Just wondering....

Why is it that a person will come up when two other people are obviously carrying on a conversation and say, "I don't mean to interrupt, but..." And then proceed to barge in and totally disrupt the conversation?

Of COURSE they mean to interrupt, or they wouldn't have done it. Good grief. :p

I suppose it's better than people who interrupt without even acknowledging it! Now THAT makes me crazy, when I'm in the middle of a conversation w/someone & someone else just barges right in as if I'm invisible! x(

Shannon, I know what you mean.

Like when someone says, "To make a long story short...," most of the time I want to say, "Too late!"

Or, whenever a sentence starts, "I'm not a racist, sexist, etc., BUT....," be prepared to hear something racist, sexist, etc.

OR, "No insult intended, BUT....," means you're about to be insulted.

I never say it that way. I only interupt if it is work related and I really need a question answered and then I say "forgive me for interupting..."
