Kink in my neck

Lynnne

Cathlete
I must have slept weird last night because I can't turn my head to the right or put it back! Anyone have this & if so - what do i do to get rid of it?

Oh Lynne, ouch!!! Sounds alot like "acute acquired torticollis" which is a painful spasm on one side of the neck causing the head to carry on an angle. Torticollis means 'twisted column' some people call it 'wry neck'. First, try to settle into some nice deep breathing to calm the body. A cold cloth on the area for 10 minutes and then warm for 10 minutes can help circulation. If it's comfortable, massage yourself with slow deep circles at the boney prominence behind your ear and at the front of the neck along the collar bone especialy near the centre where your collar bone meets your sternum. Find places that feel good to press on and hang out there breathing deeply. Again if it's comfie, move your head in your pain free range of motion before gently trying to lengthen the neck slowly tilting the head to the unaffected side stopping if you have any spasm. Don't forget your deep breathing.
I hope you can put yourself on 'light duties' for a few days and careful driving, checking the blind spot can be a real x( painx( when you've had a recent bout of toticollis. HTH. Feel better soon!

Wow! thanks for the info! that's really helpful - I had no clue what it was - all i know is that as the day progresses - the worse it gets! you're right about the blind spot though - that will be difficult! Again, thanks for the info - much appreciated!

Oh my Jillybean!!! Sounds alot like "acute acquired tortispousis" which requires immediate and constant attention. Tortispousis means 'twisted partner' some people call it a blessing. First, try to settle with your tortispousis into some nice deep breathing to calm the body. A cold cloth on any given area for 10 minutes and then warm for 10 minutes can help circulation. If it's comfortable, massage tortispousis with slow deep circles at the boney prominence of your choice and at the front especially near the centre where the bones meet. Find places that feel good to press on and hang out there breathing deeply. Again if it's comfie, move your head in your pain free range of motion before gently trying to lengthen the slowly tilting head to the side stopping if you or your tortispousis have any spasm (continue if spasm is to your liking). Don't forget your deep breathing.
I hope you can put yourself on 'intensive duties' for a few days and careful driving with tortispousis being sure to pull over to a discreet spot when experiencing and treating "acute acquired tortispousis" in public places. Play SAFE Kids!!!! HTH:p :+ :p
Hope condition progresses to your liking:) :)
