and he told me to not to exercise, yeah right anyways which workouts do you think would cause the least damage? Are there any others out there that continue to work out even though they have an injury?Tahnk for your advice!!!

I wouldn't exercise right now. I am still having problems with my neck, as I have some stiffness down my back and tingles and numbness down my arm. When I do weights or high impact it really makes it worse. It has been very hard but I have exercised very little. I see my doctor next week and will most likely have an MRI to find out if it's problems with my cervical spine. I hope it's a muscular problem. Has your doctor told you how long it would take to correct or what you can do. I hate to say this but I think some of Cathe's weight work may have done me in. I would maybe try Tae Bo. That's what I was doing. It's low impact for the most part but intense.

Check with your doctor about walking/running. Don't do anything with out checking first to make sure you will not further injure yourself. you could end up worse than your are now.

You received some great advice. PLEASE follow your doctor's instructions. My DH's entire cervical spine was herniated or ruptured... it was a mess. He had surgery in Decmeber. Take care of yourself!

Autumn, Could you tell me what symptoms your husband was having? Did he start out with pain or did it progress to pain? TIA!! Know one seems to know what my deal is yet, so any input would help.

Hi Fab40! He complained of pulled muscles from "sleeping" wrong on his shoulder for years. He says it felt like the "muscle behind the shoulder blade" was sore. The complaints became more and more frequent. In june 2004, he was playing with our DD... lifting her above his body... when it began hurting and he thought he pulled a muscle. The shoulder and arm hurt. I FINALLY convinced him to go see our doctor (June 2004), who asked if he had tingling and numbness. DH says he didn't notice the tingling and numbness until it was mentioned. He then noticed a constant tingle especially if the arm was in the same position for a long period of time. The MRI confirmed the cervical spine was a mess. Physical therapy was not an option. He could try meds for pain control but eventually he would need the surgery. We finally decided on surgery in November. The neurosurgeon believes the injury occured when DH was hit by a semi... he dashed out in front of it in a parking lot.

I hope you find answers soon. If DH can answer any other question, please feel free to ask.

Take care!

Autumn
