I know very little about kettlebells, but am beginning to become intrigued . If I were to make a purchase, should I buy them in pairs(like dumbells) of the same weight, or just a single one of just one weight?

thanks Catherine! I am going to check Target or Sports Authority today for the GoFit C's. If I spend over $50 at Sports Authority, I can apply the $10 coupon. So, that means I have to get 2 KB's! I hope they are in stock!
I like my GoFit bells (they are comfortable and pretty!).
The only caution I have is to check the handles in person. They are not consistent in smoothness (some have rough spots or even ridges, which can be sanded down if need be, but it's better not to have to).
I've tried several types of bells, and I prefer the GoFit and Ader (I also liked the Dragon Door bells I tried at a workshop, but they are pricey!)
