Kettlebell Snatches

Hi Missy - Here are some video demos that I found to be helpful.

From Anthony Diluglio - the first four videos on the page cover an extensive progression to the snatch. It starts with the swing, then clean, high pull, then snatch. I used the high-pull/snatch combo when trying to increase to a higher weight.

I just do high pulls instead. I'm not brave enough to do snatches yet (and I think high pulls have almost the same benefits, without the risk of banging the forearms).
 
I can't seem to get them very well, either. My trainer said to stick with swings for six months (but of course I am not that patient). I do high pulls as well, which my trainer said is the next step. I haven't met with her since the week after Thanksgiving, because of holiday madness, but I'm hoping to learn the snatch this month.

Thank you so much ladies!!! I think that I will ease into it, and I am very relieved to see that I am not the only one with snatch problems. :confused:

High pulls for now, and I will work my way up!
