I don't like the way the kitchen is done at all! It's big, and I love the stove, but the style is all wrong for the house. My dream is to turn it into a 1930's farm-style kitchen, with vintage appliances (the ones that look vintage but are actually modern components). I love open shelves and hope to have those too. I've already been tearing pictures from magazines. I also want to redo the great room, which is the most modern room in the house. I'm going to leave it as a cozy place to watch TV and hang out, but have in mind a vintage lodge look for it, filled with Americana. I think both of these rooms will be major undertakings, so we will probably hire a designer, especially for the kitchen.
Thanks for your advice!! I'm not naturally skilled in this area but am having a ball.
