Just have to share....diapers!

Hi all. I don't post over here very often, but I HAD to tell you about my new find that is WONDERFUL!!! I was reading my Parents magazine about ways to save money and they talked about buying diapers online. The website is 1800diapers.com They have all your major brand names and sizes and for me, they were just a little bit cheaper than Walmart prices (you may have to compare to your local prices where you live to see if it is a savings for you). They do have free shipping/handeling also, but the catch is you have to buy to cases to qualify. The packages are like Super Mega Packs, so when I buy 2, I am set for 2 months or so! I just tried this for the first time and it is so nice to have diapers delivered to my front door, not paying for S/H and they are just a little bit cheaper than Walmart. It did take like 7 days for them to be delivered though (I think they are out of NJ and I live in WI). So, I have to make sure that I order a week or so before I think I am going to run out, just to be safe!

Thanks for sharing! I'm due in May and am thinking about stockpiling some diapers now while I have the extra dough!

Hey Michelle. Be careful to not stock up on too many size 1 diapers. My daughter (Ella) was 9+ pounds when she was born and she was only in size one diapers for 3 weeks, and then she was into size 2's. Big babies run on both my hubby and my side, so I pretty much knew I was going to have a big one! :)

Thanks for the tip. I have a 4yo downs boy, still in diapers and a 2yo typically developing boy still in diapers, so we go through a lot!!! Big cases work for me. (and when the baby comes, I'll have 3 in diapers....it's only a season, it's only a season, it's only a season.)

Maggie:)

Robin -

Don't worry! I know all about big babies and how quickly the diaper sizes change. #1 for me was 9 pounds 11.5 ounces, so an itty-bitty newborn he was not. I was going to get some to have on hand, but definitely not all of one size!!!;-)

Diapers referral

Hi Robin,

I just looked at this website and noticed that YOU can get referral credit on my orders. ($2 on the first order and $1 for every time I would order thereafter.) If you'd like to get this credit, I would be willing to tell them you referred me. From what I read, I would have to get a referral code from you or provide your email address when I place an order. So, if you'd like to do this let me know and I'd be glad to tell them you referred me. (Hey, I appreciate you letting us know about this - I have twins to keep in diapers!) You can let me know here or email me.

Thanks alot,
Tricia

I was so excited when I saw this post, but I just checked the website and the diapers are more expensive than my local grocery stores like Publix and Kroger, let alone Walmart and Target. At least for me this is the case. Even my favorite wipes, Pampers Sensitive, are not cheaper on this website. :-( oh well.

I'm so glad you checked your prices out. For me (I live in WI) it is cheaper, not by much, but when I figure out how much I am paying per diaper, it comes out to 1/2 cent cheaper. Not much, I know, but the convience of having them delivered to my door is worth the savings for me also.

So, yes, please see if it is even a savings for you. I know it will depend on location.

RE: Diapers referral

Hey Tricia. That is so funny you brought that up. I just got an email from them yesterday stating the very same thing. They gave me a code. The code is: ROWA5946
The email said that you will save $1 as well if you type in that code. Hopefully it works! We'll see if the next time I order if they actually credit me that $2 or not!
Thanks for asking!

RE: Diapers referral

Just read my email again from diapers.com, it says you save $2 with your order if you use that referral number. Hopefully it works!

While we're talking diapers...I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what type of diaper you use? My twins are crawling now, but are still small. (They wear Pampers Swaddlers now). Problem is they're just about to outgrow these, and I don't like the other Pampers for 12-18 lbs. The swaddlers stretch to fit, the others don't. Anyone have suggestions? If I'm going to buy a box of 200 diapers, I'd sure hate to get something that leaks! BTW, I have a boy and a girl - so I kind of need something that works for both.

Thanks,
Tricia

I agree completely with Emy! Huggies Supreme is best, and Huggies is a second. And the funny thing is, I also agree with the poster, that Pampers Swaddlers are great but the larger Pampers are not!

As a side note, with my first baby I thought I would be frugal and buy TRU and other store brand diapers to save money. And that one diaper commercial says "live, learn, and get Luvs" but for me it was the opposite- live, learn, and spend a little more because it's worth it! Now with my baby, I'll only buy Huggies or HS! Too funny.
