Juvederm/Botox report :)

Call me Heidi Montag, lol, just kidding;)

Had my procedures done on Tues and here's my report about 48 hours out:

1. Cherry angiomas - had about 30 removed by IPL (quick laser type treatment) Had to wear the goggles and they put the gel on each spot and then "zap" them. Feels kind of like a quick and intensely hot rubber band for just a fraction of a second. The ones on my neck were a little sensitive, but all in all, this wasn't too bad. At least he warned me before each zap. They have turned a dark grey and even if they stay slightly pigmented, it's sure better than multiple tiny red blobs all over my abdomen/chest.

2. Juvederm - had this done in "laugh line" wrinkles and frown lines. The prep for this was the worst - lidocaine IN MY MOUTH to numb all the areas cuz he said the filler tends to be painful and involves several needle pokes. Mind you, I've never had ANY dental work done, so the thought of novocaine freaked me out, but it wasn't too bad at all. The weird part was just feeling like my lips were 3 ft wide. Very weird feeling. Felt very little of the filler. So far, it's a very subtle change. He put some just under the corners of my mouth which in effect "lift" my lip corners ever so slightly. He only really used the filler from my nose edge down about 1cm or so, not completely around my mouth as he said they were such fine lines and it can look too pronounce to try and fill those. I have bruised under my left lip and under my nose on the left side. Nothing that concealer can't hide but yesterday it started bruising and I had to make something up - I don't want everyone at work knowing I had "work done". So, we'll see if the filler is worth $500 - jury is out on that one so far.

3. Botox - had it injected in between my eyebrows and just on the bridge of my nose where there was a slight crease. This really barely hurt at all (and I think I was concentrating so much on my HUGE lips that I paid no attention). I really like what the Botox has done. I look more rested, more refreshed, and less pissed off all the time, lol.

I go back for a recheck in 2 weeks. So far, so good, I don't look like a freak, and you can't even notice. It's really so subtle and that's what I wanted.

I'm just surprised how much I like the botox effect. Like the dr. said, once you start, it's kinda like candy:eek:

More like heroin! :D:D:D

I'm surprised you got novocaine. I've never gotten it & I always joke w/my doc that it's less painful than a tough leg w/o. :p

I have had bruising, though. Dermablend works really well to conceal it.

Thanks for the update! I wanted to tell you that the angiomas will go away. They turn a bit dark, like you said, but they will fade away to nothing in a few weeks. Be warned though, it might take 2 or 3 weeks for them to completely disappear. They will definitely be gone though!

I've been thinking about Juvederm since I have very pronounced lines there. I'll be waiting to hear your update on how you like it. thanks!
