How long did everyone work out during their pregnancy?? Ex:weeks and what kind of excercise and how often. I know everyone is different and including pregnancy may be different. I was just curious

Melissa,

I worked out for both of my pgs until the very end. For example, I gave birth on a Monday with my first and the last time I worked out was the Friday prior. I did a lot of kickboxing with both pgs minus the high impact stuff after the first trimester. Even during the first trimester, I skipped a lot of jumps and kicks. I did more machines by the end of my third trimester like the elliptical and light weights. A lot of walking also. I would work out average 2-3 times a week depending on how much energy I had. HTH!

Hi,
I gave birth to my oldest 6:48 pm on Sept. 12, 2003. I did the firm tortoise at 9 that morning. I didn't realize my water had broken. I gave birth to my youngest 1:30 am on May 19. I worked out til May 18. I did more intense workouts with my second, including many cathes. I cut out very high impact since my bladder said no to it! I will add that both my girls came out with a few pushes. I believe it was the exercise.

I worked out until the day my water broke with my twins. I had 12.5 pounds of baby at the end, but I kept moving... I lifted and did step a lot. It really helped, but you really must keep in contact with your doctor the longer you go into your pregnancy because every BODY and pregnancy is different.

I really, really wanted to exercise during my pregnancy. At about week 7 I was overcome by very bad morning sickness that lasted all day and it lessened somewhat after about 27 weeks, but by then I hadn't been working out regularly. I tried walking, but developed SPD and any kind of impact activity (or even walking around the mall for 30 min) made me bed ridden for a few days. I saw an osteopath twice a week and that helped, but not enough to continue exercising. I had a very healthy pregnancy and pushed the baby out in 30 min once it came to the pushing out part:), but my body had minor set backs which stopped me from wanting or being able to exercise.

hi, i am 35 weeks along and i still workout every day. i did the new low impact step on the 4 day split DVD this morning, wow did that feel great! i lift weights, do yoga, walk, and do cathe aerobics. i am a runner but i stopped running a few weeks ago, can't take the pressure on my bladder :)

working out feels great and keeps me energized throughout the day!

Hi Melisa,
Congratulations! I worked out to the very end of my pregnancy. I ran 4 times a week between 5 & 6 miles, yoga, pilates, step, and weight training. Started working out again a week after giving birth. I felt incredible all through my pregnancy. I'm a mother of five boys. I love how quickly you could bounce back when your workout after having children. Good luck!

thanks everyone i appreciate the input. I have felt good through my pregnancy. I have tried to stay motivated which can sometimes be hard but so far so good. I think it makes a huge difference in how i feel. I am hoping that the labor will be easier also.

thanks again
melissa

I worked out until the very end, exercising the very day of delivering my last two...

I am doing well with my pregnancy. I still work out 3-4 days a week depending how i feel after i get out of work somedays. I try to incoperate some yoga and we do a lot hiking still. I am on my feet all day so sometimes when i get home i am literally exhausted. All my tests have come back fine which is good. I think that i have put on 30ish pounds...I am going to be 35 weeks on tuesday.

So exicting Melissa!! Your doing great! Not too much longer now.
I had my first at 38 weeks and my second was almost 2 weeks late!!
I agree, exercise was so helpful. I was lucky to work out up until
the day of and the day before giving birth. Your doing wonderfully.
Enjoy the final weeks of your pregnancy. You should take this time
to enjoy your final weeks!! It seems forever but looking back it
goes much too quickly. Keep us posted!
