Just barely pregnant ;)

Hello all,

I just confirmed yesterday (on my birthday, no less) that I am pregnant (woohoo!). The thing is I am relatively new to Cathe's workouts. I started using her dvds about 3-4 months ago and love, love, love them. I have done step off and on for the past 14 years and started with the advanced step routines and picked them up pretty fast. But now that I know I'm prego, I'm concerned about overdoing it. My first dr.'s appt is 4 weeks away. Any advice? My energy is still great - I get up at 4:30 5 mornings a week to work out. Should I tone it down even though I'm feeling good?

BTW, you ladies rock!!! I joined the forum a few weeks ago and have so enjoyed all of the correspondence. What a great place to hang out:)!

Hi Trish!

Congratulations!!!!!! How far along are you? I am in my sixth week, so I am newly pregnant, like you.
I have been doing step for many years, and I have continued to step since I found out I was pregnant. I only do high impact when I am feeling well (nausea makes you want to jump less :) )
If you look at posts from the early years, there are wonderful posts by Cathe and Sheila Watkins (she is the expert in prenatal fitness), and they explain very eloquently as to what you can safely do.

Good Luck. I'll be seeing you around here!!!!

Trish, you will know if you are overdoing it. If you have the energy, go for it. We look foward to seeing you on the moms to be check ins.

Hi Stephanie,

Congratulations to you, too! I am only 4 weeks and 3 days. This will be our second child. My dd is 3 years old. Knock on wood, so far I haven't had any nausea.

Thanks for the tip on the earlier posts. I'll do some searching and see what I come up with. Maybe we can share rotation ideas....

Toodles,
Trish
