*thinking of upping weight for the h2h sumo deadlift: from 35 to 45.....
* started off only going to do 8 min. of swings, but felt I could knock out one more, so I did!
Deanie - Great workout! WTG on those swings! How exactly does the h2h Sumo DL go?
Rhonda - I hope the Goddess leaves you alone to day.
Marcy - Nice workout! What other Jillian workouts do you have?
Waves hello to the gang!
I bailed on the workout last night. I ran some errands after work and had some quiet time last night at home, so started reading PTTP. I think I'm going to start this next week using CF 603's model for it.
Deanie - Are you still considering it?
I'm hitting the gym tonight, but don't have a plan yet.
Gayle: Quiet time at home is always nice! glad you are starting pttp. I still want to do it, but I wanted to do sim/resolution for 3 months before I switch my workout. I will probably start in mid/late Sept. also working from the 603 model. A hand to hand sumo deadlift is a sumo deadlift and you switch hands holding the kb at the top of the movement. hope that makes sense
I actually emailed Anthony to ask him if I could combine SIM with PTTP, but he said it would be too many presses in a week (said no more than 4 a week) and that I should continue with what I'm doing since resolution is deadlifting also. I guess I'm not too surprised he said to stick with his program over someone else's, but I still want to do PTTP.
SIM is a great workout, and I have seen gains, but it is very unclear how to use it. it is written as a 6 month program, with a week's break after each month. From what I've read, not many people use it like that. They add resolution and either do SIM 2X a week and resolution 2X a week, or do what I am doing. I do wish it were more clear cut like ETK was; but ETK was from Pavel, like PTTP and I think the program is more complete. if I were to continue with SIM/Resolution as is, SIM would take me a year to complete! i wish there were more specific instructions and I weren't so anal!!! Sorry, enjoying SIM, just a little frustrated with it....had to vent
Rhonda: In case it wasn't obvious from the above psycho ramblings, I also am expecting the Goddess of Monthly Misery soon!! LOL Hope you are having a good day!!
Marcy: Sounds like you really enjoyed your workout yesterday! Have fun at dance class tonight!
Jane: How was the workout???? 40 min. is a lllooonnnggg time!!! Were you were still standing at the end or a puddle of sweat???? LOL
The workout was good last night. I started with the running but after the second round it started thundering so I thought it was best to stay under the carport and do jump ropes.
Deanie ~ The workout was originally written as a "5 round" workout but I switched it to a timed one instead. I only have so long to workout and I wasn't sure if I could get 5 rounds in so I set it for 40 minutes. I HAVE to rest after the box jumps so I probably worked a little less than 40 minutes
Here is my workout for today.
Get in as many rounds as you can in 40 minutes One-handed swings 5/5
10 push ups
Kettlebell Thrusters 5/5 (for Gayle) or 10 double armed
10 Alternating reverse lunges w/kettlebell
10 Mountain Climbers
Kettlebell Rows 5/5
10 Jump Squats
10 Sumo Squat High Pulls
Rhonda ~ Hope you're feeling better today.
Gayle ~ Hope you have a great workout today!
Marcy ~ Nice job on the workout. I have heard good things about Jillian's workouts.
I did Cardio Barre Ultimate Advanced this morning and did a little bit of walking. I had another great workout. This is probably my favorite barre workout right now.
Farmer - I haven't quite decided on a new rotation. I was thinking of rotating the Jillian's (I have NMTZ, 30 Day Shred and Banish Fat Boost Metabolism). I hope I like 30 Day Shred. I've heard Level 1 isn't that tough but 2 and 3 are good and many people do 2 and 3 back to back. Circuit training has really been working well for me. My pooch has gone way down. If I don't like a workout, I try to trade it on videofitness, haven given some to friends and some to Good Will.
Gayle - Quiet time is always good. A chance to recharge your batteries.
Jane - Sounds like a fun workout today!
Deanie - Great job on the swings and extra rep of bbl get up situp! I can't imagine sticking with a program for 6 months let alone a year!
