Good Afternoon!!

...where is everyone today?
Today is the last weekend before school starts on monday for us. The boys have been outside since 10 am and are taking advantage of every moment!! Good for them!!:)

I wanted to workout today, not sure what I wanted to do, well, I did want to do deadlifts, but I didn't want to do "heavy" work, like I did on Wednesday (although I love that workout and may make that a staple of the SIM week)

Anywhoo, here's my workout from today:

warm up:
2 min. on elliptical

Deadlifts:
set 1: 135# 5 reps
set 2: 115# 5 reps

pullups:
4X5

OHS:
1X5 with dowel
3X5 @ 15# barbell:)

just a note: last night I read Pavel's from Russia with Tough Love. Great book and lots of info about kettlebells- really love his books and way he approaches workouts.

Gayle:: did you get a workout in yesterday? Still starting PTTP on Monday? I am jealous. I would like to start, but my brother thinks I should finish this program and not get sidetracked with another. I think he is right, so I will finish at least this round of SIM and then move on to PTTP. Are you going to follow crossfits version, or do your own?

Jane:: running any races soon? I thought you were, but can't remember now. Hope you had a nice week at your parents.

Marcy:: Good workout yesterday!!:)

waves to everyone else!!
Have a great weekend!

eta: they sprung us from jury duty at 3:30, no cases that day!!!:) :) :)

Hi Everyone!

I'm trying to recover from the week at my parent's house. For the most part it went very well and Dad did well. Friday was not a good day for him and I was there all day, then went for a swim, had dinner and when back to my parent's house. It was a long day and a long night. I got up a couple of times to check on my parent's as dad slept most of the afternoon and evening and I was afraid that he would keep mom up.

I did not workout out today. I was just too fried. I'm feeling better though but will go to bed early in my own bed!! :):):):)

Deanie ~ I hope your boys enjoy the last days of freedom. I remember those days very well. I'm glad they are outside having fun. So are you done with jury duty or do you have to go back on Monday?

I love Pavel's books. I have a number of them and have really learned lots from reading them.

I have 2 races scheduled for September. One is on Labor Day and is a 5K for the Red Cross (Hurricane Run). The other one is at the end of September and takes place in a Plantation. We are actually running in the Plantation on a variety of surfaces: grass, pea gravel, red dirt and concrete. I'm so excited for that race. It is only minutes away from me and is for the cancer center at the hospital.

Waves hello to the rest of the gang. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

It just occured to me that I forgot to post Thursday and Friday. I composed a post but must have gotten busy and forgot to hit send. Duh!

I am on a quest to get organized by any means necessary. I have neglected exercise to focus on getting menus ready and clothes ready for the upcoming week.

Today was the 1st day in about 3 years that I actually came straight home after church. I usually find myself in some grocery store or somewhere. I went grocery shopping yesterday and I think my meals should be planned for the week. I have all my outfits laid out for next week too. I actually feel a sense of accomplishment. Ate like crap the past 2 days though .

Deanie- Glad they sprung you early. Do you cry on the first day of school for your boys?

Jane- Sorry your Friday didn't go well with your dad. I hope you were able to defrag this weekend.

Hi Gayle and Marcy and Melissa.
