Good Morning!

Gayle::: Looking forward to seeing what you did last night. Now that the 603 is gone, who are you following for WOD's ...Jersey xfit?

Jane:::How's your ankle?

Marcy:::Great job with the chin ups!!! Isn't it nice when you eat what you want, and the scale doesn't register that??!!:p...I've heard the teenage years are hard...I'm just unprepared!LOL...one minute I'm "so mean", and the next I'm "mommy"

Melissa::: someone told me (and I think they are right) the elementary school years go slowly, but once they hit middle school, the years fly. I am finding that to be true. The meeting with the principal of the high school last night, was all about college!!!:eek::eek: and how the h.s. years are all geared towards that!...unbelievable!! I didn't do half the work these kids are expected to do, thought about college my sr. year only, and still went to Syracuse Univ.... from what the principal was saying, if that were now, I couldn't even get into comm. college now!!!:eek::eek: horrible! Why can't we teach age appropriate things anymore and let kids be kids!!!!??? sorry for the rant!

Here is my workout:

Waves to Rhonda!
Have a great day gals!

Good morning!!

Deanie - I work at a college (small, well respected state school) and while I think it's great on the part of the principal to get parents and students thinking and planning about college at that age, I don't think it's unreasonable for DS13 to just be 13 for a while!!!

Great job on the DLs!! If 165# is feeling easy, I'm betting your 1RM, when you test it, is gonna be up there! I've been doing NJCF WODs for kettlebell stuff, and I've been checking out WOD's at Coach Rutherford's site (http://www.coachrut.blogspot.com/), CrossFit OneWorld, and Performance Menu, but haven't really started any yet. They all seem to gear towards a strength bias, like CF603 did. I feel like I should pick someone's programming and start working with it...but that exercise fear of commitment thing kicks in.

I wish I could stick with a program like you do!

Marcy - Awesome chin-ups! Sounds like a great Thanksgiving. :)

Waves to Jane, Melissa and Rhonda!

Last night I did:

Warm up
10@133#, 2x5@155#

DL
5-5-5-5-5
165-175-185-175-165

165 and 175 felt really nice, my form started getting shaky at 185.

Cash out:
5x5 K2E
2x15 Hip extensions

I'm hitting the gym tonight to work on overhead squats.

Have a great day!

Deanie, rant away because I feel the exact same way and that's one of the reasons DH and I are pulling DD out to homeschool next year - she is in 7th grade and they are already drilling college and great test scores into their heads, and yet the teachers aren't up to helping the kids to even understand what and why they are learning because they are overwhelmed with standards, overcrowding and performing to get grants!!!!! They are putting these kids under more stress that even an adult who is able to cope couldn't handle without medication. The kids don't even enjoy learning, it is just drill drill drill, pass the test, drill some more... so much fun, curiosity, joy and childhood stolen. Ugh. I think DS will be fine if he doesn't know what he wants to do with the rest of his life and which school he wants to go to by his first day as a Freshman in HS. :)rolleyes: at the system)
How did the Pose running feel?

I did Diva this morning, with only 30 second rests besides after the frog jumps, I needed a full minute for that one. I wish I would have gone heavier for renegade rows, but I marked that in my book so that I can remember for next time. :)

Taking the kids to the doc for some itches, will see you guys later.

Matrix from Yoga Shakti:
Surya Namaskar A&B
Rhythmic Vinyasa 1
Dancing Warrior 1 through 4
Core Abs
Standing Pose Flow 2 - quite a few arm balances but the only one I was really able to do was crow. I wish they'd make a detailed arm balance practice on exactly how to get into these poses slowly.
Shoulder Opening
Handstand - did handstand and forearm stand against the wall.
Inversions (shoulderstand) - did shoulderstand in lotus!
Supine Poses

Deanie - Great job on the DLs!:D One of the attorneys I used to work for said with the schools she went to (state schools) she probably wouldn't even be asked to interview for the firm she's now a partner at. I didn't go to college but feel I got a better education than my kids did. The years are definitely going to fly by now.

Melissa - I agree they're so caught up with testing kids these days, they're not able to teach them what they should be teaching. One thing I definitely think they should teach is personal finance. The kids get older and they have no clue about credit cards, mortgages, budgeting, etc.

Gayle - Great job on the DLs!:D

Waves to Jane and Rhonda!

Marcy

Hi guys,

Just a quick post right now. My mom is having major back issues (spasms) that I believe are due to stress. She has had them on and off for years but they usually go away after 1 or 2 days. She has had them on and off for about month now. She went to urgent care on Sunday and they gave her some meds to take which make her drowsy but have not really relieved the spasms all that much. She is seeing her regular doctor tomorrow and has a referral for a rehab doctor for her back.

I took yesterday off from work to take care of mom and dad and will be leaving work soon to interview a home care agency so we can get someone in to take care of dad so mom doesn't have to. She told us on Sunday that she can't handle it anymore.

Anyway I didn't do Murph on Sunday and haven't worked out since Friday night. I haven't really been home except for Saturday afternoon and night. I may be AWOL for a couple of days as we make the adjustments to get mom healthy and dad settled into a new routine. I hope to be able to workout over the weekend.

Waves hi to everyone!!

Jane - Sorry to hear about your Mom. Hope everything goes well with the home care agency and you're able to find someone soon. ((((HUGS)))))

Marcy

Jane, major ginormous hugs!!! I am so sorry for what you are dealing. My thoughts and prayers are with you, girl. Come here whenever you want to vent!

Marcy, GREAT JOB ON THE SHOULDER STAND!!! That is super awesomeness. How on Earth did you do it? I am so amazed at some of your workouts - it is a different kind of difficult and takes a kind of focus I don't have. Great job, girl!

Gayle, I must have started my post as soon as you hit "submit", lol. Do you like NJCF? It is my favorite of all the crossfits, I think. I don't know why, but I love it. I am not really doing any program right now, just doing what I want because I know that in exactly one month I will be doing a rotation. Gotta sew my oats now :p

Rhonda, miss you girl!

Well, guess what? 2 of my kids have scabies. Ew. Ew. Ew. I don't know where it came from, but they have now had lice, pin worms and scabies. Ick. What is really ironic is that my son, the one who hates showering and is pretty smelly, is the only one that hasn't gotten anything. My other two, who love to be clean, are the ones with the parasites. Go figure. And ew some more. They have their lotion on, and since we can't go anywhere until they shower it off in 8-10 hours we are staying in, eating Hershey's kisses and watching movies. :D

Melissa

Melissa - Sorry to hear about your kids. Maybe the DS who didn't get it built up some immunity. I've heard things about actually being too clean. Hopefully, they'll all be back to normal by this evening. Try not to eat too many Hershey's kisses!

Thanks! I kind of cheated with the lotus shoulderstand. I couldn't get my feet in lotus while I was in shoulderstand so I had to go down to the floor, put my feet in lotus and go back up into shoulderstand.

Marcy

(((((Jane & Family))))) I hope your Mom's back spasms get better and the interview with the home care person goes well.

Melissa - I love NJCF, too. :) I know I can always find a good workout there.

Jane and family::: sending you much (((((HUGS)))) I hope all goes well for you the next few days. I'm glad you have so much family around to help with all this! Good luck finding in home care, I'm sure just knowing that is going to happen will help your mom feel better!! TAKE CARE!!

Gayle::: Great workout yesterday! I love your dl #s!!

Marcy::: I don't think that's cheating, but... cheating or not, you still did great with the shoulderstands!!! You should be proud:)

Melissa::: I'm hoping the scabbies aren't too bad and your kids get better soon!! I also heard better a little too dirty, than extra clean. Your son probably has a great immune system! Enjoy the kisses!....and about the school system--->I hear you!!:D

Jane::: another HUG to you!!

Just sent the video's to Dallas (Yeah DHxoxoxo)LOL! Now I am nervously awaiting his reply!!!

Later gators!

Marcy, is 14 too many kisses?

Deanie, I think that you may be right about the clean vs. dirty, but I am not telling DS that! He doesn't need any more encouragement. :p

Melissa

I'm back again

I can't find the crawledfrom under a rock smiley:p.

I have not exercised in almost 3 weeks but tomorrow I am going to ease back into it. I have been alternating between eating too much and not eating enough. I am going to write out some goals to help me though. My sis had the baby and I was actually in town and in the delivery room. It was amazing, messy, beautiful and disgusting.

Will catch up with personals tomorrow but ((((Hugs)))) to Jane.

Missed you guys and I will try to be more consistent about checking in.

Rhonda
