KK - August Check-In

janiejoey

Cathlete
Thought I'd start a new August thread. Hope you don't mind KK.

Will do free weight today for total body.

Hi Rhea & Janie!

Today was 1/2 of HSC -- challenging even if only doing half of it. Plan on doing the other half tomorrow.

Also posted something on Cathe asking for 30 minute -- tough workouts. Don't know if she'll consider it -- but boy, I'm having trouble getting it all in nowadays.

Janie, have fun getting that book published -- yeah, they are want pretty much similar things, that's why a person can often submit simultaneously. A few tweeks here and there and it can be sent out again. But have fun.

Rhea, hope you're treating work good, and that it's treating you well. How's the workouts going?

Take care, everyone. Have a super day!:D

KK, HSC is very hard even with only half. How did you do? You are not writing another book are you? Where is your time going? I thought after your book you would take a break for a bit.

Hi!:D

Just a quick check in to say that today was the last 1/2 of HSC -- what a tough workout, but great!

Hope you both had a great day and here's wishing you a terrific weekend.:D

KK, How did this half of HSC go? How is Goregia and the rest of your family?

Rhea, How ya doing girl? Miss you.

Janie

Good evening!

Been doing pretty good, but busy. Hard to adjust to DH being home full time sometimes. Spent most of today cleaning house. Been getting up early and doing YBB. Did not workout today, DH turned off his alarm this morning, so I slept in a bit by accident. Of course, I did workout M-F, so today was a good "rest" day (rest if you can call it while cleaning house)

Going to keep trying to get up in the morning and doing stuff next week. It has been just too hot to work out much in the afternoon unless I can manage to keep the house cool. Unless it cools off some more at night, it is not going to stay cool in the house too easily.

Have a great rest of the weekend. I think I'm going to try and get some sewing done, but I'm a bit tired and might just go to bed and watch t.v. until I fall asleep (about five minutes I think)

Rhea, I'm that way too, when my Joey comes home from a trip. But, you'll get in the swing of things very soon. Glad you had a rest day with all the workouts you did last week. It was time for one. I hear ya about exercising when it's hot, just make sure you have plenty of water around. OK?;) I know you know that.:) What are you sewing on these days, quilts?

Will be doing weight lifting today with Joey, so see ya all later.

Joey and I decided to do Meso 3 Disc 25 - Chest & Back. Here is what I did.

Flat Bench Press (barbell) warm up 35#'s 12 reps 2 x's
Flat Bench Press " 55#'s 8 reps 4 x's
Barbell Rows 55 #'s 4 x's

Chest Flys (Flat Bench, dumbells) 20#'s ea. side 8 reps 4 x's
One Arm Row (dumbells) 30#'s ea. side 8 reps 4 x's

Incline Bench Press (barbell) 55#'s 8 reps 4 x's
Deadlifts (barbell) 55#'s 8 reps 4 x's

Incline Chest Flys (dumbells) ea. side 20#'s 8 reps 4 x's
One Arm Horizontal Row (dumbells) ea. side 30#'s 8 reps 4 x's

We did it! We are almost back where we left off. I personally am 5 pounds off everything, but still I'm doing very good. YEAH! Will catch up very soon and will be where I want to be. Then time to move forward again. Can't wait.

Good evening!

Woke up this morning, rolled out of bed and did YBB advanced workout, just the cardio. Also came home at lunch and did the Burn Circuit #1. I think I'll sleep well tonight! Well, really got to run and get those bills done.

Have a great rest of the day everyone!

Good Evening!

Hi Janie & Rhea!

Thank you so much, Janie, for starting the August check-in. I had trouble logging on last night -- and also tonight -- but tonight I was more persistent. :p

Janie, wow, that is some workout that you and Joey did. I'm impressed by your strength. 5 lbs isn't much (unless it's weight I'm trying to take off my waist) -- and so cool that you're back to where you left off...almost...

Rhea, your workouts sound like fun. Did you get sewing done? Yeah, I call my "cleaning the house" days off, too.

Today was blasts only from IMAX3 -- still need these short workouts. And then tonight was cardio only from CTX Kickbox -- am getting back into the evening workouts to get in a full hour of workout and to try to lose 2 lbs that are being stubborn about coming off.

I'm not writing right now -- I am taking a short break from it -- but I had a stack of correspondence that was about 1 foot high. :( So that's what I'm working on now. It's down to maybe 5" now. One chore at a time -- both DH and I are still putting out fires.

Doing the circuit workouts 1/2 at a time is the only way I can do them right now -- cause I so need the shorter workouts. HSC when you do it 1/2 and 1/2 is about 40 minutes for each segment -- that includes warm up and stretch with each 1/2 part. Same goes for Bootcamp from the Intensity series, as well as Cario & Weights. The one that is a little shorter -- but only a few minutes -- is SJP -- if you leave out either the step or the hi-lo and just do either step and weights or hi-lo and weights.

Am figuring this out, but I did ask Cathe if she could do another series of short workouts -- about 1/2 hour each.

Have a super day tomorrow, everyone.:D

Good Evening!

Today was Total Body Sculpting -- going a little heavy on it -- good time for me -- was going to do something tonight, but I'm so tired, I think I'll just go to bed -- really hot day today and it's still hot here -- hard to think about exercise when it's still so hot.

Anyway, have a good day!:D

Good afternoon!

Let's see....yesterday was YBB, light and easy in the morning. Monday, oh, I already told, duh. I did do PJ yoga that night too. I was exhausted last night and so accidently slept through the alarms this morning. I decided that today would be a rest day since I'm still feeling pretty tired. Probably have to up my intake of water too.

Looks like you've been keeping busy KK.

Talk to you later!

Joey and I did Disc 26, Plyo legs. YOUWE! Tough it is. Lots of modifying, had to. Tomorrow my cardio.

Good evening!

Rhea, Wow! 2 workouts, you are doing so well!;)

KK, Blasts from IMAX3, WoW, you go get them. That's great! I love kick boxing, those are so much fun. Correspondence from people that love your work? What kind of fires? Details please.;) I hear you about short workouts, I like 30-40 or 45 min. myself. That's enough for me. Sounds like you have it figured out.

KK, Love doing heavy with TBS. It's such a great workout. Hope you get some rest.

Rhea, You are so good. I should really attach a yoga on here and there. Guess I'm just too lazy. Maybe tomorrow after my cardio. Have a nice rest day.

Have a great evening,

Janie

Good Evening!

Today was the step only -- no blasts from IMAX3 -- I just am doing these things in 30 minute cycles. I may do a workout tonight also, we'll see -- It's late -- it's just that I'm carrying around 2 lbs that won't come off. And sometimes the only thing that gets it off is exercise at night -- it's not that I like it -- especially in this weather -- it's so hot -- but...

Fires -- well the letters were fires -- the stack started out about 1 foot deep -- it's now down to 7 more letters and then it's done. Some of the letters were a year old.

Then there's all my BIL's things that is cluttering up my front yard -- I have to go through it all and decide if it's a keeper thing, yardsale thing or give it to Goodwill thing -- there are boxes -- and big ones everywhere and furniture and ...

Then there's financial stuff that my husband is mostly working on - but I'm backing him up by providing dinner for a couple of people that work with him -- so that they can do what my BIL used to do so my DH is freed up to work on our finances. And I have to plan and cook all those meals -- every day.

Then there's the fire with my DH's accountant and such -- I guess that's also a financial fire, but it's a different one.

Then there is the fire of the next story to submit and outline to write -- plus there's the fire of the other job I'll be doing which concerns some of the things I learned in Florida -- it's volunteer work -- but still needs to be done.

That's a few of the fires. Once those are done, hopefully life might settle down a bit.

Interestingly Rhea, I was very tired last night, also and slept in a bit today, too. I think I should be going to bed real soon here -- so probably no workout tonight.

Have a super day tomorrow.

Oh, Janie, I was wondering, I just finished with the emoilent soap -- do you want me to write a review on that one, too?

Thanks so much for the opportunity of experiencing these soaps. I really want to learn how to make them, myself. :)

KK, Thank you for the details. My are you ever a very busy lady! How in the world do you do it? I'm impressed as always.

Oh, KK, please do write a review on the emoilent soap as well. It would be much appreciated. Thank you so very much!

Good Evening!

HI Rhea & Janie!

Today was 1/2 of Intensity Series Bootcamp -- you know I think I'm going to do an anaerobics workout tomorrow -- the cardio only from 4DS Bootcamp -- and then do the rest of the Intensity Series Bootcamp on Saturday -- just to change things a bit.

Okay, Janie, I'll get that review out to you as soon as I can find a moment. We had company tonight (the time when I usually work on my letters) and so I still have 4 more letters to write. I'm almost there -- almost done with the correspondence.

Wow, you're right -- it's such a lot to do. Oh, and I have my revisions back from my editor already -- a 4 week turn around -- and in a new format -- it's all done on email now. My first ever doing it that way.

Have a super day tomorrow!

Hope all is well with you, Rhea!:D

Good afternoon!

Been real busy at work, so not much time to post lately. I usually forget by the time I get home.

Yesterday I did a YBB, bollywood style cardio in the morning and yesterday afternoon had a itch to do a sweaty cardio (okay the itch came from the darn weight on the scale this morning!) so I did Cardio Collectibles. I just finished an enormous cheeseburger...yummy, it hit the spot, so I'm thinking that I'll be doing another sweaty type of cardio when I get home.

I'm on vacation next week, so I'll be popping in sporactically and checking up on y'all!

Good Evening!

Hi Rhea & Janie!

Today was cardio only from Bootcamp -- 4DS -- a good anaerobics workout -- tomorrw I plan the rest of Intensity series bootcamp.

Rhea -- nice. Vacation! Yea! Yeah, my scale has not been my friend lately. I've gone back to my old stand by of exchanges to try to get this weight off. When I'm home it's just not practical to have to workout every night just to get the weight off. : ) I would so love to lose 5 lbs.

Janie -- hope all is going well with you and Joey -- are you both still working out?

Do you think you'll be getting some sewing done on your vacation, Rhea, or are you planning to kick back?

Have a super weekend, everyone!:D

Gosh, only two days and I've been a little eating machine. I hate that! I'm going to go do a workout now. I've got to burn off a little of all those peanut butter filled pretzel bits I've been eating all day (can't keep away from them, so I put them out in the game room where hopefully I'll forget about them)

Talk to you later.

Good Mornin Everyone,

Been busy with my little grandson. He's so beautiful, good and kind. Can't believe I'm talking about a 4 year old.

Haven't had too much time for myself or posting, but once he goes back home (tomorrow I think) will have more time for personals. Can't do our scheduled workout today, so will do that one tomorrow.

4 year olds, even though they are wonderful, take a lot of your time.

See ya all tomorrow, and will try to catch up.

Janie

Good Evening!

Rhea, you so often make me smile. :p I finally got out my old "Eat and Stay Slim" book -- it's a counting calories book -- and very old (80's) -- but it's the one diet where I don't feel deprived, yet seem to lose weight. It also allows me to have some grains, which I like every now and again. And it is working -- oh, so very slowly. But I have lost the 2 pounds that went on and wouldn't come off.

Odd, that. Some water weight went on when I had a bout of the runs, and even after 2 weeks I couldn't get that weight off. So I reached for the old tried and true "Eat and Stay Slim" and within a few days those two pounds came off -- but boy, what a struggle to get it off. Now I'm trying to lose 4 pounds so my weight can go up and come down without my pulling out my hair trying to get it off.

Janie, am so glad you're having a good time with your grandson. I want one of those -- grandchildren -- I have none from my own kids yet -- though I do have one step-grandchild and 4 god-grandchildren.

Today was the 34 minute anaerobics from 4DS Bootcamp. Like that workout -- perfect time for me.

I'm really looking forward to the new cardio workout -- am hoping to have more of these anaerobic/short workouts. I hope. I hope.

Have a super day tomorrow. Life is still enormously busy for me. I have my edits back from my editor, but for the first time it's not in hard copy -- and is in a program that I don't like and don't have on my computer -- so I have spent the better part of the day and evening trying to convert -- to no success.

Deep sigh.:(

Okay, let's all have a good day tomorrow -- and Rhea, enjoy your vacation.:D

KK, Eat and Stay Slim: Is that the Better Homes & Garden book? Don't they have exchanges in it? What do they exchange? If it is this book, I can pick it up from Amazon for a penny with $3.99 S&H. Aw, grandchildren are great, even when they are step and God grandchildren. Enjoy. Can't beat the 4DS workouts. Great job. I am too, looking forward to STS Cardio. Can't wait! So sorry about working so hard and not getting anywhere. Can you get the program you need to make life easier even though you don't like it?

Rhea, I've been an eating machine for more than two days. Three. Today Joey and I will being doing STS exercises.

Today for Joey and me, we will be doing from Meso 3, Disc 28 - Chest & Back. Will bring up details later. Tomorrow will be going to Pike Place Market in Seattle. A treat for us. I want to get a gooeyduck. It's a huge clam so I can make us clam chowder. Use to have them as a young girl. Also at that age was able to get king crab with my baby sitting money. Can't do that anymore. We'll first see how expensive it is though. Let you all know how that goes.

Talk again later,

Janie

Good Evening!

:D Hi Janie & Rhea!

Janie, that is the book. However, it is the 1979 version -- there's other versions out there that aren't nearly as good. I also have the 1997 version, but I found that it was a little more complex than the 1979 version and so I found I didn't really lose weight on it So this, again, is the 1979 version of Eat & Stay Slim -- I lost weight on this in the mid-80's and managed to keep it off using this book.

So when weight won't come off -- sometimes I'll go back to it -- and it usually does work for me. The ISBN for this book is: 0-696-01115-8.

Wow, Janie looks like you and Joey are doing great on your workouts.

Rhea, hope you're having fun on vacation. Sounds wonderful to me.

My editor is going to try to send me the book in hard copy since I'm having such a hard time pulling it up. We'll see. I have a friend who says that he can convert the file to WP 8.0 for me -- which is a program that I like -- and then I can do the work on that -- meanwhile, yes, I will have to get the program and install it on my compuer.

Anyway, have a super day tomorrow, everyone and have fun.:D

Good Evening!

Hi! Today was a simple cardio -- from 4DS -- HIS -- 33 minutes -- good time for me.

Still working on trying to pull up this file that my editor sent me -- goodness -- I guess hard copy manuscripts are a thing of the past now -- which means I'm going to have to get a new program for my computer -- and get my regular computer fixed.

Hope you are both doing well. Janie, I'm going to try to do that extra review for you tonight.

Have a fun and wonderful day tomorrow!:D
