Here is my post from last night, didn't want to rewrite it;), so just copied it:

Okay, still can't figure out the picture thing and ds13 was getting really annoyed!!:mad::mad:

Melissa:: I agree with Marcy about doing the program min. (first 4 weeks) and then taking a short break and then starting ROP. Once you start ROP, I wouldn't stop though. Also, you could tack on the prog. min. to other workouts or have them stand alone. ETK prog. min. is 4 days a week, ROP is a 3 day a week program with 2 days of variety, meaning you can do what you want - take it easy or workout. I highly recommend the program, and like I said, I am going to do it again!...but I would also get the ETK book by Pavel and really read and study it, it is a little different than the AOS workbook. AOS has you doing Providence and Newport, and the book doesn't really recommend doing a tough workout on variety days, so I wouldn't recommend doing Providence when doing ROP. Hope that all made sense:confused: Glad you got your workout in!

Jane::: (((((HUGS)))) to you and your family. Its great you all have such a strong support system!! It says a lot about your parents and what a great job they did, as parents, with how well you and your sisters care/take care of them!! I hope you feel better and good job on your run!

Marcy:::prezel segment sounds interesting. Glad you had a great workout. ETK by Pavel (the book) is a little diff. than the one by AOS. I agree about hte over kill thing, but looking at the book, Pavel does only 3 days of work and 2 variety days of not "heavy" work. I really like Pavel's stuff as compared with AOS. There are definite goals, and definite ways to get there. NO confusion about how to use the workouts.

Deanie, that does make sense. I will probably go back and look at your blog to get an idea of what to do on variety days and if you don't mind I may follow your example if you don't mind. I am going to hop on the AOS forum today to see what's what and get ETK. :) I won't start it until the first of November, so this week I will do... what will I do? Whatever I want I guess! :D

Marcy, thank you thank you thank you for all of your input! :):):) I really don't know what I was thinking about P90X. :confused: ETK is so much more appealing to me and it's the kind of workout I like to do. :)

Today I am going to the Y with one of my friends, she has been inviting me forever and since the kids are on fall break I am able to go with her today. Can you believe I have never been to the Y before in my life? It's a good thing I get to go today because every time I think of the Y I think of Village People, not great programs and workout equipment. Hopefully I'll get that song out of my head whenever I hear it. :p

Good Morning Everyone!

I'm feeling better today! The workout last night was great! I always feel better after a workout.

I was planning to go running tonight but there is a 80% chance of rain :confused: so I will probably do Insanity, Firepower or HSTA. I haven't decided yet.

Deanie and Melissa ~ Thanks for the hugs!!! I really have fantastic parents so the decision to be there for them was an easy one. My daddy is the sweetest person in the world.

Melissa ~ Good job on your backyard workout! I copied it for future use. Have fun at the Y. I used to go years ago when I played racquetball.

Melissa::: Feel free to look at my blog all you like ;):) When I did ETK, I was following AOS's workbook (which recommends providence and newport) but since then I bought ETK book, and will follow that more closely, (the advice about variety days) and a little AOS when I go again....if you check the blog towards the end, I think I cut out providence/newport.
Here is a link about the conclusion of ETK which has some helpful info.
also,....hate to be an enabler, but really, buy the ETK book by Pavel!!!! well worth every penny!

I ended up going home last night and doing a kettlebell workout from NJ CF.

AMRAP in 30 minutes (12 kg for all):
* KB swings (5r/5l)
* KB cleans (5r/5l)
* KB Push press (5r/5l)
* Racked squat (5r/5l)
* Get up situp (5r/5l)

I ended up with 9 rounds (really wanted 10), plus 8 swings. The get up situps sucked up the most time.

I'm on a rest today. I'm going to a Taste of Home cooking demonstration thingy with my Mom and sisters tonight.

Sorry to post so late. I did Adrienne Reed's Power Yoga for Ultimate Flexibility for the first time today. Really good! All the stuff I want: splits, backbends, etc. Did backbend with one foot up in air but then she said to lift up the same arm as leg and that wasn't happening! Overall, I was able to do about 95% of it. She did lots of stuff with legs behind head. There was one move which was an arm balance with the leg behind the head which I either didn't have the strength for or didn't quite get what she was trying to do. Also lots of binding.

Deanie - I agree putting in Providence and Newport was too much along with all the other stuff. I should have listened to my body more and not followed the rotation so closely.

Melissa - So what you did you wind up doing at the Y? I went to a Cher concert a few years ago and guess who was the warm-up act? The Village People. So I got up with everyone else and did the YMCA dance!

Good afternoon, workout buddies! :)

I ended up doing a run, which was very difficult due to last night was the second night in a row I didn't get sleep: I woke up in the middle of the night positive that a demon was going to start banging on the walls or drag me out of bed - darn that movie!!! I have to watch something fluffy tonight, but it being so close to Halloween I am sure that DH will come home with something morbid to watch. Hopefully it's about vampires... I like vampires ;):p

So, what I did was an almost 3 mile run, including warm up, and I ended up having to walk a couple of times. I knew that I couldn't run steady state so I went ahead and made it an interval. Afterwards we did shoulder/tri/bi work and some abs. I enjoyed working out with her! She gets down to business and doesn't talk too much. I think - besides running with DD and my mom - that I have only worked out with 2 people in over 3 years. But I do sorta like it that way. ;) And I don't like working out at the gym as much since I discovered KBs and CF. I just went because I love her and I am so happy I ended up enjoying our time. :)


Deanie and Marcy, I talked to DH and I am going to have to put the ETK on hold for right now. We are dealing with bank issues and if they aren't resolved (which they had better be this week) we are going to have to switch banks and we can't have any hanging transactions. Blech. What a pain in the booty, but it has to be done. They started charging $4 per debit with no explanation or warning and they started charging other silly things to our account that are unfair and illogical, and nobody will help us so he is sending a strongly worded letter to Big Wig. I can't understand why they are doing this to us after years of good credit and being loyal customers, taking loans out with them... anyways, didn't they get a stimulous check? Oh wait, they gave it to their managers in the form of bonuses for being such great stewards of money. :mad::confused::mad:So anyways, I digress - it will probably be a couple of weeks before I can get it.

Jane, I am keeping my fingers crossed for you so that you can go running tonight... but if it does rain I am keeping my fingers crossed that you will enjoy workout out indoors. :)

Gayle, NJCF is my favoritist of all the crossfits! They have my favorite workouts ever. <3 We need a heart smily!

Marcy, I can't even imagine doing a back bend with an arm and leg from the same side of your body lifted! That takes some real mamma-jamma strength! Okay, I know that there is another song from The Village People because I have heard, but are they really known for anything else? They are icons for that song alone... I wonder how they feel about that.

HUBBY IS HOME EARLY!!! I am going to go and spend some time with him. I am so happy he's home!!!! He usually doesn't get home until 8. See you guys tomorrow!!! What's with all the !!! ? :p... oh, one more little thing...

I have no more babies at home. :( I just pulled out DD's first tooth 2 hours ago. He is now *sniff* officially *sniff* a *sniff sniff*.... big boy! *sniff sniff sniff*

Gayle::: I liked your workout! Enjoy your time with your family!....I am going to do "Grace" tomorrow. Have you ever done that? not sure if I am going to use 2 kb or a barbell....could be a long workout: 30 clean and jerks, sounds simple so you know it must be a ball buster!!:eek: sorry about all your meetings; one of the perks of being a teacher- very few meetings!

Marcy:::Holy Backbend Flexable Girl!!! Doing a back bend with one leg in the air is groovy enough for me, let alone one leg and arm off the floor!!!^^^5's to you!!!

Melissa::: Sorry you are having so many issues with your bank. Good thing they rewarded the managers in charge with the bonus's!!:rolleyes:.... the village people are also known for Macho Man...another disco song from the 70's!....Enjoy your time with your DH tonight!! I love little surprises like that!!! Don't worry about ETK, it will be there when you are ready. I am going to do it again around January, i think, maybe you'll be good by then and we can do it together:) I know how you feel about no more babies....my baby is 9, he'll be 10 in December!!! double digits!!

Nevermind, DH is cleaning his guns. :rolleyes: Boys and their toys. He is hoping that my dad will take him hunting this fall so he can be macho manly man and feed his family from the fruit of his patience, labor and manly good shooting skills. He is so in love with his guns... seriously, he is married to them and I am his mistress. The way he handles and talks to them you would think that they were a fragile and delicate lover... like I said, boys and their toys. :rolleyes::p

Deanie, now I have Macho Man stuck in my head!!! AAAHHH!!! Wasn't that on a Burger King commercial awhile back? If you are going to do ETK in January or about that time... that is only 2 months away and I will definitely be gold by then. Do you want to do it together?
