Good morning ladies...

Not much going on for me today..Lauren has a friend coming over. Workout today is Leaner Legs and the stability ball abs from Butts & Gutts...

Be back later..

Hey Kathy!!!
Hey Everyone!!

Busy day for me today. Gotta clean, cook and get ready for our BBQ tonight. At least it is tonight and not afternoon, I have more time!

For some reason my BUTT is KILLING me today. And my shins, and my low back. I'm sure it's all kicking in from my run... Which always confirms to me what an EXCELLENT workout for your lower body running is...

But, I'm also confused as to what to do today. Scheduled is Total Body weightwork.... I could switch it up with my cardio for tomorrow, but I think a KB workout would be just as sore... Going to go poke around and see what I can find for a good premix of total body weights...

Kathy: Let us know how Leaner Legs is! I remember MOANING and grimacing with that one in the past!

Morning! I woke up totally sore today! I have no idea why...maybe its my body punishing me for eating a ton yesterday without working out. The doctor told me to lay off weights another couple days but to continue with cardio. Going in late today because Joe has a doc appt himself so 90 mins are on tap if I EVER GET OUT OF BED. :)

Kathy -- Cathe's leg workout scare me... :) have fun! (and not a gun!)
Chris -- how fast do you go when you run? Just curious. Is it OSIF today again too? :)

So funny -- everyone sore -- it's the top/back of my calves that are feeling it this morning. Chris, if it's not too late, I would stick with weights today if I were you -- maybe the double upper body premix from BM2 since your lower body was worked well yesterday.

I did Exhale Core Fusion body sculpt this morning -- it's a barre type workout. Whenever I do that type of work I wonder if Cathe ever does it and what she thinks of it -- it's definitely doing something -- my legs were quivering and I could really feel the work as I was doing it. So funny how a person can do STS and then have 3 pound weights kick her ass (or upper back, as the case may be).

Off to work this morning and then off to the friends' pool with the kids. Should be a good day. Good luck with the BBQ prep. Kathy, how was leaner legs? I think I've only done that one once, ever, and I know people rave about it.

-Beth

I ended up with the weight Premix from LIC... I think it was just right, not too much on the lower body, enough cardio to keep my HR up there too , and mostly upper body felt it (am I the only one that refuses to do the bicep barbell curls with the band? I *HATE* that exercise!!).

Hottie: Wonder why you're so sore? Maybe a nice cardio followed by a nice stretch?

Beth: What is barre work? Does it involve a bar, like a ballet bar? That's what I picture. I do know what you mean about light weights being tough on some workouts. Lalofit is PRIME example. That man makes me moan (not in a good way!)

Okay, I mUst get back to business... Oh I also did VacuumMax after my workout, vacuumed the downstairs, now for the other 2 floors!

Hi ladies..

I am done with Leaner Legs and stability ball abs from B&G...It was a tough workout...I have only done this one a handful of times. I forget how tough it is. I was groaning every time she said to do another set!! I did it though and I feel good. My legs are feeling it already..

Beth: have fun swimming today..
Hottie: Enjoy your cardio..I love cardio days!! Not real fond of weights...
Chris: How fun! Enjoy your BBQ tonight. I agree upper body might be in order today! I know what you mean about running. I get good and sore whenever I do some running!

Hi ladies!! Happy Friday, sorry it's OSIF! ;)

Chris - too funny - I did LIC today, too. I got to the bicep curls with the band and said oh no, you're not getting me with those again! I put on five more pounds than Cathe had and did them "plain". Plenty tough without band. Hope you have a wonderful BBQ tonight! What are you serving?

Beth, I've been curious about those Exhale workouts. Hope you are enjoying swimming. We have severe thunderstorms forecast for the rest of the day into early tomorrow. Lovely! This has got to one of the worst summers weatherwise that I can remember.

Kathy, Leaner (Meaner ;)) Legs is tough. I've done it a few times and always think it will be easier since it's short. No - it's a killer!

Hottie - did you get a workout in?

Well, I did lots of packing last night. Got all my clothes packed. I thought it would be hard to pack for 14 days - no, it was easy, cause I just threw all my shorts and t-shirts in there! No worrying about matching outfits, I'll figure that out later. DH is going to fix the boat today and instead of going to Michigan and meeting us, he's coming home and we'll all go together tomorrow. Can't wait till we're there and all unpacked. Did I say I hate packing? Well, I hate packing!!

I may not be back before we leave tomorrow. If not, everyone take care and I'll "see" you all in two weeks!!

Joanne

Joanne, hope I didn't miss you -- have a great time! Wow, two weeks -- somehow it didn't click for me that you'd be in that cabin for two weeks. It's all making more sense now. :)

Chris, I'm such a follower that I always start those darn bicep curls with the band and then realize it's futile just a few reps in, and do it with just the barbell.

Hottie, I saw you were struggling with some workout -- what did you end up with?

My Dylan -- it's all about the social aspects for him. The other day he loved the sports camp because there was a friend there he had a blast with (the friend is Travis' age, and yet smaller than Dylan!, and is somehow more on Dylan's level). Anyway, today that kid was there, but he left early, so by the time I picked up my boys, Dylan was mad and started pounding on me (isn't it nice when your kid starts beating you up in front of other parents?!) saying he hates the camp. I swear, I see trouble ahead with that one in terms of social life. So, now he says he doesn't want to do anything this afternoon -- we'll see if a couple of hours of relaxing gets him ready for the pool.

babble, babble.....

-Beth

P.S. Barre workouts are sort of a combination of ballet, pilates, and yoga. I guess it's sort of hard to describe until you do it, but it's tiny movements with your muscles, and man can you feel it sometimes!!

-Beth

I am so sleepy! But I'm the evil place trying not to work too hard. I ended up doing a mish mosh of cardio. KCM's Step Boxing -- all of the vertical and one combo of the horizontal -- but I was having a hard time with my body so I took a 15 minute break...to do HIS! It's a LOT easier when your whole body is warm but even near the end I was tiring out. And then finally, cranked a couple minutes on the elliptical -- 90minutes of cardio my friends! And now I'm sleepy!

Chris -- I only do the barbell curls with the band when I have my super easy red band but I lent that to a friend to get her to to get into different kinds of resistance training (its sort of weird... I think she's 350+lbs but she's losing it by going to do resistance training in the pool but she uses not being able to go to the pool as a means to why she can't exercise so I'm trying to get her to do things at home too) so no more band bicep curls for me. I love LIC -- even joe loves LIC (the things that he can do).

Kathy -- awesome of the lower body work! So, broken butt or jello legs? :)

Joanne -- packing sucks but I hope you're excited! I actually don't pack anymore because I live with someone ::cough:: who's such a control freak about organization that its just easier to make a pile of things that seem necessary and then review what ended up in a suitcase in the final hour. That, and I don't really travel anywhere where I'm not seeing my family and they have their own medical chests and clothes for me. WE WILL MISS YOU!!!

Beth -- oh no re: Dylan! I think Dylan is a bit like Joe (and ok, me). I hate being alone at places/ events but I got used to it really young (racism sucks). But I also get pleased really easily with just having one friend. It's a big difference between me and Joe actually -- he likes having his social gang that he's friendly with where I'm happy with having one maybe two friends who I'm *really* close to and then I'm happy as a clam. I hope you got him into the pool!

I think I'm going to take a walk before I sit at the bench again...it's pretty nice outside.
