June 08 Rotation Checkin Tuesday 24th

Hey Vilma!

came by before my workout for motivation! If Vilma can do it, so can I! HA!

Off to Low Max ....

~Chris

Good morning ladies!!

Just finished up with Step Heat..I really enjoyed it today. I needed some cardio today. I was sweating like crazy too. Now I am off to the grocery store and to pick up the kids from camp.

Enjoy your Low Max workouts today ladies!!

Happy LowMaxing Chris and Vilma!!

Hi Kathy! I know what you mean - some days you just need a good, sweaty workout!

Did anyone do High Step Challenge? That's up for me in the rotation tomorrow, but I'm thinking last time I did it, it wasn't one of my favorites. I'm thinking of substituting with something else.

Today was KPC. I haven't done that one in awhile and it was fun. That's what I love about these rotations - it makes you do workouts you've neglected for awhile, but are really good!

I'm thinking I'm overworking a bit, though. I'm feeling some miscellaneous aches and pains. :-( Could just be old age, though! ;) And, I'm feeling sore all the time! Which I guess is good, but I'm thinking once I finish this rotation, I'm going to take a rest week with maybe just walking and some light workouts. I'm not going to follow a rotation in July since we'll be gone for about 10 days.

This week is crazy at our house. Between the four kids, there are five different summer camps going on. Two soccer camps, a sports camp and a preschool day camp. Oh, and swimming lessons. Yesterday I had pick-ups and drop-offs at 8:30, 9:00, 11:30, 11:45, 1:00, 2:30, and 4:00. Then swimming at 5:30. Crazy, I tell you!! DH is in charge today. Next week won't be so hectic. The kids are loving it, though, so that's what counts!

Hope everone has a great day!

Joanne

Hi Everyone!

I also did low max this morning -- believe it or not, it was the first time I did it with two risers. I'm always so afraid of tripping (because I do!) that I always go lower. Well, today I was brave and it wasn't so bad. I was so pooped on that number 5 blast that I just had to stop for a bit, but that was a good thing, because I was fresher for the number 6 combo, which I have never gotten, and finally today I did. I remembered that I usually am so pooped from number 5 and 6 foot work is challenging for me that I just give up. So, I felt good when I was done!

Joanne, c'mon, get real.... you are not tired from your workouts, you are tired from you kids' schedule! :) Just kidding, sort of, but yesterday looked brutal! I hope your whole summer isn't like that. I do need to still work in some swim lessons on this end! Oh, I did do HSC -- I can never remember if I prefer HSC or HSTA -- I do them both so rarely. I know there is one that I like better because it has fewer equipment changes. Anyway, I got through HSC and I was happy to be following Debbie's rotation because she got me doing workouts like that that I don't normally pick for myself. If it's not too late, I say go for it! But it sounds like a rest week at the end of all this would be good for you! I won't follow a real rotation in July either, because I'm going to Tahoe for a short vacation. Well, and the road trip, too. So, I'm not sure what I'll work in for July....

Have a great day everyone!

Step Heat was my 1st Cathe and it holds a special place for me :)

Joanne:

My goodness! Sure your car doesn't say Taxi on it? ;)

Sometimes I swear mine does well not sometimes - all the time :p

It does get crazy doesn't it? Reason why I try to get my workouts in before everyone wakes up cause thats when my time is over - bummer. Before that its my time and I'm very protective over it or else I'd go nuts here. Uh huh oh yes!

Sounds like you did great w/ LM. Good for you!

I have to finish eating, shower and then go back out to drop my oldest dd at the college, do some errands in town wait for phone calls to pick up the older two.

My son is doing some volunteering at the hospital here so I had to take him over there earlier. See what I mean about playing taxi driver? Ayup - thats me .... lol

Gots to get going once again BBL :)

Hey Girls!...

Kathy...I agree, a good sweaty step workout always makes ya feel like a million bucks! It must be nice to have your kids in camp and do your workouts? I'm the opposite

Joanne... I ended up skipping HSC on Saturday. I too have been having mild, but generalized soreness. And plus I was in an irritible, crappy minded mood, and I just didn't FEEL like HSC or getting all icky and sweaty. So i purposely omitted Saturday's HSC. I think I actually have liked HSC in the past though. It's a good circuit workout that moves quickly... I'm probably due up for a rest week myself. Plus, our vacation weeks aren't until middle of July, so maybe I'll save the rest for then. I think I'll see what Cathe has to offer for July 08 first... Your schedule sounds CRAZY Joanne! Glad DH has the day today!

Beth.... Hi-5's on Low Max!!! Good for you for getting through it, that is a HUGE accomplishment! I know, today, i started off low, but then put my step up after the warm-up thinking I really need to not be 'easy' on myself! That workout is intense, isn't it??? My lower body always screams at me during those lunges, and those endless "7 knee repeaters or 15 knee repeater!!" Owie!

Time for me to make some lunch for me and the boys...

We're tentatively planning on going to the movies later to see "Get Smart" (i heard it was very funny!)...

Have fun today, everyone!!

~Chris

Hey that's funny, Vilma!

*MY* HR monitor said I burned 551 calories!! makes me feel better about the accuracy of my HRM!!

Cool!

~Chris

Re: low max..... at the end of one of the earlier challenges, Cathe says something about how some blasts are easier than others, and I always think to myself "and this one was one of them?! Because if so, I am in big trouble." And yes, indeed, I'm always in big trouble. That's a good workout -- and fun!

My HRM said 5-something too, and I looked back at a previous time done without the extra riser and it was only 371 (funny I remember the older number but not today's).

Taxi, taxi.... loved that little taxi driver guy, Vilma. I'm taxy-ing my boys off to "beach safety and boogie boarding camp" in a bit.

Let us know how "Get Smart" is, Chris!

Beth, good job with the two risers on Low Max!! Yea, you're probably right, my tiredness is from my kids' schedules! Honestly, I'm only home one weekday a week and I don't mind taking them to this stuff. This week is the craziest because there's any extra soccer camp in there and we're taking them out of the sports camp they are in early to get them there. They have the other camps for two more weeks and then nothing really scheduled. It's feast or famine! DH is taking three of the kids camping for about five days in mid-July. My oldest son will stay home with me - he was one of a few chosen from his school to attend a week-long math and science program at a nearby college. He really wanted to do it, so he and I will be home by ourselves. (OK, I admit, I'm looking forward to the peace and quiet, is that bad??) Then me and him go up to Michigan, meet the family, and stay in a cottage we rented for abotu 10 days. That's probably more than you wanted to know, but I'm in a "babbly" mood today.

OK, I will try HSC tomorrow. Then a rest day and I'll start the rest of the rotation. Then my "rest week".

Vilma, 524 calories is great!! I have a HRM, but never use it. I should start using it again. Love the taxi guy!! I always try to get my workouts in before everyone is up. I so agree - it's my time - I need it and if I don't get it, I'm cranky!!

Chris, yea, I'm feeling like you described. I don't know why, but I feel guilty if I skip a workout in the rotation. I don't know if that's a good thing, or not?! Where are you going for vacation? Enjoy "Get Smart". Let us know how it is. I'm always looking for movies the kids will like. I love Steve Carrell, but I just don't see him as Maxwell Smart for some reason. Yea, I'm that old. I remember the original series. Or maybe it was in reruns when I was a kid. ;)

My crazy cats!
Just had to share...

Hope you don't mind..

Chris: Love the kitties. I just want to reach into the computer a give them a nice little pat. Lauren loves Cats and keeps hoping her dad will change his mind about getting one. He is not a fan!! Enjoy the movie. Hubby and I were saying we wanted to go see it too. Maybe for out anniversary!!(July 24th) I have been enjoying that me time while they have been in camp!! Wish they could go to camp next week too!LOL

Joanne: You do have a crazy week. I am not one to do that. We usually do one camp at a time. Right now they are doing a baseball/softball camp at the high school. Hubby has been dropping them off and I picked them up at lunch time. Works out great. I get to do my workout in peace and have a little quiet time too..KPC is on my schedule for tomorrow. HSC is a good one. Not sure which one (HSC or HSTA) has all those leg presses. But, I know I feel a great workout when I am done..I am not sure what I will do in July. We have a lot of travelling planned too that would mess up a rotation. I will probably do the July 08 rotation and do what I can with it..

Beth: Oh that low max always fools me. I think low max and think low. But it is nothing like a light day for sure. I feel more of a workout with that one than I do with some of the other cardios. I think it is the intense leg work that gets ya. I love that one!!

Vilma: Yeah, I enjoyed step heat. Some of the older ones I can't get into. But, that one had a couple of really good combos and the abs section too...

Chris, great pictures of the cats! I was trying to think of a good caption. The look in their eyes is priceless!

Kathy, I value those few hours of peace that are few and far between, so I know what you mean!

Poor DH. He works nights and takes care of the kids while I'm at work. He got through the schedule just fine today, but he was confused thinking they also had swimming today. They don't - just Mondays and Wednesdays. I talked to him and he said he was making an early dinner so they could go to swimming tonight. Good thing I talked to him and told him there was no swimming! I just remembered my oldest son is having five 12-year-olds over this evening! Chicago has this soccer tournament in July and I guess anyone can play. So, he formed a team with his friends and they're all coming over tonight for their first meeting to pick out a name and schedule practices. Guess who the coach is? Yea, me. What do I know about soccer? Not a whole lot!! My son assures me he'll take care of the practices, they just need an adult to list as a coach. My DH will be in Michigan the day of the tournament so he can't do it. Should be interesting!

Sorry, I'm rambling so much today! I guess I'm just avoiding work here at work!
