KK - June Check-in

No "planned" workouts for me lately. Didn't even get a workout squeezed in before ladie's golf last night, golfed nine holes with DH though. Then this morning was up realllllllly early and went to the woods and cut wood. Thought that lifting 50-100 lb tree logs was a pretty good weight workout for me today. Darn some of those suckers were heavy! I'll be repeating that workout tomorrow morning. The only thing I don't like about it is when the tree is actually "felled." Scary to help, then watch it fall, well, while you are running to make sure you don't get hit by any flying branches. Them are big trees!

Hope your book is done KK!

Janie - are you playing Sims3?

Talk to you later!

Good Evening!

Good grief, Rhea. 50-100 logs. Wow! I'm not sure I would have even been able to lift them. So well done! I love how you said that, that you'll be repeating the "workout" tomorrow. :) I've never felled a tree or been around when it was being done, so I can only imagine how scary that would be -- you sure wouldn't want to be in the way.

For me today it was Total Body Sculpting and then work all day. I let my editor know today that the book would be a few days overdue and luckily she said okay. Have to get it in by Monday, though -- so I'll be working hard all through the July 4th weekend.

Hi Janie!

Have a super day!:D

Good Mornin,

Rhea, Yes, I was playing Sims . You caught me.

WOW! you are strong with those logs, also an inspiration. Do be careful with them today. WOW:eek:

KK, Sounds like you are doing OK on the book. Tell us when you are done.

Well, I'm not feeling very well, and I haven't been for awhile. My stomach started off last month with a dull pain, and now I have this burning sensation that won't stop. I have a call in the docs and hope they can see me this weekend. It slowly got to this point, waking me up at night. But now even with an antacid it still hurts.

Talk later, I'm going to see if I can get some sleep.

Janie

Good Evening!

Today was cardio & legs from CTX Power Circuits -- about 35 minute workout.

Janie, I'm so sorry to hear about your stomach. I know how these things can be -- I tend toward stomach problems, myself. Please let me know if you're going to be able to see someone about it. And let us know how you're doing.

The book is getting there. I have probably 30-40 pages left. I just got to the final steps of getting to the end -- there's always a point where you swing into the ending chapters. And I just got to that point today. I have to have this book in on Monday, so I'll be working this whole weekend -- but hopefully I won't have to put in all nighters now. I hope -- knock on wood. It's now a matter of getting to the end of the book -- and then I'm going to write those reviews for you. I LOVE this soap, Janie.

Hi Rhea! Hope you did well today. Gotta run and get to bed quickly and hopefully get enough sleep tonight -- I was up very late last night, too.

Have a super day tomorrow -- do you both have the day off?

Like I said I'll be working all weekend long -- I'm kinda glad for the weekend because on holidays, no one keeps trying to call me -- in other words, I can concentrate.

Have a super evening!:D

KK, I did go to the doctor yesterday and found out I have GERD, (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease) and I'm taking meds for it that seem to be working. So far was able to sleep well last night, and no hurting so far today. Wow, meds are doing great. It happens to older people and there is nothing I did to cause it, and also will be on meds for the rest of my life.

Awah, so glad you are nearing the end of the book. Take your time on the review, It's OK, you are not on a deadline.LOL

Hi Rhea girl, how ya doing?

Janie

Good Evening!

Oh, Janie, I'm so glad that you found out what it was that was causing you problems, and I'm glad you're doing better. Yea!:) You'll be on the meds for life? They don't fix the problem? Janie, I had this problem once -- many, many years ago -- I gues like about 10 years ago -- and a chiro told me to do this one simple thing and I did it, and it fixed it and it's never come back. It truly was simple and cost me about $15.00.

Anyway, this thread was way, way far back -- so I'm glad I came on line to see how you're doing. I was wondering.

I've not had much sleep as I near the end of the book. I figure I've written this book -- all 400 pages in 1 1/2 months -- it is a lot of work. Anyway, today -- this afternoon, I finally typed the words THE END. Yea! It's not done -- I'm halfway through the book on revisions and edits and then, once that's done, it's off to my editor. I hope to have it in the mail tomorrow and then I'm gong to get some much needed sleep.:)

And then I jump into the next hill 10. Goodness!

One of the first things I want to do (as soon as I catch up on sleep) is get these reviews to you, Janie. You really do have a wonderful product and I hope your book comes out soon and does really well for you.

Today was my day off. Tomorrow I plan Intensity series Bootcamp -- I did half of that one on Sat and I'll probably do the last half tomorrow as I print up the book and get it ready for my publisher.

Hi Rhea! How was your 4th? And Janie, how was yours?

Have a super evening everyone!:D

KK, You left me in the dark. What was the one simple thing that a chiro told you to do for $15.00 to fix my problem? Please do tell.

You are so close to being completely done with your book. Glad to finely hear that. Don't worry or rush about the soap review, it can wait. I have to finish my Joey's painting first, visit my family East of the mountains, then I'll get into my book again. It will be about a month before I really need it. Do it when it is convenient for you.

Good job on the Bootcamp.

Hi Rhea, how ya doing?

Janie

Hi all!

Been out at the lake for the 4th, ate way too much and aggrevated my reflux. Oh well, back to better things today, well, sort of, contending with that good ole heartburn right now. Feels almost like a muscle spasm over my left chest. pfft. hey, I want to know about the 15.00 solution too!

Started back up the workouts today....did CLX Bun #1 and YBB Bollywood style. I should sleep well tonight.

Well, I think I'm off to sewing. Have a great rest of the evening.

Good Evening!

It was from an online site that myBIL found all those years ago -- the chiro claimed full money back guarantee if it didn't work. For $15 we figure we had nothing to lose.

I can't find the site right now cause I never saw it -- my BIL found it -- you sent away for this thing and it came with instructions and you just did it everyday until it went away. It did go away and it's never come back.

I'll tell you what it is, but you won't believe it works -- I was amazed, too. So what you got for your money was a board about 3/4 - 1" thick. And instructions. If I remember correctly, you went up on your tiptoes on the board and then let your heels drop to the floor as hard as you can and as fast as you can. I forget now how many times you were supposed to do it at one sitting -- you were supposed to do it a certain amount of times at one go and then -- I can't remember exactly -- like I said it came with instructions. Anyway, it truly did go away and it's never come back. Simple and cheap -- but it worked.

I finished the book today -- am very tired -- I've been putting in full days on this and only getting about 3-4 hours sleep a night for the past week. This morning I was up at 5 and didn't get the thing done until 5PM and then got it all packaged up and sent off.

Deep breath. DIdn't exercise as I just haven't had enough sleep.

Wish I could find that site.

Anyway, have a great day! :D

I found this on the internet and it sounds very much what you described, KK?

1. To resolve mechanically:-- In the morning, when your stomach is empty, drink a warm glass of water (to relax the diaphragm muscles). Then put your hands on the top of your chest and lift your elbows until they are parallel to your shoulders. This raises the diaphragm up in your chest and opens the hiatus up. Now raise yourself on tiptoes and drop on your heels letting gravity take you down hard. Do this 10 times or so. Keep your elbows up. This should allow the protruding portion of your stomach to drop back through the diaphragm. You will feel the difference. Finally, lean forward at the waist, drop your arms and breath 10 times very fast. This should close the diaphragm muscle. Voila!! Surprising how easily and quickly this works. It is important to do this on an empty stomach so nothing is pushing up.
2. To heal your esophageal tissues:--nothing works like honey. People have used honey to heal skin and disinfect cuts for a long time. If you have no issues with diabetes, I have found the best is a combination of a tablespoon of regular honey and one of the thicker honey with beeswax. A little bit too sweet, I agree. Just savor in your mouth for a while and slowly swallow. It soothes as it goes down and heals the tissues. Repeat once or twice a day. A couple or three days should be sufficient.
Since I have used both these methods and DGL or even black licorice, I have completely stopped using antacids and don't have the constant heartburn. Moreover, now that I understand it is mostly mechanical, I just savor my food more and allow myself the luxury to digest and thus get to the full feeling without overeating, avoiding the push on the diaphragm.
I hope this helps.
BTW, I also went the route of antibiotics for h-pilori. The treatment was worse than the disease. Constant feeling or urpiness and wanting to throw up. Again, here honey does a wonderful job of controlling bacteria. You will need a couple of tablespoons or more to help with that a couple of times a day for a few days.

Here is a link on why the above exercise will/may work:

KK, Is this what you had discovered from chiro? If so, I'm going to try it. Just let us know. Joey made me a 2" high board as long as my shoulders to do calf exercises. Will this board help with the above exercises?

When I tried to look up chiro on the internet the only thing it listed was chiropractors. It was hard to find what you were talking about, but I finely searched under "gastro reflux, board" and there was a lot to shuffle through. But, the very last entry on one of the sites, was what I copied and posted above.

Rhea, I hear ya about the reflux stuff. As you know, I have that problem too. Been on the internet trying to figure it all out. Now I'm Leary about the drug my doctor prescribed to me. I think I'm going to try some things out on my own first, then as a last resort, will take Omerprazole. I hear Mark Hyman, M.D. has good advice and will do some simple natural adjustments in life and see what happens. I'm such a stickler when it comes to drugs. The less I need them the better off I am. I'm also going to try what I copied and paste here, it sounds bizarre, but hey, I'll try it see what happen. Who knows? It worked for KK, it may work for me too. The only thing I'm not wanting to do yet is give up coffee. Oh, how I love my morning cup of joe.;)

Great workout, you indeed should sleep well tonight. Sweet dreams.

KK, I hope I found the instructions on how to get rid of GERD. Let me know if that's the instructions or not. What is chiro?

Congratulations for a job well done. You are done! Yea! I'm so proud of you. So glad it's over for you. Now, take a deep breath, breath and relax.

Take care everyone and will talk again later,

Janie

Good Evening!

Hi!

Janie, that does sound like what I did. Yes, I remember it had instructions -- and the empty stomach and elbows up, and the maiin thing is to come down as hard as you can. Chiro is short for Chiropractor -- and at the time he sold it for $15.00 with a money back guarantee -- and it really did work and like they said in what you copied, it worked quickly. I think I did this procedure for about 2 days and after that it went away and truly has never returned. The board -- I'm going to go meaure it -- I still have it -- it's only 3/4 inch thick -- 2 inches might be too high -- I don't know.

The only thing I would add on the honey is to make sure that if you eat honey, you eat it raw. Cooked or pasturized honey is a bit toxic for the body -- so try to find some raw honey -- raw honey is one of nature's most perfect foods and I think it's bee pollen that truly is supposed to be a perfect food -- providing of course that it's raw with all its enzymes intact.

Today was tough -- I seem to be going from one fire to another right now -- but at least I'm putting them out as best I can. So I didn't exercise until tonight -- and then it was cardio only from HSTA.

Hi Rhea! Hope you're doing great!

Thanks for all your encouragement, Janie and Rhea -- I can't tell you how important that is. I wasn't sure I could do it -- I've never written a book this long in that short a period of time -- so it was tough -- but now it's with the publisher.

Have a super evening!:D

KK, I will do these GERD exercises in hopes it helps. I always use organic when it comes to honey and I have plenty of bee pollen that I take almost everyday, also organic. Get it at the Co-op store.

Hi Rhea, busy I suspect. Have a great day.

Plan on using the stair climber today for my cardio.

Talk later, I had a very bad night with not breathing. I was trying to go to sleep and couldn't get my breath for a few moments. Went into my Joey's room and told him I couldn't breath. He told me to calm down and try to relax. It finely subsided. Thought I was going to die for pete sake. I don't know what caused it. Was scared to go back to sleep. So I slept in our family room upright in the love seat. Did get 7 hours. Went to sleep around 4am and got up about 11am. Jeesh! Is this what's getting old, do to you?

Janie

Good Evening!

Hi Janie & Rhea!

Janie, on the breathing thing -- don't know if you see chiropractors or not -- but if I were you, I'd go see one. Sometimes I feel that way if I have a rib out that's pushing against my lungs -- sometimes I get that way if I have an allergy. I used to have that happen to me where I couldn't breathe due to allergies. I have found that a vitamin C tab put directly under the tongue has calmed my allergies down.

Please let me know -- I'm going to email you personally, darlin', as now I'm worried about you. And you're not old. It is a frame of mind, I think.

Hi Rhea! Hope all is well with you.

Janie, I'm also going to get you those reviews now that I'm off this deadline.

Have a super day tomorrow.

Oh, today was CTX Power Circuit -- I'm gonna do the CTX series to get back into longer workouts. :D

KK, You are so sweet to get me the reviews already. It was perfect and I have them where I can easily access them for when I put them in my book. Thank you so much!

Can chiropractors help with breathing? Wouldn't my family doctor be better? Hope they figure it all out for me. Will make an appt. tomorrow and they will tell me what day to come in yet again. Getting tired of seeing doctors lately. But, they do work.

Your right, I'm not old yet, just not myself lately.

Take Rhea, and see you soon.

Today will be packing a day, to go to a wedding and visit my siblings. Should be gone for 7-8 days. Don't know if I will have access to a computer or not. If you don't hear from me that will be why.

I'm going to miss you guys.

I'll be here today and will check on the thread later this evening. Take care and have a great week with all your exercises.

Have fun at the wedding Janie. I have one to go to this weekend.

Okay, today I did YBB's toning workout, one of their first. Wow, it will be good for the booty and balance. I'll do it as one for a change in pace. Liked the yoga part, sculpting was more endurance, sort of, not much to gain there for me. Ballet part was interesting. Tomorrow I think I will either do the Fat Burning one or do Jillian Michaels since I'll be needing a cardio.

Well, better get going. Have a great rest of the day.

Good Evening!

Let's see -- today was Supersets and then an anaerobics bit tonight before I go to bed. The weight is so hard to keep in check. Goodness!

We were going to have a garage sale this weekend, but I think it'll be next weekend as I just have so much to do that isn't being done.

Janie, the chiro has always worked for me. But then I don't believe in taking drugs and so that let's me out of the medical profession to a certain extent, because that's their bag of tricks. They're also good for setting bones and emergency procedures, but not sure I believe in surgery as a solution to health either. Again emergency procedures, they can't be beat, but if you don't want to take drugs, or be cut up -- they you look elsewhere for perhaps a less invasive procedure -- and that's what has led me to chiropractors. Many are also nutritionalists as well and I like that, too. So I can only tell you what I've experienced and for me, this is a field that produces results.

Also, my eldest daughter had curvature of the spine an the only thing the medical profession could recommend was surgery. She was very young and I didn't want it done -- plus, they couldn't even guarantee a result, plus there were many, many risks. So I took her to a chiropractor (she couldn't sit longer than a few minutes without pain) -- and within a week the pain went away and never returned. That got my notice.

Then when i lived in Vermont, I got bit by a brown recluse spider. The doctor that I went to not only didn't do anything to handle the bite, but he was very invalidative of me and insinuated I didn't know what had happened. I was very sick for 2 full months -- very sick -- I have the scars of the bite to this day. Then a friend of mine recommended her chiroprator to me -- I went cause nothing else was working -- he did some tests, gave me one nutrient that cost almost nothing -- and within 2 DAYS I was no longer sick and was back to my normal self. Since that time, I have gone to chiropractors because they get results and they don't invalidate you or what you think and they aren't quite so authoritarian and "know it all."

So those are my true experiences with the medical profession and chiropractors.

Anyway, Rhea and Janie, have some wonderful times at your weddings -- sounds like some wonderful weekends. Have fun!

Oh, Rhea, what's YBB stand for? I'm always amazed at how astute you are on all the workouts. Have a super weekend.:D

Good morning!

KK - YBB is "Yoga Booty Ballet" taught by two inspirational teachers, Gillian and Teigh. Lots of dance moves with some ballet type exercises and yoga, including the spiritual part of yoga, mantras and intentions. I love it. I had gotten so far away from any type of meditation or grounding and such.

I did the YBB advanced workout yesterday; skipped the sculpting since I needed to give the muscles a day off. But the dance and yoga was fun. Today will bee Burn Circuit #3 and some sort of short cardio added on. Probably one of my YBB shorter workouts. I'll have to see.

I might be working a bit today too. Have trial next week and want to be on top of things. Not a tough trial, but I get a little anal about things. I'll just feel better if I get some things done, then I can play or whatever.

Good Evening!

Haven't exercised this weekend at all. Too busy, believe it or not -- and tonight I have an ear ache and so don't know if I should exercise with that or not.

Thanks, Rhea, for telling me what YBB is -- I think you've mentioned it before and I should have remembered... Oh, well.

Glad that it's grounding you.

I so wish that I'd work like that, Rhea. Do the job and then play -- it really is the way to get things done. Unfortunately for me, I procrastinate and tend to leave it to the last moment. Sigh.

I had starte CTX series and then switched cause I forgot I'd started it -- I think it might be a good way to get back into the longer workouts.

Busy...busy... Jumping from one fire to another. Hopefully soon, the fires will be put out and life can get to a more comfortable pace.

Have a super day tomorrow.:D

Good Evening!

Quick post to say that today was anaerobics day with Cathe and the cardio only of 4DS Bootcamp. :)

Hope everyone is doing well. And that those court dates aren't too strenuous.

Have a super day tomorrow.:D

I totally forgot to even check the posts yesterday! Was just really busy I guess. I was trial prepping and then working on a costume for my granddaughter for Saturday's parade! Wow, what a challenge for me...actually it is not too hard, but I have had to read a couple of the directions a few times and try to figure out what the heck they were saying. Logic wins all the time though. Just have to think it through.

Well, cross your fingers, my trial may be gone as there is a deal on the table. Client has signed the papers, but you never know until it is in front of the judge and all done. That will be a great load off of me when it goes away.

Had a couple days of rest from working out. Was busy sewing. Today is a massage, yippee. Then if the trial is gone, I'm going to see Harry Potter tomorrow evening!

Hope everyone is doing great.
