I was at the mall across the street from the courthouse in Santa Maria when it was anounced that a verdict had been reached in the Michael Jackson case. So I went over to check it out.
Now, that was like nothing I had ever experienced before. You could tell that Michael and his entourage had arrived in Santa Maria when the helicopter that followed them up hovered over head. People cheered as he drove by. I got stuck behind a barricade so had to wait the whole thing out until he left after it was all over.
When the verdicts were finally announced I got to see first hand how the media seeks out and runs to the most bizzare thing happening. I had a few microphones shoved in my face to give my opinion about the justice system, how I felt now that it was over, blah blah blah. I really had no opinion so they didn't waste any time on me!
It was surreal.
