the sounds of boys shooting each other just doesn't have a calming effect, ya know what I mean? :p

Will be back later, also have a busy day!

Good Afternoon!

Good Morning!

I did Mix It Up today:

1:00:20
Time in zone: 35:35
Avg HR: 121
Max HR: 160
Cals. Burned: 323

I used 10s up until the mid-section series. Didn't use any weights this time for mid-section series. For standing flies, C-sweep, supine French press and kickbacks, I used 8s. For chest press and rotating chest press, I used 10s and for pullovers and tricep presses, I used 8s. Substituted forearm plank for double crunches. Used 5# ankle weights for bent leg lifts.

I also did 2 pullups and 2 chinups.

So far I keep improving with this workout.

Deanie - I used to lose count too with ETK. I'm always writing everything down. Great job on the deadlifts! Maybe you should consider being a mover as a second job!

Melissa - I definitely couldn't do yoga with all the noise. Definitely ruins the calming effect. My DH likes to watch the military channel and half the time I wind up waking up in the middle of the night to bombs going off. I hope you get to workout later.

Waves to all! BBL.

Hi Everyone!

I didn't get to workout yesterday. I had to run over to my parent's house and it was too late to do anything when I got home.

I'm going to try swimming tonight although there is a 50% chance of rain so if it rains I'll do something else.

Deanie ~ I always mess up my counting. I always have a pen and piece of paper handy to keep track. When we swim, my sister and I use pine straw to count the rounds.

Waves to the rest of the crew!

Have a great day!

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

I mentioned this book the other day and didn't get to elaborate on it after some of you had asked about it. All I can say is I LOVE IT! It is my favorite stand-alone book, I think. It takes place in the German occupied Guerney Island almost immediately post WWII. It is an epistolary book, and the letters are between an author, her editor and occupants of the Literary Society. It is historically accurate and very moving. It is touching and witty - I would be crying one minute and then laughing out loud only seconds later. You really do fall in love with the characters, and the author did such an incredible job of putting each character's own personality into each of the letters. I cannot recommend it highly enough! I do have to warn you, it is about WWII and so there is tragedy, but it is a beautiful story if anyone is interested. I read a ton off books and out of the two I read a week, there are only a few that I recommend and this is one of them. :) (not that my opinion would matter so very much, but this is a fabulous book and I will read it again and again!)

I will be back later.
