Back again:)

Today is a rest day for me!

Melissa::: how was Newport?

Jane::: How was your workout? looked good except for all the squats!!! Guess you are getting ready for Murph!!!LOL....how's your mom doing?

Marcy:::
whats on the agenda today?

Rhonda:::
Your goal till Feb. looks good. Do you have Cathe's 4day split kickbox? It is hands down my favorite!!
To answer your question about definition..............since I am a vegetarian I probably don't eat enough/the right protein to get "cut" but I can tell you my body feels hard and I am defined. I have a 4 pack for my abs, my arms and back are defined, and my legs are hard! My DH now calls me a "hard body". (sorry if thats tmi:eek::p) but for me, the best part is how strong I am! also, my posture has improved and I feel like I move better. Its actually about a year that I've been doing kettlebells exclusively and I don't think I will ever go back to free weights and muscle isolation exercises (body building). I am shocked and surprised how well the full body exercises really WORK your body. I know without measuring, my biceps have gotten bigger and I don't do curls!! I really think the only exercises you need to define your body are the TGU and the deadlift and press. (of course you need a few others thrown in there for variety!) Also, the only "cardio" I've been doing the last few months is lighter kb's, jumprope and the treadmill. Anyway, I think I am rambling, but I can tell you, I am 44 and going thru perimenopause and yet I haven't gained any weight (well, I still fit nicely into my clothes- I don't actually weigh myself) and I think I look the best ever. I also wore a 2 peice to the pool this summer (usually I just wear them in the back yard)......guess you caught me on a good day and I am rambling, so I will end now:eek::eek:

Have a great day everyone!!!

Good Morning Everyone,

Here is my workout for today:

4 Rounds or Max # of Rounds in 30 minutes
200 meter run
30 squats
200 meter run
20 SDHP
200 meter run
10 Pull ups

My workout was fun last night. It took me around 15 minutes (or a little less) to finish the workout. Then I added walking lunges up and back twice and bear crawls up and back twice. Had to watch out for a couple of ant hills! Then I did 40 jump squats. I was really breathing hard by the time I finished. Those walking lunges and bear crawls get me every time!!

Deanie ~ My mom is better. She woke me up at 2am this morning b/c dad was having pains in his chest but we figured it was heart burn. He had no other symptoms. He still had the pains at 5am but my sister just talked to mom and now he feels fine. I'm a little worried today b/c this is the first day in a long time that they are home alone. I know my mom can handle it but I still worry. I found an agency that will work well when/if my mom is willing to have someone help her out.

It's great to hear of your results from kettlebell training. There are lots of different rotations I'd like to try but I'm really limited on my workout times. Despite all the stress I'm going through I'm very pleased with my progress this year. I put on some weight at the end of last year and my legs were huge but the walking lunges, squats and jump squats have really made a difference. My clothes are fitting better (I don't weigh myself either) and my arms and shoulders are hard. I noticed a big difference in my shoulders when I started doing ball slams with my 25# ball. My diet has been very, very good too. I'm pretty much off all sugar although I do have a cheat meal every once in a while.

Oops...I'm rambling too! Sorry...trying to stay awake. I'm very tired this morning.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Afternoon All!

This morning I did Shiva Rea's Hip Opening Practice from Fluid Power (77 mins.) It included a spiral meditation warmup, mandala namaskar, backbend practice, handstands (against the wall in crow, lotus, splits and lowering each leg down one at a time - I was able to back away from the wall a few seconds each time - very exhausting) and good forward bends, hip openers, bound twists and supine twists. Haven't done Shiva in a long time mainly because her practices are too long but they're really good.

The Yankees win! I had to say that. I'm still a die-hard Yankee fan even though I've moved. I'm glad they won last night but I'm glad it's over since it's been getting quite exhausting trying to stay up every night to watch them. I only got 5 hours sleep last night!

Deanie - Your results are amazing! I could tell from everything you do that you're really strong. I don't know if I'll ever go back to isolation exercises either. I know I got more definition from the X but I think that was more because of all the pullups, chinups and Core Syn than all the isolation exercises. ETK definitely gave me definition in my biceps from all the cleans and presses and pullups. I don't do much cardio either but my endurance is great.

Jane - Of course, your results are amazing as well! I commend you on your no sugar diet. I'm sure if I did that, I'd be fine. It's great you found an agency to help your Mom. I'm sure that gives you a little relief knowing she has backup when needed.

Rhonda - No, DH doesn't go with me.:( He's not the least bit interested in dancing. I'm also a big fan of Cathe's 4DS Kickbox. It's my most used workout on that DVD.

Waves to Melissa & Gayle!

CONGRATULATIONS YANKEES!!!

Marcy ~ I can say that because I'm a Cubs fan!! :p:p:p I'm remember the late nights watching the Bulls when they were in the playoffs. Fun but exhausting in the morning! One day the Cubbies will get there.

Not eating sugar is been hard when I'm at my parent's house. They have cookies, candy, ice cream you name it. That is also where I are the most stressed so I'm proud that can resist the sugar.

Okay gals, I am not a big fan of any team, but I am from South Jersey/Philly and I was rooting for the Phillies!

.....so Marcy, I congratulate you, but not as big as Jane!:eek::)

Jane::: Glad your mom and dad are okay. Good that you have a back up plan...hopefully you won't need it soon,but its good to have. I likey the workout today!.....good job with the no sugar thing! That must be really hard working in an office! Unfortunately with kids, I do have sugar and sugar stuff in the house. And Halloween!!!.....let's just say I have really sweet boys and they share with Mommy!!!LOL (I love twizlers and toostie rolls)!!!

Marcy::: Hope you are still awake!!!Good job on the handstands! I think they are so hard!!!!:):)

waves to Rhonda and Melissa!!

Deanie - Sorry for the Phillies' loss!:( You can come on over to my house - plenty of Tootsie Rolls left over! The favorite at our house is $100,000 bars. Handstands were definitely hard. The segment was over 7 minutes long and I admit to taking a couple of breaks.

Just have a second... I am feeling cruddy. I got really achy and fatigued with a fever and headache around 11am y'day and spend the entire afternoon and evening in bed. Am feeling better today, but still weak. Today DS looks like how I felt y'day. :( Hopefully I will be hanging with you guys tomorrow.

Melissa

Marcy::: I will be over soon;)!! Break or no break, handstands are hard! I tried one the other day, and didn't even know how to get my legs up!!!....and I was going to use the wall for support:eek:

Melissa::: Hope you and DS feel better soon. There seems to be 2 things going around: swine flu or a 24hr low grade fever....hopefully you have the later.... feel better soon!!
