GOOD MORNING! :) :) :)

Here is what I'm doing today courtesy of New Jersey Crossfit:

Kettlebell Strength

10 sets of 10 with one kettlebell

  • Snatches 5/5 or Cleans 5/5
  • 10 push ups
  • Split squats 5/5
  • One arm row 5/5, or 10 pull ups (will prob. alternate rounds)
  • V-sits 10 (I will do knee raises on the pull up bar instead - or at least I will try to ;))
I will get started here in about a half an hour. Then I will crack the whip and get the kids to clean up their messes. No more Mrs. Nice Mom. We have all been exhausted! Our drive home was 18 hours and we drove until 4 in the morning - ugh! I feel sooooooooooooooooooooooo much better today, though, yippee!!! and if I am feeling good and kids bounce back faster than adults they have no excuses anymore. :p:eek:

I'm doing a 3-4 mile run this evening. I just signed up for a 5K run on August 8 so I need to get in some regular runs.

Melissa - I like your workout for today. Holy cats! 18 hours is a long drive. Did you drive straight through? I think we should be able to schedule a vacation for after our vacation.

Jane - Enjoy your run tonight! I'm doing our local Susan Komen 5k run on Sunday. My one and only 5k of the year.

Rhonda - A Super Soaker is a perfectly humane means of rabbit deterrence. ;) Providence + KM + CS sounds like a pretty full day! ^^^5's.

Marcy - Good job on the pulls & chins. Thanks for the review on Defiance. I'm adding it to my Netflix queue. :)

3 @ 70# PR!
3 @ 70# - lots & lots of shakin' goin' on at this weight. The squats were legit, but not pretty.

3 rounds, for time

  • 10 burpees
  • 10 box jumps (20")
  • 10 pull-ups (band assisted)

15 seconds work/15 seconds rest for 15 minutes do

  • Kettlebell snatch R/L
  • Box Jump or air squat or Jump rope


NOTES:
*warmup: AOS flow drill w/ 20#kb

*box jumped 20" box
*used 30#kb for snatches
*consistent with 5 or 6 snatches each arm
*consistent with 5 box jumps (once did 6)
*14 rounds

****Just noticed it said 15 minutes- I did 20 minutes:eek::eek::mad:!! ugh!!! I hate when I do that!!!


I hate when I don't pay close enough attention to the workout and do extra!!!

Good Afternoon!

I did Jillian's Banish Fat Boost Metabolism today. This one feels a little like Plyo X from P90X but I like this more. Warmup, 7 circuits (no rest) and stretch. Each circuit is repeated twice.
Circuit 1 - Kickbox
Circuit 2 - Plyos - burpees (there's more but didn't write anything down before 3rd circuit)
Circuit 3 - Butt kicks, hi knees, jacks, oblique crunches
Circuit 4 - Core: Mountain climbers, supermans, pike crunches, oblique crunches from plank; spider pushups
Circuit 5 - Kickbox - Crescent kicks, upper cuts to ceiling, back kicks; jab/crosses
Circuit 6 - Jump squats, cross country, plie jacks, skaters, standing mountain climbers
Circuit 7 - Moguls, standing pikes; knee repeaters both sides; jump rope.

This workout seems like it's going to be easy in the beginning but it really sneaks up on you and kicks your butt. I almost at one point had that puke in a bucket feeling (I think it was Circuit 2 or 6). I burned 395 calories. I think I will be working harder now that I have my HRM again. Not that I don't work hard but I think I'll try and give it just that little extra push when I see my HR dipping.

Anyone here order Insanity? From the reviews I hear, it's about 4 times worse than IMAX 3. Like you do about 4 intervals with no rest before you get 30 seconds of rest. People have beens saying it's the most challenging cardio they've ever done.

Melissa - 18 hours is one long ride! The longest we did was 14 hours from GA to NY. Hope you had a great workout!

Today I did The Pit-Upper Body which is a video done by Chuck Lidell's (UFC champ) personal trainer. It kicked my butt. It consists of intervals and drills of jumping jacks, burpees, and lots and lots of variations of pushups, shadow boxing, and kicking. I thought the workout was 30 minutes but it was an hour. My HRM acts weird anytime I do jumping jacks so it kept giving me erratic readings.

I also did a segment of Stretch Max.

Melissa- How was your workout? Did you get some duct tape to repair your whip?

Deanie- Nice workout! See you thought you might not have worked hard enough yesterday and you made up for it today.

Gayle- Thanks for the confirmation! The "supposed" animal repellent powder did nothing. They probably powdered their noses with it. Good workout last night, enjoy your rest day.

Jane- Enjoy your run.

Marcy- Your workout sounded intense but fun. Who is Insanity by?

Hi everyone!

This morning I did KB Way Empire State Mixed up...I had a good workout. I'm really trying to use heavier weights for each round, sometimes I win and sometimes I lose.

Deanie ~ Thank you again for all your help. I am really trying to get the hang of an all KB way of doing things. I really like your ideas for cardio days too, anything to shake things up! Great workout for you again...WOW! :eek:

Melissa ~ Great workout, although I'm still struggling with understanding all the exercises here ;) I tried Diva for the first time on Saturday..I liked it, but it was weird to workout without a DVD. I must get a GYMBOSS!!!!
